@jackregoproductions8649 Thanks, I think I was in my 20s. Now im in my 60s. But still love to rock. I never gave up my records or stereo. I did buy cds. But now i have 3 great turntables and I was a record collector so i still have my young rascals, beatles revolver, monkees . Everything I ever bought. When I was 7 in the 60s. I could order 12 albums for a penny. Then supposed to by a full price record every month for a year. I never did. I was too young to sue. Of course I was wrong doing it. I never kept extra records lol. But that night around mid 80s.a girl hit on me and almost tempted me. Good thing. It turned out to be a cousin of my wife's. Hahaha. But you're right. So different. Girls still smiling at each other and playing with one another. You know they had to know how special this was. Same four that founded the band and had their first concert 39 years earlier. Very few bands get to keep playing that long afterwards.
I worked a Bangles concert in 1987(+/- 2 years) at Six Flags over Texas. Sat on the front row before the show. Wish I could remember who I talked to but two of the members came out and talked. They were nice and friendly. Struck me as good people. I am more of a RUSH, YES progressive rock kinda guy but they were so nice. So have always been a Bangles fan since.
The drummer and bass player are a great rhythm section. Every song they are solid. I loved the bass line on that one song, that sounds a lot like the Beatles "Taxman". The harmonies were also great. She's the best bass player I've seen the Bangles have, since Micki left.
My mind is blown after one song. I loved that cover of that great Simon and Garfunkel tune, and they just slay it here. What great vocals. What a band.
She's the original founding bass player. She's in the blue skirt, and black top; with her hair up. She was a great singer for many years in different bands like Medicine and Blood on the Saddle. Really cool she dusted off the bass and came back for the ladies. Now that Micki is retired from all music. @@marcuspfister2047

I am clearly late to finding this performance. They still play and sound great. I was particularly amazed an Annette's playing. So solid for not being in the band when most of these songs were written. Bravo to all the Bangles
She was on the Paisley podcast and they asked her about that. If it was hard learning an entire catalog of songs from the band, after she left. She said it was just the number of songs to learn and she had a very short amount of time to learn them. She said the actual bass lines were very simple and easy to learn though.
They all sounded and played so good. Might be my favorite concert since Micki left. Really impressed with Annette coming back out of retirement and playing a solid bass. This band is the stuff of legends! Or just full of legendary members!
These women are so amazing! This concert I enjoyed so much. It was really great seeing them come full circle and having family back with Annette, as opposed to just someone from the outside. Sue, Vicki, and Debbi are all still amazing. What a career!
@@royharper2003 A version of it, yes. California 60's rock. That was rock at the time. It might not be what you call rock today, but when this was recorded; it very much was.

This is SUCH a GREAT concert! One of the reasons that makes this so good, they brought Annette back in and decided to go back to their roots. Doing what they did best then. Keeping it simple and letting those guitars rock. In the Annette early days, they were no more than a garage band. No Autotune or backing musicians. They played great live music. This band should've done this after Micki left 20 years ago. They can't be what they were with Micki, without her. This would've been the right decision.
Should've went back to this after Micki left. They kept trying to be the Micki version of the band without Micki. Was never working or would it. Go back to doing what they did best before. A great garage band!
@@Angie80sgirl Then you can't say " no auto tune or backing musicians ". That comment makes no sense when the songs drumming is a recorded backing track. Just saying..........
Being a pro musician myself, I appreciate good vocals and harmonies even more so than the music behind them, and The Bangles deliver the goods on both. Thoroughly enjoyed this show!
I was there working crowd control for ECTLC a ministry from El Cajon. The contract out for us being there went to donation to ECTLC.We worked days before the event, days of the event and days after. This day I was at a establishment on the grounds that faced the stage. This was a very good spot and I along with those at this stage...there were various at the Del Mar Racetrack with other great bands throughout the days and nights of the event just had a blast.
What a great performance. The bass player is amazing. They're all amazing. The production is great. The camera person is ALWAYS in the right place. Love this.
The bass player is their original. Annette Zilinskas. After Micki called it quits for good, they asked Annette back for a reunion show. Things were just like when they started the band. Then they asked her to join the band again and here she is.
She's great as well. But she's retried from music. In fact recently in an interview, she said she has zero interest in music anymore. Annette (the original bass player) is great as well though and is better than what they had at bass after Micki left. @@tomcrown69
Sadly not only has she said she wont ever come back to the Bangles, she just walked out on them in a show in 2004. The second time she quit the band. My understanding is something happened and she doesn't even communicate with anyone involved with the Bangles anymore. @@tomcrown69
Back in the 80s they were dismissed by many as a "passing fad". Wrong! They still rock, and they're still getting better. And Hoffs without high heels or make-up is still hotter than most of the top female vocalists out there.
