Hi I collect vintage Gucci and Louis Vuitton the best thing I’ve used is putting baking soda inside cotton bags or little socks and leave it for a few weeks it removes every smell 👃🏼 anyway great review thx

Thank you so much for this video! I bought a vintage bag and tried a vinegar/water mixture and my bag smelled like an old pickle...very gross. Tried this today and it only took a couple hours and the bag smells one thousand times better. I'm going to air it outside (without the beads) too. This video has been the best recommendation on youtube I have found!
Hunter- while unconventional, I am here to report your suggestion of the laundry scent beads worked! A mild dish soap and scrub, then dry completely, and I used charcoal bags to absorb the smell before putting in the scent beads. My LV smells like fresh laundry and I love it! Thank you thank you thank you!!

My gosh Hunter ! You cracked me up BUT it is soo informative ! I did this & the smell immediately went away after 12 hours . . . Would you do a demo video on how you condition your vachetta & how often you should condition it ? I love seeing you do it on screen since it helps me gauge and not ruin my bags . I have not been taking good care of my LV bags & now that I am doing research and learning new things, I would like to prolong the use & look of my bags . . . Thanks for making these videos . Thank you so much for this video! I recently purchased a preloaded Speedy 40, which smelled horrible. The seller had an air freshener inside the bag, but it still smelled bad. I did exactly what you suggested & added a scoop of Downey sented beads for a week & the bag now smells wonderful!!

I just received my mm montsouris yesterday.
I used silica packets that come in shoe boxes that are shipped etc and I got rid of horrible stale attic smell it’s completely gone.

I have gotten smoke smells out with bags of baking powder and then every other day placing fresh orange peels in the bag for a week. It removes the small and replaces it with a fresh smell. I store the bags I am going to work on with a fresh linen smell canister.
you are a cutie. thanks so much for the tips. someone gave me their old junk, er I mean a gift. it has a terrible chain smoker odor (beyond the odor it has a ruined interior I had to fix. the person seems to think just because it says LV it was priceless and expects me to prostrate myself before them, but it's not). I've been trying to remove it for a week but it will likely take more patience. subscribing.

I have this Trouville and I can't get the smell out and starting to second guess if I used the Baking soda method the right way. (I have tried so many other methods) Everyone talked about a melted crayon smell.....but I would not describe it like that, so I will just go for a smell that I can't get out. I've been working at this for 2 months now. (sealed up in a plastic bag for week increments--dryer sheets--paper--febreeze--wiped down vinegar--charcoal (I made little packets) baking soda (put the whole box in there)--air freshener in gel form--and airing it out now. Carried the purse for 3 weeks. I don't think I have even one minus quell taken the smell out! I haven't tried this method, but will. Thank You ( :

I was so disappointed when I bought a small cosmetic bag and it looked great in pics but came with cigarette odor..:😫 I’ll do the downy tip now after everything else I’ve done. I just purchased a keepall 60 and the interior is gorgeous but the smell is terrible!!! Haven’t tried anything yet but I hope this helps I will update how it goes!
okay it’s been about 48 hours since I’ve done this and the smell is completely GONE I shook the bag up a few times and left it zipped up the entire time definitely recommend this such a quick fix!
I'm desperate and will try ANYTHING! My Speedy was held in a storage pod for two years by another person. I don't know what happened, but when I got it back, it had an overwhelming, toxic chemical smell they has seemed to grow stronger over the years. I know, it sounds crazy, right? It's like it is possessed or something. It smells plasticky, but much, much worse - like bug spray or something. It is so bad now I can no longer use my Speedy and it breaks my heart. All clothing and other bags absorb this odor in my closet. It's to the point I have thought about actually throwing it away - no way would anyone buy it with this odor.
What do you do for the smell of the out side?
I have an alma and the outside stinks . What can I do about the outside of the bag

I'm gonna try this. I recently purchased 2 LV bags from an older lady, yes authentic but they smell like mildew. I think maybe they had gotten wet at some point and stored wet. I'm carrying one and the smell is so strong to me I know others around me smell it. I have leather conditioned the inside when I got it and outside thinking it would help, it didn't. So, I am here lol

@joeb4586 I wiped it down with no alcohol and scented wipes, not a baby powder scent because I don't like that scent, sprayed it with febreez inside and out, put scented beads inside it along with and open box of baking soda then hing it out on my covered back porch for a few days, not in the sun but just out under my covered porch so it could be aired out and yes it worked. I was determined to get the smell out and doing all the above worked well.

Someone gave me this tip and it worked for my mini lin red long alma: magic eraser. Wet the magic eraser and wring until damp. Gently wipe at dirt marks. Go around the lv monogram as much as possible. It may take a few rounds depending on type of stain ❤

I just did used the Downey ones today. They smell like fabric softner. I got the outdoor fresh scent (yellow top) and really like it. A little goes a very long way as they are extremely potent.

Ugh am I really am the only one who loves a good old bag smell?! It reminds me of old books. It’s like sniffing markers to me 😂
The old bag smell is usually mold, ( I doubt if you enjoy the smell of mold?).
No their are bags that just have a vintage smell, but a lot of the bags that come from japan are the ones that have the mold/mildew smell.....smells like fertilizer almost.

What about a wallet that smells? I washed the canvas and zipper and put dryer sheet inside but the smell is still there.
Open it up & put it in a plastic bag with the beads and just shake it up every couple of days. It will do wonders for it.

I have a chemical sensitivity and I’m trying to remove the perfume smell from my bag because perfume smells give me migraine. The scented beads will give me a migraine for a week 😔 I’d rather smell mildew, like I obviously do not like that but it doesn’t give me a head ache.
Perhaps the baking soda or coffee beans trick would be a better alternative for you?
