5 Best RIFFS on each METALLICA Album

- I will still release a 'Ranking every Beatles Album' video, sooner or later.
Today I'm here to rank 5 riffs on every Metallica album.
Reminder that harmonies that were included in my Top 15 Metallica Harmonies video aren't listed here, to don't be so repetitive.
#metallica #metal #guitar
Since no one got the thing
In MOP part it (3:15) starts with Andy Warhol name appearing instead of Master of Puppets for some seconds
That is a great riff. I’m pretty sure that riff is why Burton got song writing credits. I remember seeing a picture on a documentary with their cassette riff tapes and Burtons list this riff as Bowie…. They made Bowles riff better in my opinion. I’m also convinced they ripped Tom Sawyer in the 2nd half of Sanitarium.
hello
Metallica is my favorite metal band. Bowie my favorite musical artist of all times! So cool that they were listening to those amazing early '70s albums while writing "Master"...
"...Ziggy sucked up into his mind...like a Leper Messiah..."
How nice of you to include jasons bass on justice
Now there really is justice for all.
Bass too loud
Lars, probably
also the remastered Death Magnetic
And Justice for Jason
You mustn’t have seen Metallica play battery live this tour as they now always play the pre solo breakdown section which is awesome
Oh, thats great then
@@Ryu_Ake ua-cam.com/video/GLg2ZbqXmLU/v-deo.htmlsi=m1JrnG9W3vkpnIB-
@@Ryu_Akecould you also do maybe the 5 worst riffs from each album or the 5 best solo from each album? Good job man
@@m.ariong i will do some other stuff first but lets see
Yeah this guy doesn’t know his shit
Kirk really wrote few riffs, but when he did he did well
Actually theres a lot more than this
@@jeovanygodoy666 I know I know, but these riffs are so good
Phantom Lord's clean riff is the MOST IMPORTANT Metallica riff. Why? It's the first clean riff the band ever did and set the stage for Metallica even having a clean guitar setting in future songs.
I’ll admit it’s also one of my favourite clean riffs they’ve done
Yep Dave Mustaine wrote that riff and many more.
The post solo riff in Master of Puppets is from the David Bowie song “Andy Warhol” and the reason it’s on a Metallica song is because at the time of writing, supposedly Kirk and Cliff listed to a lot of Bowie. Leper Messiah is also a David Bowie reference, soo… 🤘
People really didnt get it.
Watch it closely on MOP part, I recommend to start on the thing that should not be part, pay attention on the song title
Fun fact, they actually started playing the Battery breakdown riff again. + In the latest Fight Fire with Fire live, James plays the intro fast riff the same as the studio version. (he plays the notes in between lol)
Dude, how can you not add The struggle within?
This song is a masterpiece! The list is very good though.
On Load, I'd add more Ronnie, Ain't my bitch, In Reload Bad seed and Attitude, Such underrated songs!
Load era indeed awesome, it's got a song for everybody!
Hero of the day and poor twisted me leitmotifs are awesome, and devil's dance is heavy as hell (what i'm saying is metal needs a little more echo). And Slither rocks, really
ALSO totally agree with Struggle Within, that post solo riff is just mwah
So short, too short
Also too short and almost as thrashy as Through the Never (where is too much thrash and too little thrash? Who knows!) is that break on Don't Tread On Me. THA Headbanger!
Im happy to see Damage Inc. getting some love. Its my favorite on MoP
(Damage incorporated.) Go! (Cue epic guitar solo)
That Kirk riff at 3:35 on damage inc is by and far my favorite Metallica riff ever. Second would be the riff following the first riff at the beginning of disposable heroes right before the bass rolls in, absolute brute riffs both of them.
So glad to see some recognition for To Live Is To Die, genuinely one of the most heart wrenching pieces of music I have listened to.