And damn, plays a very good bass. What chemistry to just step in some 30 years later and keeps the Bangles machine rocking! Impressed to say the least.
A lot of people don't know this. Annette Zilinskas got together with Brad Laner and they created an early genre of Shoegaze and created a band called "Medicine". Annette wrote all the lyrics, including the hit song "Aruca". Sadly when they took what they created to the record company, a label signed them that was in direct competition with her bands label. So Annette was forced legally to drop out of Medicine. She's since rejoined Medicine, just like she has the Bangles. Check out the Bangles revolver sounding song "Dead Time Bummer Blues".
This live performance will probably remain a kind of ‘the Rooftop Concert at 3 Savile road (London)‘ of the female Beatles. ❤👋 Of course I hope I'm wrong and see them play together again.
They said last November both Susanna Hoffs and Annette Zilinskas performed for the Big Star 50th Anniversary. Both have great photos with each other on their Instagram pages, but I can't find any footage anywhere. You can tell those two have a special bond from the messages they post on each ones page and the smiles when performing.
At the time of this recording the amazing ladies of the Bangles were all 60 years old Plus, and the group had been playing together for 38 years, the bass player is their original base player and she had been separated from the band for over 30 years prior to rejoining, long time bass player, Michael Steele, had retired several years earlier. These are truly exceptional women.
Not to mention, Annette (original bass player) was mainly a singer in her other bands. She did play some rhythm guitar. I think it had been like 35 years since she had picked up a bass. So she said she had to not only freshen up on the early material they did, but had to learn the entire Bangles catalog. Super awesome move for her to do that.
Annette the original bass players actually helped start a bunch of famous bands in LA. The Bangles, Blood on the Saddle, the Screaming Sirens, and my favorite; Medicine. America's first shoegaze band. She actually wrote a bunch of songs on the first album, but had to leave the band when they got signed to a label. Her contract with Lou Adners band "The Ringling Sisters" stated that she couldn't be on two labels at once. She's a very talented musician. I still don't understand why The Bangles are not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame yet. They still hold a lot of records for their success as an all female band. They actually had more billboard hits than the GoGo's had.
Vicki Peterson is one of the most awesome people you could ever meet. Talk about tragedy. First the break up of the band and that was a shock to her when Susanna and Michael came in for a meeting and both said they were done. Right after that, her fiance while planning their wedding, he got sick and died of cancer. She was going to give up on all music. Thank God she didn't!
Yep, these very four met up through a pair of ads. Annette the bass player called Sue. Sue called Vicki's roommate ad, but Vicki picked up the phone. The stuff of legends.
Outstanding performance! The harmonies, melodies, chords, riffs, drum beats and vocals are still as beautiful as the ladies performing them. The Bangles always rock the house.
@@ADDIDASSSSSSSSSSSSSS That's for sure. I miss this kind of music. Four awesome ladies 40 years later who don't care about back up singers and extras musicians. No dubbing needed. Just give three of us a guitar and one of us a drum! They should be respected more. But obviously, they don't care. They just enjoy what they do!
@@JamieTheBangles11Fan Giddy up! The Bangles know it's only rock n' roll but they like it, like it yes they do. The Bangles don't need gimmicks because they have legitimate talent. What other bands do you enjoy?

But now i have 3 great turntables and I was a record collector so i still have my young rascals, beatles revolver, monkees . Everything I ever bought. When I was 7 in the 60s. I could order 12 albums for a penny. Then supposed to by a full price record every month for a year. I never did. I was too young to sue. Of course I was wrong doing it. I never kept extra records lol. But that night around mid 80s.a girl hit on me and almost tempted me. Good thing. It turned out to be a cousin of my wife's. Hahaha. But you're right. So different. I wish my grandkids could live a couple weeks in the pastpay phonesno downloads. Jukebox music. The list of artists between mid 60s to late 80s. The greatest. I still like new stuff. Bruno mars is fantastic. Hes more old school. Ive been writing stories a few years in paper and computer. Because so many things probably would surprise, shock, cause laughter. Ì seen great concerts. Met Muhammad Ali. Even got in the ring at Madison Square garden before he fought Frazier I think. Of course it was empty. A couple days before fight. Sorry I rambled on. Just my life wasn't easy. But so diverse. Really great times. Rr hall of fame Gene Pitney from my home town. I met him. My grandmother lived nearby and babysat for him. Anyway I tell it and record it for my children and grandchildren. Someday they may write a book. Lol Thanks guy's! 🇺🇲💙☮️👍🎸🎶
@ I am a little younger than you at 53 and just got a retro turntable and eBay is my fav place. I love searching for this tine. And the 79s too. My fav group is Boston. Great story as well. Subscribed to your channel as well
"I'm going down to Liverpool to do nothing." And believe me. You can!
