I don't know, I think this actually sounds like a good idea. I liked chopped salads because it allows a little of everything in every bite and is more manageable to eat, and I think I'd like the sandwiches for the same idea. My city has a poutine week every spring where different restaurants come up with their own version of poutines and people get to try them out for charity (we also have taco week and burger week, same idea) and several of them utilize maple bacon lol. We also have a sub shop that does specialty poutines. They don't currently have a poutine with maple bacon, but they do have stuff like Steak works (cheese curds, philly steak, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, hot peppers, gravy), chicken bacon ranch (cheese curds, chicken, gravy, ranch dressing, topped with bacon), and holiday (cheese curds, chicken, stuffing, gravy, sweet cranberry sauce)

I get the appeal, especially for cold sandwiches. Personally, I can't stand most cold sandwiches(I'll still eat them, just not that into them) because of the layers. I always feel like I'm biting into thick slabs of whatever is on it, especially the cheese. If it's heated up, then it becomes soft and I start to like it again. A chopped cold sandwich sounds like the solution to my personal problem with them.

Yup adding bacon (and other toppings) to poutine is a thing. Some restaurants specialize in poutine with weird toppings. I generally find bacon poutines are too salty because they use the same (already salty enough) gravy as normal poutine. Some of my favourite weird poutine toppings include Montreal style smoked meat, butter chicken, and jerk chicken.

Caesar salad was created/popularized (depends on who you believe actually made the dish, by Caesar Cardini. He had such a popular restaurant taking advantage of Mexico's lack of prohibition laws that he sold out of every dish on the menu and still had customers. The salad was made with what they still had in the kitchen, but the chef claims Caesar stole on of his family recipes and passed it off as his own.

Chopping the ingredients 30-mins to an hour prior to sandwich construction will also change the flavour. I never understood starch on starch... potatoes in burritos or on bread is insane. Its like adding rice to your noodles.

I thought about this as a kid when I classified every ingredient as "bread" (bread, pasta, rice, couscous, etc) and "non-bread" (everything else) lol

normally i'd agree but you said "potatoes in burritos" when burritos already have rice in them that's then wrapped in a tortilla, so they NORMALLY have starch plus a different starch and that one's not a great example. also breakfast burritos commonly feature hash which does indeed involve tiny chopped potatoes so idk man, it really comes down to texture and how much flavor the rest of your ingredients are packing

@AlyssaSoftPaw if you need to stretch out a meal, just make something else like Jook/Congee. One cup of rice can feed a family of 4 or 5.

I feel like chopping the ingredients like this would be helpful for those with food texture sensitivities. And it'd be good if you were doing a large burrito/wrap. Like the kind that takes two bites to eat across where one is meat and one is all vegetable and now it doesn't matter because it's all mixed together. I also feel like you'd be able to mass make the filling and then just scoop the filling into the sandwich for convenance and speed at a food truck or large event
