Hi! I got a masters degree in Financial Economics weighing in with my eggsperience. The supply and demand discussion I have read in the comments is not really the issue here. The main issue was you are selling the eggs to the same group of merchers you bought them from. In the process of buying 25m eggs, lets say 20m of those are just offloaded by merchers at 50 gp to your buy offer. The other 5m are naturally occuring eggs (ergo, f2p botters pick them up and sell them to you, or members bots with culinaromancers chest buy them and sell them to you). The merchers just sold 20m eggs for 1b GP. All things considered, this means they're now ready to rebuy them at a lower price with 1B of freshly made egg capital. If you then start selling them for 40, 35, 30, 25, the merchers will keep buying them regardless. All the lower price does, is making it easier for them to buy in bulk since their cash stack dwindles slower. Also, more merchers get interested the lower the price gets, since margins get more attractive. They can also reasonably assume egg price will bounce back as no update was made for the price to drastically change overnight. So what if you now instead of slow buying the eggs from the merchers, but gathered them yourself in a painstakingly horrible way by buying them from the culi chest? Merchers would actually HELP your cause. They still have their eggs to sell, slowly offloading them at 30-40 gp for their profit of buying the eggs below that price. But if somehow you had 25m MORE eggs to sell (by setting up a bot army at culi chest) and undercutting their offers, they will notice their eggs are not selling anymore. The longer this goes on, the lower price they will accept for the eggs, causing a natural price-lowering spiral to occur. The risk for them increases (who knows how low eggs might go!), causing them to sell their stack and they might not even want to buy back new eggs, effectively causing a egg-merchant purge. So you know what to do now. Make it your mission that your viewers have to buy eggs for you from the chest, to increase the amount of eggs circulating to effectively lower the price of eggs in the long term. Or you know, we move on, forget the eggs, live happily ever after. Your call.
Nah though he wasn't trying to lower the real value of the eggs, such as by creating more of them, instead he was just trying to temporarily manipulate the ge updated price (it adjusts up or down once a day at a random time by up to 10% of the current price) down to 1gp. To be fair he could have actually done this but as he realized, given the 13k buy limit and time required for the ge price to adjust down, but each day he would have required more and more eggs than his initial 20m eggs could have covered to pin the actively traded price lower and lower, so it wasn't quite enough to do the job. Perfect example here of why the buy limit and slow updating price exist anyway, it would take even 10 accounts billions of gp and up to a year to truly control the price of just one useless item, where without them it could be done overnight So he *could* have done it without generating more eggs ;) just needed more time and would have lost a lot more than 1b
His whole goal was to crash the price of eggs to 1gp yet he didn't sell any of his eggs for 1gp because he didn't want people to buy them for that price for some reason. The only way to set the price to 1 is for him to sell his massive supply for that price.
I mean maybe I'm confused but if the weekly volume of eggs is 500k and I sell 25m of them surely the price crashes no? Like am I an idiot? There's 24.5m more supply than demand
@@EVScape unfortunately the demand for eggs is entirely based around merching them, so providing the opportunity is going to equally increase the demand. The only way to drop the price would be to introduce such an insane amount of eggs from off grid( not obtaining them via GE) that you can single handedly supply the entirety of the merching community with their buy limit of eggs and then some left over. By buying the supply of eggs, you caused the price to raise because supply was less, demand needed to pay more to get eggs that you were holding instead of selling. Then shouldnt you have just dumped all eggs for 1gp? If you had a constant supply of eggs for multiple days with the buy limits, then everyone would be forced to buy your eggs at 1gp even if they sold higher, wouldnt the GE force the sale of your 1gp eggs? Forcing the value of eggs to be 1gp until you ran out of supply? Thats how it would make sense to me. No one could sell 40gp eggs if you can buy them at 1gp?
