Thank you for the clear explanation. I had trouble to understand both scalar and vector projections from other tutorials, but with your examples everything is clear. Thx a million! ❤
Up until now, every teacher has recommeneded me to watch you for any topics I never fully got. I know you get this a lot, but you are honestly a great teacher. I hope this gets the attention it deserves
It really amazes me to see how some people can teach! You are a great teacher, and your lesson couldn't go smoother and clearer. I'm following a parallel course on algebra for machine learning purposes and was totally mad at how this part of the topic was taught. Luckily found your channel! Congrats for the nice video and skills!
Thank you for the video Miss Havrot, the tidbit at the start was very interesting to learn of an actual practical purpose vectors have. I wish your daughter good luck in her animation career.
This video is amazingly helpful and clear. Thank you SO much for helping us!! I was so lost when it came to projections, but you explained everything so well!
I LOVE YOU! I've spent two weeks in linear algebra without understanding what was going on. I couldn't graph nor even imagine all the things my teacher were trying to teach, so I decided to go on a Quest on UA-cam to find help for visualize this stuff. And here I am, with the biggest treasure chest in my hands! THANKS! // your new subscriber
Where are you going to school and what are you studying? Just wondering why so many people are watching scalar and vector projections. I do know that it is required for animation and special effects!
@@mshavrotscanadianuniversit6234 Scalar and vector projections are required for calculus 3, which a lot of people will have difficulty to cope with especially when it is not taught properly. I recommended some of my friends to watch it and they loved it
I needed to understand the concepts in this video for data science. And before I came across this video, I watched 3-4 other videos to understand scaler projection and vector projection, but I found them lacking for some or the other reasons. However, this video is perfect, and I love your teaching style. Thank you for creating this.
How lovely of you to comment! Love that you are a prince ; ) I had a few students from Norway comment that this lesson was so helpful for their visual effects program. Thanks for watching and please subscribe and share with others to increase the channel's visibility.

Ms Havrot, I would like to thank you for helping me to understand this topic. It is very easy to understand compared to what i am learning in my college.
Thank you, I really enjoy the way you teach; because you are a very patient teacher about what you're teaching I'm a nursing student who is gonna learn mathematics for AI. Some people just wanna teach things in a very short time, but it's very simpler to understand when you spend enough time to teach them. Thank you again.
@@mshavrotscanadianuniversit6234 No! I'm studying finance and I want to complement it with computer science, data analytics, and machine learning. I used to be a lawyer, so I study a lot of math to catch up with my peers in those quant fields.
Thank you so much for this video! Quick question: You write that ON is equal to vector a multiplied by the cosine of theta. In the dot product, you underline with green the cosine and the a, which is the magnitude of vector a, and not just the vector. Does that make any difference for your explanation?
Yes, you are correct. At 1:42 I emphasize that these are SCALAR projections and then in the last example I said vector projection. My mistake! Of course to be a vector projection all I would have to do is add an arrow to the end of it, but that's not what is there! Thanks for your comment. What a lovely compliment! Unfortunately I only ever taught mathematics, although my university degrees are in biology, (BSc honours), business (MBA) and education (BEd) 😊

A truly great teacher - very organized and excellent
Very helpful video. So easily explained and made me understood
10:12 why did we use the angle outside the triangle instead of trying to find the angle on the inside?
If you used the inside angle (60 degrees) you would not get a negative number which shows you that it is in the opposite direction of vector q.
When would I know if I need the angle inside or outside the triangle?
You will be given the angle between the two vectors
Thank you so much it helped me alot the best video to understand the scalar and vector projection

Ms. Havrot i think there is a mistake in calling a vector projection instead it should be scalar projection at 2:48
