Yeah, she never recovered from her divorce. It broke her heart to tear apart her family. She fell into a deep depression, and never bounced back. She was all about her kids, and she lost them. I hope her Ex husband is happy with his handiwork, the bastard. That Poor woman suffered later in life, RIP. People are just awful sometimes.
I worked on her house in the late 90's, she really was a lovely person, always asking about my kids when I called there and her mother was a typical Irish mammy, wanted to know how we all were. How many famous people would make you a cheese sandwich when you were there working late. To be fair her husband was always nice as well, who knows what happened between them. RIP Dolores.
Dreams, for sure, but find the original video, not the Official video. Same soundtrack, but the original was done years earlier when they were just a bunch of kids starting out, and Deloris was not all glammed up, just a young girl, harmonizing with herself, to a great song she wrote. ua-cam.com/video/2IzV6tXK9Cw/v-deo.html
The Cranberries is one of my all-time favorite bands. When Dolores O'Riordan died I was shattered. She had a voice that could flip from fire to ice in two notes. The bands songs cover so many different moods and themes. Check out the moody song Dreams, the playful Just My Imagination, the swing of Stars, the haunting Pretty, the lyrical You and Me. They have so many great songs it's really difficult to point out a few. Thanks for highlighting them.
I remember I was about to make a trip and I almost canceled it because I was devastated. She was such an incredible artist. We all miss you so much Dolores.❤️
This song has always been one that makes my heart hurt. The way she was able to put so much emotion into her words without it sounding like a whiny song... gah... so good... i remember Jr High and high school all my friends listening to pure pop (like Britney spears type pop, spice girls)... and then here's me jamming to the cranberries, Blind Melon, (old) No Doubt, Sublime, Sound Garden. My friends thought I was the weird one. Now they are into "old school alt music" which is all the stuff I've been listening to for 20-25 years.
This is such a rich song, you get elements of bass, orchestral, acoustic, synth, voice, percussion, all just alongside each other and it works perfectly. Can't think of many songs that combine so many different styles of music into a single composition. (I'm not a musician so if some of those words are not entirely accurate, you know what I'm *trying* to say...!)
Can't imagine what it's like hearing this song for the first time, can't even imagine what it was like for the band the first time Dolores started singing it for them, all I know is the intro is the soundtrack to my first kiss.
Omg I never clicked so fast in my life. I was about 13 when this came out. Looove. Memories 💕 This song is everything. Favorite of theirs. You’d like her voice on Ode To My Family and Dreams is fun and catchy.
This was their first big hit and I remember being as blown away by it and by that beautiful first transition at the :40 mark as you were. Just such an ethereal, dreamy song - Dolores O'Riordan's voice could do no wrong in my book. Thanks for helping to keep her music alive. RIP, Delores.
Dolores evokes the same emotions in me as Karen Carpenter. Just guts me that voices like that are silenced Her solo album from 2007 'Are you Listening' is just a great listen
The band behind her, the song writing, the production work, the layering... everything was perfect and still the character in her voice stands above it. She was able to pack in emotion that seemed effortless, and the vocalizations that were not lyrics were nails in our hearts. I do not risk listening to the Cranberries when I'm driving. I don't know if it is the melancholy memories I've bound to the timeframe or the sadness in the melody, but it isn't safe to cry when you're behind the wheel.
The Cranberries were one of my favorite bands from the 90’s. I love the grunge and alternative rock of that era. So many amazing artists from that era have passed away. Dolores O’Riordan saddens me the most. A rare female rock artist with such a uniquely beautiful voice
Had the great pleasure to interview them when I was at university in Toronto. They had not hit it big yet, and they were fantastic to deal with and extremely humble. It completely broke my heart when Dolores passed, found the recording of that interview and listened to it for the first time in 15 years. Was tough.
Love your reaction, this beautiful brilliant glorious song is just divine, Dolores had the voice of an angel. I think this music just touches your soul you don't even have to be indie or alternative rock fanatic (like me) to love this song, it grows on anybody regardless of their prefered music genres.
I remember the first time I heard this song, in the back of a car sitting with friends and this song came on and it was like she was describing everything I was feeling in that moment. I asked who it was "The Cranberries" and I bought the cassette tape as soon as I could and played it over and over. They have so many great songs.. some of their best were never singles, imo..."Empty" and "Daffodil Lament"... are two of my favorites.
Of all the big musical names that have passed in the last few years, her passing hit me hardest (well maybe along with Tom Petty). She had such a wonderful, unique voice. Such a shame but she'll live on forever with her music.
The late Dolores O'Riordan... Still headstrong, and knocking people for a loop. Even after she's gone, the impact still lingers. May her continuing journey, be blessed.
Jayvee, must listen to Enya, international Top of the Charts well known Irish Celtic singer voice of an Angel . Perhaps you have heard her songs, Caribbean Blue, Orinoco Flow, Only Time and the list goes on and on. She is remarkable and out of this world . Another sensational popular New Age artist is Enigma and their songs Sadness, Return To Innocence, Mea Culpa ,Beyond The Invincible and many more. Whenever you get a chance, hope you can do a reaction to them.
great reaction..and oh man, i think i can see you tearing up at just about the exact moment when everyone tears up listening to this- it's one heart breaking song- thank you for reminding me, and noting that transition point at the beginning-
No Need to Argue is one of those rare albums that to this day I still play and love every song. Linger introduced me to The Cranberries and the unbelievable voice of Dolores.
I watch a lot of reactor's on UA-cam and I can honestly say you are one of my faves. It's obvious your responses are genuine. Thanks 4 the channel big guy!

