EJ is an incredible bowler and I won't be surprised at all to see him in the finals. However, he has consistently had issues performing on television. Leading a race means nothing if crash right before crossing the finish line. I think that's the thing that separates Belmo from Tackett. Belmo generally steps up when it matters, while EJ chokes. I really like and respect EJ, and hope he can get over this.

Good point. Yeah, he's had some issues on television. Getting better though!! Keep knocking them over EJ!!

I really like EJ Tackett. As an outsider looking in I think it’s just a mental game thing for him. He clearly has talent to dominate when he is dialed in. Jason Belmonte shows how great of a competitor he is because he is not only talented and accurate, but his mental game is VERY good. He seems to stay relatively calm whether shots are good are bad. He hits clutch shots to take advantage of opportunities his opponents leave (to further pressure them). And there seems to be some kind of presence emanating from him that affects his opponents during TV matches. If EJ can master his mental game like Belmonte then I believe that is the type of edge he needs to come out on top more often.
I am such a fan of all these top bowlers though, they inspire me to improve my own game!

Winning a Step Ladder final is always a crap shoot. Aussies have already won 2 tournaments this year. Congrats Sam and Belmo! We just need Jarrod Langford to complete our trifecta.

I believe Beef Stu will get another title this year. He has been bowling terrific. Prather’s wrist is obviously still bothering him. Hopefully it will get better soon.

Ej kind of caught a bad break at the toc he had to wait 3 days to bowl one game. I’m not saying he would have won if they had done the finals on Friday but he would have been sharper and mentally more in the match.

Well if that’s the case, then three others also caught the bad break of waiting 2.5 days

Well I look at it this way going if you're throwing the ball great and let's say for you in a few tournament and you're doing really well that means you've worked hard on your game

I think EJ will be there towards the end, but on any given day he can be beaten. Same is true for all the bowlers out there on tour. They're all professionals. They are all good. They can all bowl lights out . That being said, I'd like to see someone like Daren Tang or Stu Willians or take home the title.

Sure it's part mental. But I think everyone was after EJ, which has to be why everyone played a totally different line. Personally I think the 17-man stepladder is crap. They could have done a 16-man round robin or bracket on Saturday to determine the stepladder, if the goal was to showcase more than 5 bowlers. Going from match to match for highlights, a scoreboard, would be more interesting the way RedZone is for football, or maybe the LIV Golf format.
Also I think they should strip and re-oil for the championship match, which would make it more fair for the top seed and take the advantage away from the challenger. What's the point of getting the top seed, if you're bowling on a thrashed shot?

Well some had to play a different line because they are left handed

I want EJ to win, but he has looked a bit shaky on TV. I hope he figures that out. Simo is always a threat to win. Dom has looked strong this year I wouldnt be surprised if he had a real shot. Let just hope they didnt wake the beast that is Jason Belmonte.

EJ is not the favorite to win. Belmo is. If any English bowler wins the usbc masters and that's a big IF, it would be Dom. Teece doesn't have enough tools in his wheelhouse to win constantly. Stu is better than Teece but again just not a dominator.

More anti-two handed bowler rhetoric here. "Who can beat EJ Tacket?" Uh, I dunno, maybe the guy who just destroyed him in the last major and has been dominating bowling for over a decade?

You just made up that rhetoric out of nowhere. Obviously very few people can beat EJ Tackett considering he's been dominating every single qualifier this year. He earned the #1 seed for a reason. Do you think the final 5 just spawn in the title match?