That’s why his theory of slow buying was valid. He doesn’t increase the demand TOO substantially, causing little increase in egg price… his error was slow selling. Dumping at 1gp would be the worst strategy with a finite number of eggs. Slowly undercutting the market by the slimmest margins possible was the best hope to have the biggest impact. The ultimate goal is to disenfranchise people investing in eggs to the point that they give up the hope of the price ever rising again. If you were trying to merch eggs and bought them at 30gp or less for three months, but then never could sell them over 30gp for the following year, would you still try to merch them? This is actually a fantastic eggconomics video :) well done Eggspected Value Scape The best trick I haven't seen mentioned for this vid was to sell eggs to yourself btw. GE market sees them but merchers get as few as possible while you control the price down
When trying to manipulate the market like that, you need to use multiple simultaneous offers at different prices and re-up them at a fast regular cadence in order to maintain the market's price elasticity! When a market goes inelastic, merchers instantly know someone is trying to manipulate the price; but if the market stays elastic it looks like the actual price is tanking and they'll be far less eager. Keeping your sell price elastic also means you hemorrhage less money in the process. If I were trying to crash the market, here's an approximation of the scheme I'd follow: I'd be using six different GE slots. Starting at a 40gp/egg price, every few hours I'd log in and re-up sells for 1m@40gp, 100k@39gp, 50k@38gp, 20k@37gp, 10k@36gp, and 5k@35gp. The 40gp offer is the 'baseline' used to lock in against price rebounds. If an offer doesn't complete by the time you log back in to re-up, keep the unsold eggs in that stack and add the re-up to that stack; if an offer instant-completes, only add more at your next re-up, it's still doing its job to create elasticity. Once the 39gp offer starts piling up, then consider _that_ the new 'baseline' offer, get rid of the 40gp offer, add a new 34gp offer, and increase the sell velocity on the other offers until you have 1m@39gp, 100k@38gp, 50k@37gp, 20k@36gp, 10k@35gp, and 5k@35gp. Concurrently with this, across other accounts, place a few buy offers at 1gp above your baseline and several buy offers at 2gp above your baseline -- this will help defend against the competing merchers making test-sells to gauge elasticity, and will also let you capture any exit volume once they reach their risk limits so you can reuse those eggs (at a cost to you of only the small day-to-day gp delta per egg, rather than the full delta between the initial price and the price you're driving down to).
The reason the eggs went up in price is because there’s less to buy, so they can charge more for them since there’s less competition. It’s “Supply and Demand” in Economics
Just put in two differently-priced sell offers at the same time -- a smaller low-price sell offer to push the price, and a larger slightly-higher price offer to keep the price from rebounding once the lower-priced offer runs out.
You should be selling the shit back and forth between yourself. That's how wallstreet does it. You need the volume at that price and you could provide it
It's actually this fucking comment right here, yes, this is the trick to make the ge price artificially hold where you want to set it and still have the supply to give away to merchers buying low. Sell to yourself and keep it out of their pockets, the GE sees it and they don't
The main issue that wasn't taken into consideration here is that the GE guide price changes by a maximum of +/-5% per day, specifically to counteract price manipulation like this. And once you get down to very low item prices, this means it can only change by 1 coin per day. So in order to actually get them down to 1 coin each, you'd have to completely saturate the market demand for about 3 weeks once it gets to ~20 coins, which would be almost impossible to do with an item so cheap that can be purchased with a non-members account.
despite knowing it was never going to work from the beginning, there was still a point where i thought wait hold up a minute, this might work 😂 No matter how many eggs you had, they would have kept buying all of them knowing that eventually you would run out of eggs, and then they can resell all your cheap eggs for a massive profit. It was an impossible war 😂 If the merchers catch on, you've lost. You cant possible out bankroll the entire merching community. What you should have done is have several accounts selling eggs for different prices within a range. say 20-21-22-23-24-25, and then lower the top and bottom end of the range daily. That would gradually reduce the price in a far less suspicious way at a rate that you dictate, but it would take a decent amount of time to do without arrousing too much suspicion.
@@EVScape Very simplified (assuming stable market), you buying 25m eggs created a 25m hole in eggs on the market. That's 25m eggs taken out of the ge that other people couldn't buy. Their buy offers (demand) still exist though. The total egg supply didn't increase, leaving those buy offers unfulfilled. Once you start selling the eggs, you will sell to those 25m unfulflled egg buy offers. You needed to either get the eggs from outside the market (create more supply without creating demand) or wait and let the market recover.
