That was to one person, Jesus knowing his heart condition. Jesus knows each of our heart conditions. While that should be an analysis, it is not a blanket statement covering to all. context. God does not require all to give up their wealth. For example, He blessed Abraham with his faithfulness with wealth. If riches were evil, God would not have used it to bless.
Money runs from the one's trying to pursue it. Money is attracted to management. If we don't get good with money when we have a little. We will get worse when we have a lot.
Jesus warned us about this when He said, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal ...” (Matthew 6:19-20)

The problem is that the money we use is a scam controlled by central banks! Seeking for a better form of money is one of the most honorable quests one can set the sail on. It is the key to all human business. Real money empowers and frees the individual. It enables everyone to accumulate wealth and strife for a better future while not to being a slave to some duke or king.
