This is an interesting slice of Sleeper history, because it's the beginning of the end of Sleeper 1.0. The album wasn't supported by the label, underperformed, and after that the band just sunk.
Are you surprised? Their songs were mostly weak and she does not have a very good voice. The greater surprise would have been if the same old diet of middle of the road indie noodling had sold for any longer. People are not always dumb.
Thanks for sharing this. I loved Pleased to Meet Me. I liked it more than the debut. The It Girl was the best.