Check out “Dreams”. It’s a great song of theirs. It was the song playing in the background at the very end of the movie “Mission Impossible” (the first one) where Tom Cruise & Ving Rhames we’re sitting at that cafe.
Oh that keening and Limerick accent.. RIP Dolores... you are missed by the world... it's been a little over three years now and still the void remains... and always will.
Only a few female vocalists make my hairs stand up, one is Karen Carpenter the other Dolores. Such a harmonic range. Can I suggest a couple of out there reviews that I have not come across by anyone? First the prodigy and there's not much to review vocally with them as they started as a British rave act, Liam Howlett was the only artist signed as he was the producer, Keith (RIP) Flint, Leeroy Thornhill were dancers and Maxim reality was the live show MC. Their first album (experience) was dance oriented, by the time of their 2nd album (music for the jilted generation) you could hear more industrial elements start to come in (tracks like no good start the dance, their law and voodoo people) by the 3rd album (the fat of the land) they were a morph of dance, punk, grunge taking influence from RATM and pantera as well as the sex pistols another punk band that never really gets covered and is my 2nd choice (god save the queen, anarchy in the UK)
I'm a little late to the party but I had the exact same reaction to this song as you did when you heard this again. Wow. There is something about her voice that is ...... I don't know..... its a feeling I get and when I saw your reaction, I knew you felt exactly the same thing. Loved your reaction! ✌️
RIP Dolores O'Riordan, such a lovely human. She deserved better.
Hers was one of the most distinctive and wonderful voices in all of rock music.
@@neilpeartspurplenose8739 It wasn't Dolores's divorce that killed her; it was her childhood sexual abuser.
👍🏻❤️☮️😢

Dreams, that should be your next, but any of their songs are amazing. No one has a voice to best Dolores, RIP
I chose Dreams as well.

All their albums that I have ever listened to are amazing!!
🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪 our Irish angel, she'll never be forgotten.
this song is stunning...it stunned me in 93 as a teen and it stuns me all these years later. A thing of beauty.
She has a Celtic turn to her vocals. Unusual, special.
I've read on other pages it's called keening. Beautiful.
She has a haunting voice...in a good way that is...totally unique
Yes it's keening a traditional style of singing at Irish funerals and wakes.
My fellow Irish blood she is to meee!!!
Sean nos singing. Literally translates as old style.
The Cranberries were brilliant. R.I.P. Dolores.
@@CORPORALWATERS what a stupid thing to say

The Cranberries - Ode to My Family So good. Check it out.
My favorite by them. Crazy vocal range
My favorite song
only a very recent thing, but Dolores' voice has me in bits. Cant cope with it.
I love Ode-such a beautiful song.
Sean Mitchell

As well as “dreams”
As others have suggested "Dreams" is beautifully sung by her.

This song gives me goosebumps, what a beautiful masterpiece

Nice words and so true.
Yes. Linger indescribably permeates my soul. One of my all time top faves.
one of the top 10 song of the nineties, easily.

You wouldn't have been weird in Australia, because everything you were listening to was charting on our Top 40.
This was their breakthrough hit that made them internationally famous. Amazing song, Dolores is missed
She had such a great voice. Love The Cranberries...

Pentatonix did am amazing rendition of Dreams that they released a few months ago!
She did have a great voice.A great group.
This is why Linger is the Cranberries song I love. Everyone reacts to Zombie because its their most iconic song, but her vocals here. 😍😍
This is a beautiful song, by far my favorite from the Cranberries.

"When you're gone" is an amazing song.
One of my all time favorite band! ❤️ Dolores. I saw them live twice, and I miss it! 😔
This song is nothing short of a masterpiece. So happy you got to listen to this. It really is absolute magic.

I'm just a dumb country boy...This song kicked my soul. Love to hear it.
Instant chills right from the beginning. Every time.
Same here, and since I first heard it in 93
I always forget how beautiful her voice is too. Its stunning.
