I'm blown away. This is incredibly good and unforgettable. I also send a shout out of thanks to M Bash for putting it in the Lying trailer. It went so well with that trailer, made me want to see the film badly. And I also agree that it is definitely reminiscent of Joy Division. Excellent.
God this guy has Ian Curtis's voice. I thought it was Joy Division for a second then I realised I have and know off by heart there work. But whats the weird pause in the middle. Thank you M Bash for having it in your lying trailer as it brought this track to my attention.
Always do your best Do your best, do your best, do it everyday Do your best, do your best, do it everyday A golden rule, it's a must, always do your best With a cheer and a smile, always do your best Do your best, do your best, do it everyday Do your best, do your best, do it everyday A golden rule, it's a must, always do your best With a cheer and a smile, always do your best Do your best, do your best, do it everyday Do your best, do your best, do it everyday A golden rule, it's a must, always do your best With a cheer and a smile, always do your best Do your best, do your best, do it everyday Do your best, do your best, do it everyday A golden rule, it's a must, always do your best With a cheer and a smile, always do your best Do your best, do your best, do it everyday Do your best, do your best, do it everyday A golden rule, it's a must, always do your best With a cheer and a smile, always do your best Do your best, do your best, do it everyday Do your best, do your best, do it everyday A golden rule, it's a must, always do your best With a cheer and a smile, always do your best
this song makes me feel like i'm on the airplane on the way back home from college and there happens to be a space shuttle launch coinciding not only with my flight time but my route. the pilot is tweekin, he's scared like a baby about getting smashed to bits by the impending collision. i know better. i assume the fetal position, and brace for impact. sure enough, the space shuttles owns our plane and everyone dies who isnt in the fetal position. we survivors (me) are invited aboard and given $
Everything sounds like joy division, if you want to. So quit this. It's like saying everything sounds like kraftwerk. what's the use of saying that? it's 2012.
It was from a graduate school seminar in Honolulu back in '08. We were filming his presentation on Heidegger and film while we were all grad students in the same course. It was actually a pretty dope presentation but yea, public speaking might not be the first of Maus' many talents.
This was one of the first John Maus videos ever uploaded. Its stands the test of time of being one of his best songs.
perfect, tears in my eyes....
honestly I wish I could have taken one of his philosophy classes
Me too they are hiring 40$ an hr at the philosophy mill.
Yes.
This has a very Joy Division feel about it. Nice tune.
Sisters of Mercy too
Such a simple song but so well done. Simplicity pays off
forever printed in my brain

Thank God for the Lying trailer or I would have never discovered John Maus. My world was so normal before
jhon is a beauty. that's all
The pause is John Maus giving one of his lectures likely. He's got an MA in Political Science.
j'adore la musique d'aujourd'hui quand elle rest inspirée des Sisters of Mercy

Anyone recall a trailer to a movie about a bunch of girls with kinda a 'Gus Van Sant' style to it with this song set to it? Can't seem to find it.

@YouFuckingHipster literally all music has pretensions
Sounds like "The National". Or do "The National" sound like this? :-D
Everything sounds like joy division, if you want to. So quit this. It's like saying everything sounds like kraftwerk. what's the use of saying that? it's 2012.
Hallooo!
It's 2017......
It's 2018...
It's 2015...
And we still don't have...
Rights for Gays! Oh yeah!
Too bad I was never alone...in my bed...with him.
Lol.
sweet sweet song but if that's him teaching his class.. dude is a horrible lecturer!
He had only just started teaching.
No offense, but these are some genuinely bad public speaking skills.

Wasn't Heidegger a national socialist? Lol
No he was not.
Yes he was. He was also one of the most influential philosophers of the 20th century.
good, but it sounds like joy division....
im not feelin this, but i highly recommend Rights for Gays, if you wanna hear somethin mad funny.
