Me and my partner stayed in Coco Mews in GeorgeTown and saw your sticker in their guestbook. We went to the bakery in your video today! Enjoy the travels!
@@EscapeToExploreTravel It surprises me that Malaysia doesn’t get the same recognition as the rest of SEA. It’s easily my favourite country in Asia. It’s so friendly and the food is something else.
Perhaps because some states are very Conservative about religion or culture , this makes tourists quite reluctant to visit a bigger part of the country.
i would say maybe Melaka is more underrated, as PEN has a pretty good (& deserved) following I think. In all of SEA? in that broader scope, I might point to a couple of Vietnam cities moreso even...
@@EscapeToExploreTravel probably you met the 'wrong' group of travellers. The malaysian, australian, RAF base at butterworth is good enough to make penang famous. Not as famous as thailand but good enough.
@@EscapeToExploreTravel Ah. I feel like nobody ever talks about Malaysia that much to be honest let alone Georgetown. 😅. Whenever I tell my friends from overseas I am from Malaysia they knew the country exist and that is where it ends. Lol. However anybody who has ever been to Malaysia will most probably go to Penang too. So it certainly isnt underrated for Malaysian standard. I feel like Ipoh & Kota Kinabalu is probably the most underrated city in Malaysia. I also recently went to Kuantan and I wonder why the city is not more well known as a tourist destination even among locals. To me Kuantan is such a beautiful city. Lots of underrated cities in Malaysia. Most attentions are given towards KL, Georgetown and to a lesser extent Melaka. However recently it seems like other cities are getting more and more tourists too. I am glad that is finally happening.

No way. That’s awesome. China house if I remember correctly? Hope you had the best time. Howie is an awesome host 😊
Cool rustic room. Not bad.
Not sure I would ever say Georgetown/Penang is underrated. Its one of the best destinations for food in the world.
It’s great for food. We just thought it was underrated as nobody we met while travelling was talking about it/recommending it. We love it

@@nomadicsouls3290 agree, there’s so much to it. KL is a great city and Borneo has the best wildlife and diving. We decided we will be going back
@@EscapeToExploreTravel that's not true! :)
Welcome to Malaysia 🇲🇾 🤗
Thank you so much 🥰 an amazing country

That’s what we thought. Those tourists are missing out I think. There’s more culture and it’s so great to see

Because living on water does not require paying land tax
I never heard people say it was under rated though. In fact it is too touristy.
I didn’t hear many people talk about if when travelling around which was strange Because it’s great 🥰

the audio is very poor
Yeah China house is expensive
Are you from Georgetown? 😊
@@EscapeToExploreTravel my late father. I grew up there. But also lived elsewhere too
@@keangwooichoo6138 Hopefully it was a great place to grow up when you were you ger
@@EscapeToExploreTravel it was. Some cousins still live there. But things were much much much cheaper in the 1970s 1980s.
