I always felt that Minato and Itachi were two sides of the same coin. One light, one dark. Geniuses that protected the ninja world and gave themselves for the good of others and also entrusted wisdom to the next generation.
Minato and Itachi are vastly different. The resolve and pain Itachi went through for years is so unfathomably deep that it couldn't even be compared to Minato's, which only took a single night. Minato merely did the best he could as a father, husband and as a leader of a village given his situation at that moment. If he had the liberty to make decisions or if the situation was different, I'm sure he would have chosen differently. Itachi on the other hand, had to endure the passing of his best friend and carry the shame of having "killed" him. Later, he even had to kill his lover, family and clan mates, and purposely made his little brother that he loved dearest to hate him. All because he couldn't change the mind of his clan on their rebellion. He didn't want to kill them as much as any normal person who love their family would, but he had to in order to protect the world's peace. Despite all that, he still joined a highly dangerous terrorist organisation to monitor and spy on it from within and leak information out. How do you think Jiraiya got so much intel on Akatsuki when it is a group made up of only 10 people? Someone must have leaked it on purpose. Then Itachi got sick and is dying, and yet still forced himself to fight his little brother to the death, just for his little brother to be free of Orochimaru and to give his brother the Mangekyo Sharingan. Despite all that, he still couldn't rest in peace and was still resurrected. Yet again, he sacrificed himself to save the world. Itachi is easily the best character throughout the entire Naruto franchise. Minato got nothing on Itachi.
People joke that Minato is a terrible father because he asks him how old he is. Well, I saw this point, and I loved it. So I'll use it here. The reason Minato asked Naruto how old he was wasn't because he didn't know. Minato saw that Naruto was going into a negative spiral, so he asked him a question with a definitive answer to get his son to focus and snap him out of the spiral he was in. It's the small details that Naruto does so well.
Hey Nick, about the Child of Prophecy. ..When Jiraiya met Minato and trained him, Jiraiya thought that Minato was the one. But then, Minato died and Jiraiya resumed his search again. The crazy thing is that there were two Children of Prophecy - Nagato represented the evil path and Naruto the good path. Jiraiya's final selection was a way of choosing the winner of the battle between the two. Jiraiya coded message gave Naruto the words required to talk-no-jutsu Pain and ultimately win the battle. So, not only was there a Prophecy that Jiraiya would be the one to train the Child of Prophecy, Jiraiya managed to train potential three of them and in the end, two of them worked together to defeat the third one!

Jiraiya entrusted the Ninjas world to Naruto, while the Author entrusted the real world to his reader. When we all embrace the will of fire, believing people can understand and accept each others, the real peace comes
I'd say Shogun Assasination arc in Gintama and Return to Shingashina in AoT are the same league. But yes, this writing and action quality is rare among anime.

Hi BRO! Pain's arc is really the best (in my opinion). Starting with Jiraija's death, the whole Konoha part, and finally Pain vs Naruto, everything that represents both for the story of the series and for the evolution of the protagonist Naruto. There is still a part that is very important and has to do with Kyubi, but it will come. Obviously there is something pending with Madara, everything will come. Even so, for me the craziest thing was everything that Pain represented. I know you have sometimes doubted that Naruto is better than Attack on Titan. But in my case, I saw it in the following order: first I saw Naruto and then Attack on Titan. So for me there is no comparison. The weight of what everything in the Attack on Titan series represents: soundtrack (including the openings and endings), animation, crazy and never-before-seen plot twists, absolutely zero filler (if you watch the series for the second time, you'll realize that it doesn't even have filler shots, each shot has been made to show you something important to the story and the thread of the series), zero erotic/fun content, the work of the voice actors, the script, the story itself...; the characters, the development of each one of them, and the epic ending. But that's just my personal opinion. Naruto also left a very, very nice impression on me, especially these points I've given you about Naruto's master, Pain... and some that are yet to come. But I don't feel that the entire series maintains that tension and quality. They are 2 totally different series because the target audience is also different and the length of each series also requires there to be filler. A big hug and keep enjoying this series and its story. There are some good points to come, I hope some of them blow your mind and touch your heart like they did mine. Lets GO!
