    These pools work with nature to provide safe bathing water without the use of chemicals.
    Bill made this pool for around £6,000. A fraction (1/10) of the cost of a commercial installation. The decking and paved areas were and additional cost. If you use a lighter color liner will it allow you to see the bottom easier and maybe some solar powered lights. I want to know there are no snakes or other animals in it

Not only do you need to check for gators but water moccasins (venomous snake) but snapping turtles as well. Welcome to Florida kids!

    Two Men in Fort Worth Texas built a spring fed public pool of 1 main gallon capacity in 1951, it had sand well fluidized bed filtration and was crystal clear, but the concrete didn't last after many repairs and a few owners it fell into disrepair after a drowning in 1981

    Like this idea keen to try on a slightly smaller scale. I have extreme weather conditions in my part of the world. My biggest concern is alge forming,and
    evaporation during summer. Maybe a pond to to see how it goes first then a small pool. Thanks for sharing this, the pool looks very inviting, and I hope the owner enjoys his new pool.

    they should sell ocean blue or green tarps instead of black. it will give the water a nicer and more inviting look!

    • @Joshua79C
      @Joshua79C 6 років тому +6

      ask about whether a white or black/green plastic tank is better, you will find the white tank is an algae farm, black is a good passive heating system to warm the water along with a medium to dark green or even blue also help keep algae at bay along with the plants providing natural algae killing oxygen into the water as well

    Won't the wood rot over time? And what about mosquitoes and such? I know the water isn't stagnate but still it would be considered a pond no?

    • @seigeengine
      @seigeengine 10 років тому +8

      Yes, but the integrity of the wood will be maintained for years and years, and if you're that worried, the lining can tear, the cement and mortar can crack, etc. etc.
      And mosquitos require stagnant water to breed, which is why the problem exists. This body of water is circulating. Mosquitos won't be a huge problem.
      Plus mosquitos don't live everywhere, so where this guy lives is also a factor.

    • @clsherian
      @clsherian 7 років тому +16

      larsonny77 wood will not rot if it stays submerged.

    • @RepublicofTX
      @RepublicofTX 7 років тому +22

      larsonny77 wood needs oxygen to rot, so if submerged then you're fine. You realize Venice, Italy was built on a wooden beam foundation right? You know how old that city is? It'll be fine.

    • @ertfgghhhh
      @ertfgghhhh 6 років тому

      What about the frogs?

    • @Joshua79C
      @Joshua79C 6 років тому

      Republic of Texas, actually Italy uses Piles it sit on, not just beams, and only sinking due to the wood deteriorating due to the movement of the buildings and people walking rhythm, woods does not live forever underwater where aquatic wood borers persist and is only 'sinking' due to tides thus why they have built those barriers to protect it sometime into the future.
      They really should look at replacing those piles with carbon/dyneema/fiberglass/kevlar composite piles as they are impervious to rust unlike steel, wood borers and rot like wood, or washout and rust deterioration like reinforced concrete. But that would be a vast and very highly costly operation

    Larger species of fresh water clams (never use zebra mussels) will filter additional microbes out of the water specifically things like algae. Enough vegetation should limit excessive algae growth through nutrient depletion.

      The plants provide oxygen which is what keeps algae at bay, ever seen a pond using those floating fountains? those fountains are helping oxygenate and thus reduce to the point of elimination of algae. The plants are doing the oxygenation and filtration of certain other biologicals that are not harmful to you but to keep it in check.
