The last point is really important... I want to apply for maths at Cambridge, but if the desire is too overwhelmed it really make me sucked. Realizing to be a real person is way more important than anything else! Also thanks for telling that interview is not that intimidating, this really make me relax a lot.
best of luck for your application Sophia! sending lots of love x
I got accepted for Maths too last month, and rest assured that if you convince your interviewers of your desire to learn and ability to grow then you will at least be in strong consideration for the acceptance. Perhaps that's all I'm qualified to say since I myself don't know much yet, lol
@@manswind3417 Are you willing to tell me some insights? I am also aiming at applying for maths this year and incredibly insecure
@@beyza2004 Yeah sure so, other than the pedantic details about Cambridge Interviews that you'll find in any YT video of this kind (some are on the official Cambridge Channel itself), I'll provide some info on the interviews.
Firstly, all colleges have similar but ever so slightly differing processes for interviewing. My college, Christ's, first had a one hour written test followed by a discussion interview, and then a general interview by different interviewers.
The test and the first interview were based solely on pure abstract mathematical topics and algorithmic/analytical thinking, often called "non-routine maths" that is tested in mathematical olympiads and the IMO. I spent the past few years preparing for the IMO so I personally didn't find the test and the interview difficult altho I couldn't do all questions in given time.
The second interview is somewhat general, and based on your A-Level Maths as well as Mechanics. As long as you're conceptually clear and can think spontaneously about what you've learnt in school, you'll ace it without much hindrance.
Personally, I liked the experience and given that it was online, I was kinda anxious beforehand and I can see you must be feeling the same, but just keep calm and complete all the tasks they assign (documents sending, application filing etc.) on time. Give it your best, and the rest will fall in place, good luck!
@@manswind3417 Thanks a lot! Appreciate it!
woah! i really like your excitement while speaking!!
Thank you for jumping right in!
Hi, thanks for another brilliant video. I’d like to know about college campus life such as if you have a curfew, you have to participate in the rowing activities(sports) and dining meetings.
Plus, about mature students with your observations (even if I understand that you are not a mature student :) )
hi Sangmok! We don't have a curfew and although college activities certainly aren't mandatory, they are lots and lots of fun! The dining is different in covid but from my understanding normally undergrads and post grads mix together in the dining hall each night x
@@SiennaJames Wow I am so touched by your prompt reply!! Can you share, one day, your weekly time table? As I want to study in department of humanity(HSPS).
Thanks in advance a lot, please keep making videos!
@@sangmokha7240 yes! i have a video coming out soon that is a realistic day in the life with a timetable. also in another video is my friend who studies HSPS so keep an eye out xx

Hello Sienna. I'm Akshat from India. I am a college graduate and pursuing Chartered Accountancy as a professional course from a statutory body named Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. For a long time I have felt that maths is my passion and I can do very well at it. Still i am a commerce student and i did not do maths in 10+2 class but now i want to do BA in maths at cambridge university. Am I eligible to do the course?
If I am not eligible for this then let me know how can I pursue BA Mathematics at Cambridge University in any other way.
I am in high school and it's my dream to go to Cambridge university, I hope my dream comes true
Hello, please I'm an international student planning to apply there for my masters, how do I go about it
Im in highschool, i missed the october deadline for econ but like can i still apply to hughes or st edmunds??? Coz from what i understand its all 23 year olds
the october deadline is the same for all year groups i believe! :))
Hello. I loved your video but I still have some doubts like I’m in 10 grade and what should I do which will help me get into the University of Cambridge. Like what should I do right now in high school which will increase my chances of getting into the University of Cambridge. Thank you
btw I don’t live in The UK which means I will be an international student
Try to get into official competitions within the area of the subject you’re interested in. They will help you fill out your personal statement later on!
@@fawo7975 thank you :)
do you have any scholarship tips and info?
How many intakes are there for Cambridge University?
hey.. I need 2 apply.. i mean online study wht should i do help plz...
Or no essays if you do STEM 😂
Hi mam i am a student from india so can i study in cambridge university after my 10th grade by taking science(bipc).please let me know
I am from outside from Uk. I want to get into Cambridge, any advice regarding to this fact? What if I apply with sat scores?
SAT scores aren't remotely relevant are you'd be fine if you apply without them. I did and got in, coz prolly there's other facts like Personal Statement, LoR and Interviews that carry more weight.
That said, if you have a 1520+ SAT score then definitely mention it, it's only going to solidify your application.
@@manswind3417 wait… I thought that you had to at least have a 1460 to apply and 5 AP classes with scores of 5 on the exam
@@mafotekobo493 All that US commercial exam bs is totally irrelevant for the United Kingdom bruv. What really matter are your grades on transcript, Essays & LoR, and the competence you exhibit in your interviews. Ace those and you're in. Also, speaking from experience, having remarkable academic accolades like olympiads or project competitions will help.
I’m a year late but I failed pretty bad in on year would they over look the one year ?
they usually look at a level results and maybe gcse results but I think that grades aren't as important as you believe. I think it's more about what you can bring to the table as a student for example extra curricular subjects like music and drama. I believe they want people to represent them when it comes to stuff like thay
Do you get full scholarship?
Hi Sienna I appreciate your initiative to encourage studs. who r willing to apply for Cambridge....
Now, being an international student can I fit for Cambridge with just high school GPA and SAT and TOEFL score ??
I will be eagerly waiting for your precious reply!
on their page there’s info for most countries
