i absolutely hate these quests playing solo its just chaotic and takes an undisproportionate amount of time i could spend actually hunting monsters them being mandatory just makes me not want to play maybe if i follow this guide it will be less of a hassle
I'm sure this mode is fun to mess around in or farm stuff here and there - but why tf does it have to be mandatory especially for solo players to progress. Seriously.
Absolutely this! Like they're not my cup of tea, but I am glad they exist because some people do seem to genuinely enjoy them. I hate that you have to do them though. I saw the hub urgent is another one and felt my soul leave my body. I've been procrastinating even trying because I'm absolute rubbish at any guard something stuff in any game. I'm going to try this though and hope I don't want to bash my head into a wall like with the last hub urgent rampage I did lol
There are some other Rampage guides I’ve watched (one is 37 minutes long!), that are really good but just too long and redundant. This guide is to-the-point and super concise. Thank you so much and Big Ups!
Duncan, as solo player who are really stupid with tower defense mechanism, and often get B/C rank on rampage, I can’t stress enough how this guide helps me doing better. Thanks man!
Use Cats, not Dogs. Assist Cats for Poison traps to slow monsters down and status, and Gather Cats for Pilfering a few more drops, and also Shock tripper which can cause Thunderblight (I think).
I actually like the gatherer cats with endemic life barrage for rampages. I didn’t want to over complicate the video and I have a palico guide coming out :)
Thank you for this guide, I was getting so frustrated with rampages. I play monster hunter to hunt monsters, not tower defense. I don't even like tower defense games. With this guide I'll be able to farm what I need and not constantly get low rank. You got a sub from me man, thanks again!
@@ayoubelbakkali2297 I've been with this game since freedom 2. And have played every one up to this point. Typically I buy monster hunter for monster hunter, not a half assed, poorly executed tower defense game with a monster hunter theme. I found it to be unengaging, uninspired, and boring. If they had made it a mobile game with this rampage thing it would have been more passable, or even if it's an optional thing, like event quests. But the fact that it's a must in order to progress, just frustrates and bores the crap out of me.
so if i got this correct 1) set up arrows in open areas 2) set up cannons next to gate 3) set dragon canons on the ground in a way they cross streams 4) set up second area before final fight 5) save 1 ground spot for specials 6) any ground slot not being used for the above use bombs did i miss anything?
update, it works. all apex done. just smash your enemies with your weapon when the counter signal goes off. and ride all stunned wyverns. im subscribing thanks.
It's actually funny, I do the opposite of your wyvern and cannons. I want my "kill box" to be anything touching my gate. Protect the lose condition with your most powerful assets and everything else is just extra time for subquests
You can just 2 palicoes with 2 blast weapon. Make sure they are gathering palicoes for more loots and ailments. Ailments is easy as well if you use blast
Okay, the Wyvern Fire trap is just OD and I love it! I didn't even think of approaching Rampages like this, but I'm glad you shared the knowledge on it.
Searched up this guide after taking forever to defeat Ibushi with a B grade. Didn't know about the red subquests, dragon artillery crossfire trick, and definitely did not set up the second area for Ibushi haha. Looking forward to seeing how well/poorly I do solo again. Thanks for the succinct guide.
Just tried the apex Arzuros rampage, it's the second time I had even done the rampage I had no clue there was more then one area, running around with the greatsword was nogood
I didn't know there was a second area either. When Apex Arzuros busted the first gate I just let it go because I thought I failed the quest. When it felt too long I followed it and found the second area
Just subbed on your twitch and couldn't feel better about it honestly. Feels great supporting you and your content. I love the direction you're bringing this channel. Every video is high quality and enjoyable even on topics that don't apply to me whatsoever. These vids keep me going. Thanks alot for the amazing content, man.
@@DuncanCantDie Thank you. Rise was not what a long time PS2 Monster Hunter and MHFU vet expected lol. I wanted Monster Hunter not Tower Defense😂😂. Awesome guide.
whats the best way to get a lot of monster drops during these tho? thats the only one i can never finish solo, i tried riding a lot of monsters but it does nothing. do you get drops for KOs or how does it work?
So, I am back unfortunately. Well, not unfortunately because I love your vids. Thank you for the serious, no jokes help lol. Dude, The Blue Apex is killing me. It's my own troubles. I am not managing the flow correctly. Dang it....sorry just venting.
Great video! I've had some success using the Elemental bombs dropped during the rampage to inflict blights, especially using ZL + X, Y to drop them directly onto a monster I know is weak to that blight. Is this worth keeping up, or am I better sticking to the cannons only?
Definitely worth doing if you can be bothered to ;-p Cannons are great all around and sticking to them will yield more damage and utility in general, but the wirebug bomb drop will absolutely get you more blights. All about what you need to complete there and then in that hunt.
This would be lot better if: manual turrets inflict status Bamboo bomb had 10x damage half cooldown Npc summons had more uses Allow followers. Even tho, with MR5 gear its pretty fun solo now. It was a chore before sunbreak.
I hate how hard this is and it’s stupid it’s a urgent one like why immediately just overwhelm the new player with a new gameplay with all the big guns in the 2* monsters
I hate rampage, I just let others do it and I just ran around so I only had to do 3 to never do it again. I dont meld talismans nor use the rampage weapon. So I couldn't tell you what the grade was for me since I didn't care enough to look and no idea about sub things. Dont enjoy rise as is and rampage pushes it to a boring game
As someone who started hunting in Freedom Unite, this is the absolute best MH I have ever played. That being said I despise the Rampage quests, but this game is far from boring lol. A couple bumps in the road doesn’t mean the trip is ruined.
Thank you for the guide Duncan! Been watching stream all day and waiting to get back into my Twitch account.. But been waiting for your guide on it so I'm not trash at rampages! Thanks for making everyone smarter hunters everyday.
I really really REALLY hate the way these are implemented currently. There's just too much information to digest all at once mid-fight and having half a dozen monsters on screen at once IN THE FUCKING TUTORIAL doesn't help. Clearly this isn't a one-off opinion because there are other comments saying how many players desperately need to see this video - if your game does such a shit job teaching new players basic concepts then you have failed at creating a successful tutorial. From small QOL things like the dogs keeping you from interacting with installments to major oversights like having eight million new concepts dumped on you at once and giving you NO way to stress-free test them out at your leisure (Toadversary, anyone?) its just a MESS of a release and as a solo player I'm very much regretting my purchase. I'm sure rampages really are fun once you're good at them, but GETTING good should be fun and intuitive too.
Too many monsters especially those bigger harder ones to kill and loads of flyers were coming in and being solo this is too much info and too many big monsters to deal with I failed at the second stage of them I know some of the basics but these harder learn blights it’s a lot for me and do forth

If you pick up any type of explosive barrels make sure you make good use of them to hit monsters as soon as they enter from the front barrier.

Hey. Late to the party but: How do i use the wyvern fire? I set it up but it just sits there doing nothing.
Rampages are fun and this definitely helps!
I can't get past the first hub rampage. The one with only 2 waves, Rathian at the end. I don't get it. I hate rampage lol.
Luckily there aren’t many rampages you have to do to progress the story.