I agree with the reload pick that bend is immaculate! Love the vid, some good takes and some hot takes
You actually inspire me to make videos dude. Do a top 10 worst/best songs of theirs (your opinion) or misheard lyrics
The bass on ajfa actually caught me off guard it sound so weird to me
LEGIT
the outlaw torn uncut version has that jam session they had to cut off and its honestly so great because the riff/solo is actually james and i also appreciate the bleeding me shout out! My first tattoo is of that song as its my fav one by them
I’m assuming the uncut one is the 10 minute long version?
@@huntzzio yes it is and it's the version I listen to every time after hearing it the first time because it feels more complete and let's James shine more which the Load/Reload era was where James started doing a little more lead and that version comes a a full stop instead of fading out like the official one which goes back to me saying it's more complete
Load/Reload and St Anger are full of amazing riffs
They’ve been playing the Battery interlude live lately apparently (I believe)
Crazy to not include the main Four Horsemen riff, it's an absolute face melter.
Also, I know Blackened has a lot of great riffs, but the best is still the intro one. Jason's finest moment as a songwriter right there, just crunchy and fast and erratic and brilliant.
Very good list! You point out many riffs I enjoy too!
Quite awesome ratings and man you hit with Am I Savage being #1 for HTSD, this riff and song itself just fucking slaps
something that you dont see past AJFA is that the guitar tone (specially RTL) is like if you took a modern guitar tone, grunge-ififed it, and added some bass, i love it.

@@atlassian76 Such a great ballad, Metallica should play it live again
Great vid. I can hear the bass in Ajfa❤
Will you do a video in which you rank all Metallica songs? Keep up
I thought I've already done it
Lets wait a bit to make it
Another cool riff is the pre solo riff on leper mesiah after the 3min mark
3:50 thanks for add the newsted bass on this song
fun fact: the post solo riff of master of puppets, written by cliff burton, actually comes from a David bowie song called Andy Warhol, because cliff was a big David bowie fan.
but then its not writen by cliff?
@@4md17 not the exact same
struggle within after solo riff is golden
That one, I just noticed it later.
Freyends riff is always amazing to see. You could do a list of your top riffs under the solos.
I cant believe the pre-solo riff from you must burn isnt on here thats gotta be top 3 riffs on the album
I do have to say they are playing the breakdown riff drom Battery again during this current tour. Saw them in Arlington
i really forgot that riff on The Day That Never Comes, i learn it tomorrow
I like how you put all of Rob’s contributions for Death Magnetic. Rob’s stuff are fun
Great video my friend. You should do the same but with Megadeth, they have some beautiful riffs on a lot of albums like the opening from Holy wars, the post-solo riff from tornado of souls or the riff from Night stalkers from their last album
the riff from The Day That Never Comes around 5:43 mark also kicks fucking ass
My top:
Kill Em All - main riffs from Jump in the Fire and The Four Horsemen
Ride The Lightning - main riffs from Escape and Fight Fire With Fire
Master of Puppets - Breakdown riff from Damage Inc (broken gallope)
And Justice For all - EVERY RIFF FROM TO LIVE IS TO DIE🖤
Black Album - main riff from Through the Never
Load - main riff from Wasting My Hate and Bleeding Me
Reload - main riff from Bad Seed
St.Anger - main riff from Purify and Sweet Amber
Death Magnetic - main riffs from My Apocalypse, The End Of The Line and Broken Beat & Scarred
Hardwired - main riffs from Atlas Rise, Hardwired, Spit Out The Bone, Murder One. And Breakdown riff from Am i Savage
72 Seasons - all riffs from Inamorata
i smiled when you added a bass version of ajfa
The God That Failed is indeed underrated, and Carpe Diem Baby
Totally agreed
Cliff actually wrote the post solo riff in Master of Puppets if I'm not mistaking
Honorable mention on ReLoad for me is the Slither main riff. Listen to it again people. It's actually really cool
KEA - I’d say “Seek and Destroy” would be in my list of five best riffs.
Can’t fault the choices for Ride and AJFA: I’d put “Sad But True” in the Black Album and “Devil’s Dance” for Reload, “Dream No More” instead of “Am I Savage” for Hardwired.