Man I like your videos but this one is so much better simply because the audio levels are consistent through out. Some of the daily videos I can't watch because the audio spikes are so loud. Buy massive amounts of eggs to create artificial scarcity, raising the price due to demand being greater than supply. Next, sell massive amounts of eggs to crash the price due to supply being greater than demand. Finally, buy more eggs at a lower price and repeat. The market graph will be a roller coaster. There will always be someone buying eggs, even when the price is ridiculously high, since they are sometimes needed and the thought of manually getting eggs instead of buying them instantly for 200% the normal price disgusts the average player. Runescape players love convenience.
exactly the people buying the eggs organically would pay 1k, and merchers wouldnt be introducing new eggs to the market because anything other than bankstanding scares them. surely, all you have to do is outbuy random noobs and people clearing out their bank to create a huge scarcity
me just calmly doing this in RS3 with woolly pudding hats so far up to 380k/500k printed G.E limit is 12 per day per account i have accumulated 70+ years worth of a single item
the hindsight is strong here but if a mercher saw eggs were dropping that fast, would you not just make new accounts and capitalise on it? He could dump infinite eggs, merchers make infinite accounts, it always balances out. Eggs are a f2p item, you dont need a bond. There is some restriction around using the GE but it's like 10 quest points or something really easy, and when the payoff is 1b profit over 3 days, you'd be grinding out those quest points 24/7
25m eggs would weigh 3.125m lbs on average. Or 1562.5 us tons. In uk equivelants, that's 1417.476 metric tons or 1417476.16 kilograms. This man can hold a building in his pocket or the entire egg economy. Gg.
if you dont buy '1' item at current market price and sell it to check the real current price to outbid the bots by at least 1 gp, you will not be able to outbid the bots in buy/sell price. bots will always swap their price to outbid and place profitable offers when they are the only active offers. this is a super merched item that has little trade volume outside of merching (isn't bought for legitimate use at a higher volume than for clowned max merching). normal players and merch bots will just make offers to buy eggs over your low buy offers and wait to sell eggs once you stop your low sell offers to make a profit. bots will never try to operate at a loss and will know to exploit market changes... the market isn't going to collapse to 1gp since nobody will sell their eggs in a saturated market....
You do realise that there are algorithms out there that can measure the entropy (how random) a time series is like GE prices are. Your price manipulation would immediately pop out in that algorithm, and intelligent merchers would immediately catch on.
Wow my eyes and brain are like a merching algorithm when I sleuth through these Egg graphs and see the price go from 60 to 1 It's not that deep lil bro

"whats going on around march" oh idk easter...
Should have kept buying your own eggs to be able to sell them for longer.
New drinking game, every time Jake says "eggs" gotta sip your drink
The reason the eggs went up in price is because there’s less to buy, so they can charge more for them since there’s less competition. It’s “Supply and Demand” in Economics
Ev getting hacked when eggs hit a 200gp price
he sold them all in the vid for a loss
Just put in two differently-priced sell offers at the same time -- a smaller low-price sell offer to push the price, and a larger slightly-higher price offer to keep the price from rebounding once the lower-priced offer runs out.
You should of had this in the unusual moneymakers, so you can have the market crash with people dumping in
"I'm destroying the supply of eggs, why is the price going up"
The diamond industry explained.
My favorite part of the video is when he brings the egg price from 40 to 50 buying them and then celebrates bring the price back down to 42 lmao
You should be selling the shit back and forth between yourself. That's how wallstreet does it. You need the volume at that price and you could provide it
It's actually this fucking comment right here, yes, this is the trick to make the ge price artificially hold where you want to set it and still have the supply to give away to merchers buying low. Sell to yourself and keep it out of their pockets, the GE sees it and they don't
farmers in runescape legit punching air rn
I loved you in The Wizard Of Oz 😊
The main issue that wasn't taken into consideration here is that the GE guide price changes by a maximum of +/-5% per day, specifically to counteract price manipulation like this. And once you get down to very low item prices, this means it can only change by 1 coin per day. So in order to actually get them down to 1 coin each, you'd have to completely saturate the market demand for about 3 weeks once it gets to ~20 coins, which would be almost impossible to do with an item so cheap that can be purchased with a non-members account.
@@Ryan_Richter yep, going into this I had no idea there was a 5% cap daily
Isn't deliberately crashing item prices against the rules???
Tries to buy millions of eggs 'WHY IS THE IRIS GOING UP!'
Penguinz0 made the money nut economic explosion in a day, they went from like 100gp so more than 20k each in hours, people made mills lol
Fun drinking game: Everytime he says the word egg, take a shot.
despite knowing it was never going to work from the beginning, there was still a point where i thought wait hold up a minute, this might work 😂
No matter how many eggs you had, they would have kept buying all of them knowing that eventually you would run out of eggs, and then they can resell all your cheap eggs for a massive profit.
What website is he using to view GE prices?
I saw the title and thought "Oh sweet, new hannah vid!"