The Bangles, still catchy four decades later. Great stuff. 💋
Girls still smiling at each other and playing with one another. You know they had to know how special this was. Same four that founded the band and had their first concert 39 years earlier. Very few bands get to keep playing that long afterwards.
I live in Liverpool and would be happy to show Susanna around the city. 😀
Susanna still looks and sings great
I worked a Bangles concert in 1987(+/- 2 years) at Six Flags over Texas. Sat on the front row before the show. Wish I could remember who I talked to but two of the members came out and talked. They were nice and friendly. Struck me as good people. I am more of a RUSH, YES progressive rock kinda guy but they were so nice. So have always been a Bangles fan since.
Yes, I had a similar experience at an L.A. show and walked away that night with a nice Susanna Hoffs guitar pick. Great evening!
That drummer was badass
I've always loved her voice. Her looks make it even better. Love the rest of the Bangles too, Part of my youth.
Which voice? She never had it
Always loved the Bangles.
Played Ireland 1986 as preview to Freddie and Queen.
It's so great to see the band performing together again. We missed you! ❤
Awesome drummer
The drummer and bass player are a great rhythm section. Every song they are solid. I loved the bass line on that one song, that sounds a lot like the Beatles "Taxman". The harmonies were also great. She's the best bass player I've seen the Bangles have, since Micki left.
Was the bass player at the very first and best time when they called themselves "the bangs" yet.
That's one of the best live versions I've ever seen the Bangles do of, Dover Beach. I love that song and they just played it to perfection here.
Band is tight. Im new loving this band and im old im happy i got a new band to listen to.
Susanna Hoff was my first crush , and still is to this day. Not to mention she can sing!
My mind is blown after one song. I loved that cover of that great Simon and Garfunkel tune, and they just slay it here. What great vocals. What a band.
I will always love Susanna Hoffs and I love her since I was a teenager in the 80s
So Awesome to see Annette!!
Which one is she ?
She's the original founding bass player. She's in the blue skirt, and black top; with her hair up. She was a great singer for many years in different bands like Medicine and Blood on the Saddle. Really cool she dusted off the bass and came back for the ladies. Now that Micki is retired from all music. @@marcuspfister2047
I loved her band Medicine. Their album, Scarred for Life is great. You should go check it out. @@marcuspfister2047

Love the bangles music group wow still as awesome as ever xx😊😊
I can’t stop ❤ watching In My Room and The Hero Takes the Fall ! Bangles! What are you waiting to go back on tour!
Sheryl Crow tried to tell them the same thing after Annette, Debbi, and Vicki went on stage to sing "Soak up the Sun" with Sheryl.
That bassline on "Hero Takes A Fall" is so damn good.
All beautiful and talented Ladies.
First time I saw the Bangles, they opening act for the English Beat at Roseland Ballroom in NYC. Incredible show!
Was it these four playing or was Micki with them at that point?
Susanna is the best !!! 🤩🤩🤩
They are amazing . Accomplished musicians . The blend of their voices is their sound . Thank you ladies for your talent and great music .
they'll be forever in my heart for making September Gurls the hit. A treasure of rock history.
Playing drums and singing at the same time is difficult, I am impressed with the drummer. Great band and great songs too.
Debbie Peterson, the second lead vocalist of the band
Nice too see Johnny Cowsill there
30+ years on, and none the worse for wear. They sound great!😎
Amaysing group from my youth, so beautiful songs which I love listen still after 40 years!! Wish more so good songs and come in Croacia!! Manny hellos !!💝💝💝💝💯💯💯💯👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙋♀🙋♀🙋♀🙋♀🌹🌹🌹🌹
Thanks for being the Bangles. Good memories!
THEY ROCK!!!!!
OMG!!
They are my age…..
the are my heroes!!
What a great example of living strong and creative at any age.
Thank you!
Debbi can still slay Going Down to Liverpool
Brilliant show from the world's greatest band!
Absolute legends, pure raw talent. What a real rock band! sounds like.
you call this rock?

No auto tune or backing musicians? Who's playing drums on " Egyptian " ?
