The 90's produced many iconic tv sitcoms we all love. The tv show "Friends" has been deem one of the best tv show during the 90's era, but what about Living Single? Both shows centered around friends who are close enough to be considered like family who go through life together and relatable problems they broadcast that we as fans can relate to. Though let's be honest without the blueprint of Living Single would Friends ever exist.

Living Single= The Office. Friends= The Office USA. The original ( British ) is more intelligent, better written and groundbreaking. The American version owes everything to the British original but has more fans because if exposure and lots and lots of money.
False comparison. The British office was fully recognized and compensated for its contribution and originality. Living single got buried, it was robbed, it's creators. And everybody involved in its production were cheated. Ask someone in gen Z today. If they know living single. They will never have heard of it. Ask him if they knew the office was originally from England. They'll know. Europeans never miss getting credit, whether or not it's due
Chandler was not a childhood friend to either Ross or Monica. He only met Ross in college where they were roommates. That's the only problem I have with your video.
While I’ve never seen living single I have seen friends and I can just say from my opinion that I only think the 1st season of friends is slow to almost unwatchable but the thing is most shows are like that with their first season
This is crazy, While Living Single was airing, Friends was in production. Making it impossible to copy. Friends would have had to rewrite the entire show. And as far as skin color what about Cosby or Different World

The Friends creators stole the show idea itself from the Living Single creators. Doesn't mean Friends didn't have its own special vibe but let's be real.

Yvette Denise Lee Bowser: $3 million
When Friends was later criticized for its lack of diversity, Kauffman donated $4 million ($0.01 of her total net worth) to her alma mater, Brandeis, to establish an African American studies department. The fact that Brandeis did not have an African American studies department in September of 2022 is a peripheral point for nausea.
The fact that the originator of the sitcom concept (of six late-30s singles living in two apartments across the hall from each other in 1990s New York City, with a central character owning one apartment that tied the cast together, and the two guys across the hall) was never recognized after Kauffman and Crane capitalized in $1.6+ billion generated by her creation that they stole?
Abominable injustice. But you know what thieves do well? Gaslight. Diminish. Dismiss. Ignore. And keep raking in those hundreds of millions of dollars at the expense of the innovative artistic people who put a concept never before seen on the map.

Three’s Company from the 1970s inspired both shows, they just added more characters. Young people living together is not a new premise.

Problem solved
Friends had the writers that kept storyline going. The actors of Friends opted out of getting raises for a couple of seasons until each one received a pay increase the next season. As good as Living Single was it could not pull off the crossover appeal that tge Cosby Show had as another black sitcom.