This is absolutely unhinged i love it

Have a buddy a few years ago he had 373m eggs . I lost contect with him but i bet he still has those and much more .
sure you did
you're laughing until you ger merched yeah xD
EVScape doesn't understand basic supply/demand economics LOL
I had an insane supply and there was little demand what am i missing please educate me i'm australian
What an eggcelent way to be eggtravagant. I hope he gets the yolk, it might scramble his mind.
The dedication to screw Dino is honestly awesome and unreal lol. Fun, unique video. Great content.
Man I like your videos but this one is so much better simply because the audio levels are consistent through out. Some of the daily videos I can't watch because the audio spikes are so loud. You just need to tune the gain on your audio controller to keep the spikes within normal levels of the surrounding clips
i been asking for months for someone to help me with my audio but everyone wanna just complain and not help me fix this shit LOL
I'm not a streamer or content creator. But I think there are people on fiver who can configure your hardware and software to meet your needs.
@@NickRgibbs I figured it out Nick stay tuned
And this, my friends, is why buy limits exist in the first place. Working as intended.
Did you know that one of the buttons on the grand exchange has a right click to buy as many of the item you have selected for all the money in your inventory?

I love all the Solo Scape uploads!
Also at this point there should be an account named "Crash Upton" as teh dedicated selling acocunt
25m eggs would weigh 3.125m lbs on average. Or 1562.5 us tons. In uk equivelants, that's 1417.476 metric tons or 1417476.16 kilograms. This man can hold a building in his pocket or the entire egg economy. Gg.
Not really, it's just a note.
This was one hell of a ride
Bro the ending of this video was hilarious
Evscape in terms on profit for you dose it make a difference if we skip that adds
Don’t give up sir, please ramp up and try again, you cannot let this fail, imagine being the guy who crashed the egg market
if you dont buy '1' item at current market price and sell it to check the real current price to outbid the bots by at least 1 gp, you will not be able to outbid the bots in buy/sell price. bots will always swap their price to outbid and place profitable offers when they are the only active offers.
this is a super merched item that has little trade volume outside of merching (isn't bought for legitimate use at a higher volume than for clowned max merching). normal players and merch bots will just make offers to buy eggs over your low buy offers and wait to sell eggs once you stop your low sell offers to make a profit. bots will never try to operate at a loss and will know to exploit market changes... the market isn't going to collapse to 1gp since nobody will sell their eggs in a saturated market....
You do realise that there are algorithms out there that can measure the entropy (how random) a time series is like GE prices are. Your price manipulation would immediately pop out in that algorithm, and intelligent merchers would immediately catch on.
Wow my eyes and brain are like a merching algorithm when I sleuth through these Egg graphs and see the price go from 60 to 1
It's not that deep lil bro
My man just right click the dots on GE and click ALL. Itll automatically give you the exact amount you can buy with the cash stack you have avl in inventory
Lumbridge chest sells 50 every minute for just 4-5 GP each. (max chest)
Not fast but a lot cheaper.

So I bought 500 red boaters before the live action one piece dropped. I still have them now... And. They're at 50k ea. I need to restart my membership and sell them! 😭
"im buying all the eggs at X price so anyone who wants eggs other than me has to offer a higher price" -guy confused on why eggs were at an all time high price
My boy you could have talked to a book provider and got that in about 20 minutes
Isn't this market manipulation? And bannable? Lol
Best RuneScape video ive ever watched lmao
Bro puts an order in for 25m eggs and is confused why the price went up 😂
The fishing for content is crazy
New to channel, laughed pretty hard at the end. Not sure if they're like rivals or best friends but hilarious nonetheless.
Damn, and I just incentivised my friend to do RfD for the bank food chest egg buying moneymaker
i just realised that he is the guy who had the "ironman with ge access" lol
Saw you in the "all bulks" discord/fc but unfortunately I didn't know of anyone that had a big stock of them, usually there is someone with a crazy stack of anything you need. I got like 40 10m+ stacks myself. Would be interesting to see what else you can come up with via these communities lol. If you wanna see 500m potato seeds hit me up haha
Im never watching another evscape video again after this holy hells bells
@@DC1BC1 what the damn hell man

never seen such a funny video mate, this was pucker. 🥚
If EVscape had simply gone in the other direction he probably could have got eggs up to 1k each.
the only good merching video to ever exist
People say it wouldn't work, but it would with like a billion eggs I think. lol
Why have I just watched a 38 minute video about eggs 😂😂
