The great thing about these non- verbal videos is that they show exactly how something works without voiceovers laden with jargon that do little to shed any light but serve instead to sound convincing and authoritative because they use impressive words. Well done.
I looked this up on a lark just because I was curious how you get two props to spin opposite ways on a single shaft and you did not disappoint. In fact this is all so much more ingenious and simple than I thought possible.
The FAA Gannet and Wyvern were two that used this setup, albeit driven by a turboprop they were found to be very complex and difficult to maintain. The Russians stuck with the design and made it work, but the West found a different solution.
for presentation and clarity purposes color is used differentiate moving or solid parts. Both of the blades are the same color ?, Both gears are the same color ? This construction consist of 4 solid parts but only 3 colors are used. Very confusing at first. If this printing was limited to 3 available colors the base and crank should share the same color. The other 2 should be reserved for counter rotating parts for coherence and meaningful use of color.... other wise good presentation ;)
Please listen to my idea.. MAGNETIC 🧲 PROPELLERS MAGNETIC FORCE PUSH PROPELLERS MAGNETIC 🧲 PROPELLERS WILL MAKE THE AIRPLANE GO TWICE FASTER AND MAKE THE AIRPLANE ✈️ GO TO SPACE TOO ORBIT CHEAPER WAY TO GET TO ORBIT... I SWEAR..
No. Propellors work because their blades are airfoil shaped and thus leverage the Bernoulli Effect to create forward lift (i.e. thrust). No atmosphere = no Bernoulli Effect = no thrust.
Not sure that you know the definition of the word you used, but when l looked it up 'contra' is a video game introduced in February of 1978 and has NOTHING to do with your video. The word you SHOULD HAVE used in reference to the two propellers is "COUNTER-ROTATING" AND not CONTRA. IF YOU RESEARCH THE MILITARY AIRCRAFT you will find a lot of airplanes having counter-rotating propellers and even in today's world you will find this set up somewhat common. Bottom line, the word "contra" is not a contraction nor is it even close to being a contraction for "Counter-rotating" as used in the area of aviation propellers. My background, retired airline pilot, flight instructor airplanes, instrument instructor and multi engine instructor, air-frame and power plant mechanic and last but not least, aviation history buff. Just to let you know, you are not the only person that does not know what you are talking about. There is one more person l saw on UA-cam having the same mentality and being uneducated as to what you are trying to talk about. Derogatory comments are not needed, keep them to yourself ! ! ! !

Just what I was looking for! Now I understand how counter-rotating propellers work! Now I am also able to apply this to some of my aircraft concepts!
Flight is for people with money you Commie.

Ooooh. Perfect. I’m working on an RC-scale contra-rotating prop system and this mechanism setup should work perfectly.
Thank you so much, this helped me to understand the concept perfectly.
Thank you 👍👍👍❤
Such creative engineering, amazing video thank you
absolutly amazing , i always thought contra rotating is work with two different engine
I mean some aircraft do that
Thank you. Now i can understand clearly.
My favourite design
Helped to understand concepts thanks
this is awesome!
You need to put that crank in line with the propeller axes.
a contra rotating propeller
electric fan would be an interesting conversation starter 😂
solid! how about testing into a DDWFTTW machine? (faster than wind............)
Just SUBSCRIBED immediately!! 🙌🏻
muchas gracias me quedo claro el concepto a la perfeccion. un gran proyecto
Idk why i find CRPs so satisfying XD
Is it possible to quad stack and have double these?
Thank u for making this vdo.... this helped me a lot...
What program do you use at the beginning of the movie (0:16 - 0:22) ?
Probably fusion 360
the antonov an-22 is the only airplane i know that uses these although of course there could be more
Tu-95 uses counter rotating propellers too
@@Tuomass92 ok thanks I THOUGHT more planes used them
The tu 95 is probably the most famous. Ik the Wyvern uses it as well

@@pawpawstew cool
sweet, thanks
I made my own too.
wow !!
Wow good video
Thanks!
All I need to do is make one for rc boat
