As someone with a brain injury I totally agree about colour mixing. I can do it but it just takes so much energy that I would rather have a huge studio palette so that I can just enjoy painting.
Yes! You don't need to spend your energy mixing at all. I'm totally fine embracing convenient colors.
It's wonderful to finally find someone who loves watercolors like me! 🌹
Awe thank you. I do love them.
New pallets make me happy. I'd love to see you create some botanicals.
So far I have only had time to create one video, but I'm getting there lol
Great choice of basic colours. May I suggest you get a tube of White paint. This is not for mixing but to add highlights when necessary. 🤗
Hurrah! Another artist who dislikes mixing! I thought I was the only one! 😊😊 I like your selections, esp all the purples 💜
Thanks so much! 😊 Yeah I have never been one to mix, unless I absolutely have to lol
You chose a beautiful palette!! I bought the wood one years ago before they had the metal ones.
Now, you have inspired me to order some I really love to replace some that aren’t my favorites.
I’d accidentally got 2 wooden ones so I just sent it to someone on UA-cam who makes cards; designs stamps and dies for 2 companies…she is the sweetest lady…was beginning to get into watercolor again so I knew she’d love it like I did!
I don’t have any business buying more paint but ohhhh I do love my watercolors❤
I love it that you love them too!!
Thank you
Nancy Rolfe
Yeah I really love this brand, especially because they are one of the few to standardize full size pans and the prices are excellent with the quality.
Really enjoyed your video. Thank you!
Thank you!
I am so surprised my favourite Roman Szmal didn't make it into yours, Kori. "Misty Morning", with a lot of water, splits into separate teal and rose edges! Nice just by itself, given you like the two colours it splits into!
As you say each to their own, but do try it again!
In kindred spirit,
Eliza

I do have that color, but yeah, not in my palette. That would be one that I would swap in and out of a studio palette.
@@watercolorwanderingwithk i struggle with Misty Morning ha. It's not one I immediately gravitate toward although I know folks rave about it. Its there on a half pan travel palette though, just to give it "one more try". :) I'm thinking one day I will be out and paint a foggy or gray morning with the color and will finally "believe".
Hi ❤I love your videos ❤
Awe thank you so much.
Many of the colors for your custom RS palette are the ones I would choose as well. I prefer convenience mix greens too but I will alter them to suit what I’m painting. I think the 12 full pan botanical palette just made my wish list because of the spaces to add the RS full pans I purchased open stock. Fun and useful video, thanks!
Oh yeah it has plenty of space for you to add to it!
@@watercolorwanderingwithk 👍
Beautiful 😍
Thank you!
I really enjoy mixing but I also like having some convenience colours. Aquarius green will definitely be in my RS palette when I get round to putting together my palette. It is such a gorgeous green. Your palette looks great!
There are just times I don't feel like mixing or remembering how I got to a certain color haha. But yeah, I do agree it is quite relaxing.
@@watercolorwanderingwithk heh yeah I need to remember to take notes when I've mixed a colour I like, or it'll be a one-off
I completely understand what you're saying about mixing. I love mixing. But I feel the same way about cooking. I can and I do when I have to but I just don't like to. Unfortunately comparing to mixing watercolors, cooking is a bit more essential skill. 😅
Yeah if I can avoid mixing, I'll embrace the convenience ones all the way lol
The pinks and purples look so nice 😍 I have a space for only one roman szmal color and I might get one of the pinks you have 🥰
They are lovely pinks and purples in their line!
I love your curated palette and love fussing over mine and putting together something that speaks to my interests and preferences. Roman Szmal makes it so affordable to explore and I "might' have multiple palettes with their watercolors ;) Pasqualino Fracasso palette was my first one I got from RS and its so unique, it introduced me to new favorites! You didn't prefer their Potter's Pink over Quin Pink?
Oooh I'll have to look into that palette. I really do enjoy creating customized palettes, including adding those convenience colors.
Question: I’ve been jealous of my UK & EU friends long enough. I bookmarked and made a wish list for Jackson’s…however, considering I was quoted a $25 shipping charge to the US by another UK company..I’m hesitant . Do you mind answering how much shipping is?
PS I completely agree with you about a custom palette. I have one “portable” smaller one that I squeezed my 18 favorites in, an all granulating palette and a slightly bigger one with other paints I use-but not as much as the first 2. I also have a couple of others- Rosa's Gallery all single pigments and my kuratake paints I usually only use for my traditional Chinese painting.
So the shipping depends on the size of your order, so I can't really give you a price. One time I ordered a ceramic palette and a set of Sennelier that was on sale, and the shipping was $13.42, but then I had another instance where I ordered a TON of 5mL tubes, but because they were much lighter, the shipping was $7.62. It is definitely affordable shipping though and I've never felt it was outrageous.
Jackson's has a US outlet - you have only to change the currency.
@@watercolorwanderingwithk THANK YOU! I just didn’t want to get stuck with extra shipping & tax that my mail carrier told me I had to pay at our local PO before I could receive…for a small order from a handmade artist in the UK. I refused delivery on that…I wasn’t paying another $30 for 2 half pans…
Great palette! I also love Roman Szmal watercolors and I can't wait for them to come out with tubes!! (They've officially said it's in the works 8D)
I'd be curious if their tubes would rewet as well as their full pans. Some companies it just doesn't work out.
@@watercolorwanderingwithk I hope they do! I've read comments from RS on facebook and insta, when people were probing them for tubes' release date, which said "we're still not 100% happy with the result, so we will keep working on our tube paint formula" 8D
Would be interested in knowing what the palette is called that holds tube paints or pan paints
It is on Amazon right here: amzn.to/3WjOXDJ
It seems like sap green and hookers green should be switched. Love the choices of paints.
Thank you!
Hi Kori, I found your coloring channel a few months ago and just recently discovered that you also have a watercolor channel. I very much enjoy your content. I believe we live very close to each other. I'm wondering what the cute stamp is that you use for your paint swatches?
Hi there and welcome! I bought the stamps from Irit (another artist here on UA-cam) and you can get them on her shop here: iritlandgrafart.com/collections/watercolor-supplies-palettes-more
Thanks so much. I wondered if they were from her.
The problem with Roman Szmal watercolours is they're like Pokemon you have to catch them all. I think I have a serious problem with them 😁
Lol that's awesome
This paint company will be forgotten soon.....like so many, as soon as they see a little success....they jack up the price. Not understanding that the price is what made them stand out. But now they are three same price as Daniel Smith, Windsor and Newton, etc
Mmmm I wouldn't quite say they are the same price. I've been buying all of those brands, and Roman Szmal is still cheaper and goes on sale all of the time with Jackson's for a steal. To be honest, the price increase doesn't offend me. I would expect it for them to keep up with the high-quality standards and profit, and I will gladly pay more to continue purchasing these over Daniel Smith -- which I feel are overpriced. It is, of course, all opinion.