@@markcoluzzi5754 It's always been a soundtrack.
@@Angie80sgirl Then you can't say " no auto tune or backing musicians ". That comment makes no sense when the songs drumming is a recorded backing track. Just saying..........
@@markcoluzzi5754 It's one song dude. So yeah, it makes sense. If you can't comprehend amigo, I can't help you.
She is beautiful .. I love it
They have beautiful harmonies.
Agreed. And such distinct, yet complimentary personalities.
A real delight to watch.
Being a pro musician myself, I appreciate good vocals and harmonies even more so than the music behind them, and The Bangles deliver the goods on both. Thoroughly enjoyed this show!
Wow!! teenage crush years coming back... still all beautiful and sounding fantastic ladies!!!
The drummer is gorgeous.
I swear they just get better. Solid rhythm section, lovely guitars, and sweet vocals. 😄
i really really love this song...frim the first time that i heard it 34 yrs.agoin 1989 until today!!!! July 27, 2023!!!...luv ya!!!! BANGLES!!!!....
Прекрасная группа, прекрасная музыка... Браво девчëнкам,, молодцы...
After all these years they still sound awesome
What a great performance. The bass player is amazing. They're all amazing. The production is great. The camera person is ALWAYS in the right place. Love this.
The bass player is their original. Annette Zilinskas. After Micki called it quits for good, they asked Annette back for a reunion show. Things were just like when they started the band. Then they asked her to join the band again and here she is.
I wish Micki would come back. She is one of the world best bassist male or female. Micki is the Bengles without her it’s not the same.
Love Micki, but the Bangles still sound great without her still. @@tomcrown69
Back in the 80s they were dismissed by many as a "passing fad". Wrong! They still rock, and they're still getting better. And Hoffs without high heels or make-up is still hotter than most of the top female vocalists out there.
Nothing wrong with high heels though....
You need your eyes checked
@@Ricardo-cl3vs Bass player still rocking heels.
Susanna Hoffs is my favorite Bangle girl
Annette Zilinskas - Bass Guitar ... so cool she would come back to fill in for the departed Michael Steele.
I didn’t realize he’d passed away... 🙁
@@grahamstrouse1165 michael steele is a woman. She retires
you can always tell those people who don't know much about the band. lol. @@vegobond007
Susanna is an angel. Thanks for posting this video.
Forefathers say girls be silent and woman also, Four Bangles, girls at the time, lightened my soul up more than men and machines ever could.
Love, and still have that 1st lp.
Just found this. Amazing how good they sounded after all these years. Good job Ladies.
This live performance will probably remain a kind of ‘the Rooftop Concert at 3 Savile road (London)‘ of the female Beatles. ❤👋
Of course I hope I'm wrong and see them play together again.
Good to see this as a full on human performance! Nice!
Bravo! A pleasure to revive your music
I heard the whole concert, amazing girls
Great little Gig, great musicians, great vocals harmony, sweet Sussy, great lead guitar, love it ! ❤
@@JamieTheBangles11Fan And she did a great job. She's an excellent bass player.
Yes, well maybe it is because the Bangles ladies are just too exceptional and not headline trashy-bad-girls?@@AmyProckingHard
I love Annette's vocals in Medicine. Check out the Scarred for life album. ua-cam.com/video/2n4dbasUoCU/v-deo.html
Vicky lives for the love music her performance is everything
Vicki Peterson is one of the most awesome people you could ever meet. Talk about tragedy. First the break up of the band and that was a shock to her when Susanna and Michael came in for a meeting and both said they were done. Right after that, her fiance while planning their wedding, he got sick and died of cancer. She was going to give up on all music. Thank God she didn't!
They are the greatest .
I love the Bangles!
They sounds great. Been together 40 years! .. I remember hearing them when we only had AM radio stations in Australia.
Yep, these very four met up through a pair of ads. Annette the bass player called Sue. Sue called Vicki's roommate ad, but Vicki picked up the phone. The stuff of legends.
Still rocking
Priceless
Super concert, super girls!
Totally fab! What a fantastic performance- great songs, harmonies and the drumming and interplay of guitars are stelllar.
Outstanding performance! The harmonies, melodies, chords, riffs, drum beats and vocals are still as beautiful as the ladies performing them. The Bangles always rock the house.
Just to think, these four girls all met up in a California garage for the first time in 1981. Here they were, 38 years later and still rocking it out.
@@JamieTheBangles11Fan The Bangles are why I love rock n' roll, put another dime in the jukebox Jamie. Thanks for your great comment.