Ahhh Man U should have added that slow heavy pre chorus riff from no remorse
This one is pretty good too
Not having shadows follow in the top 5 is criminal. That’s the best riff on the album easy
100 percent
I'm psyched that you didn't ignore Beyond Magnetic. I love those tunes, at least 3 I'd swap to put on DM, if not all four.
I actually love the pre-solo riff on Jump In The Fire over the main riff (the main one is still good)
3:15 you have cliff to thank for this one. Hardest riff in the song really tough to get down 100%
this riff is in david bowie song, so no, cliff didnt wrote em all.
Idk what it’s called but the riff on blackened where it does the chorus but with the guitar is so good
I agree with alot, appreciate the recognition for wasting my hste but i wouldve added the clean guitar part of the verses in thorn within
4:56 yes yes yes yes yes yes and YESSS
5:09 icl i like the little breakdown transition it has between the verses more
5:17 really? it’s a great song but like okay
5:54 yes yes yes yes yes and yesssss
I didn't realize how cool kirk's part in memory remains was until I saw them live.
Edit: same with the riff in the middle of You Must Burn. not the one in the video but just afterwards
Solid list. I like how most of your list isn’t the main riffs of a song
Awesome to see another sweet amber enjoyer
No Disposable Heroes staccato intro ? And Sad but True riff ?
My favorite riff in Load is the main riff to Thorn Within. It's pretty underrated and It's a really great one. Super catchy.
Really great song in general, James plays the short melodic solo and cool licks in the outro.
Finally some justice for am i savage
What great content
Happy that you picked Judas kiss' chorus riff, people should notice it more
I 100% agree on “…and justice for all”…”to live is to die” has the most beautiful interlude…and “Sweet Amber” probably had the coolest riff❤️
riff at 3:16 is cliff’s, it’s based on a bowie melody. so, so goddamn good.
frayed ends of sanity mentioned 🙏🙏
I came here to see if the pre-solo riff from Frayed Ends was on the list. I was not disappointed.
Oh shit! I forgot how much I love METALLICAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
solid damage inc take
instrumental versions of load/reload would be amazing
Eye of the Beholder is super underrated, the whole song sounds like a breakdown to me, and especially that intro👌👌
6:16 agreeeeed yes i love that song
6:28 the 5 main bluesy songs in that album are sooo good
6:54 basedddddd maybe 2x4 though
7:16 love this song
7:28 this song has always been weird
7:39 2nd best song in album
7:54 underrated song and riff
8:02 now THIS is the most underrated song of all metallica
Bleeding me and Outlaw torn are masterpieces
"Just a Bullet Away" wasn't dedicated to Layne, "Rebel of Babylon" was.
Inamorata's outro riff is really good
Man, i fukin love Metallica (and all of his albums)
The post-solo riff from master of puppets was actually written by David Bowie. It’s in his way earlier song “Andy Warhol”
Cliff Burton took inspiration from Davie and added it to this masterpiece such a good song
The inamorata riff right before the outro riff is so fire idk why it isn’t on here
It is literally explained in the intro, on description and in 72S top 1.
@@Ryu_Ake oh I’m not talking about the harmony I’m talking about the riff at 8:52 that riff hits so hard
how did metal militias main riff not make the list it goes so hard
The 2nd rank on black album, its really good part but its not the case, isnt that part called "clean solo" ? I wasn't know that was called riff
The post solo riff on The Struggle Within
On MoP I've heard the Post Solo Riff was by Kirk, but I don't have full confirmation
I literally thought to myself "King Nothing" is going to be the first. It was too easy, such a killer riff
The post-solo riff in Master Of Puppets was heavily influenced by David Bowie’s “Andy Warhol.” It’s basically an homage to the main riff of “Andy Warhol.”
Hwtsd and death magnetic are such underrated albums
Murder One has 2 riffs that absolutely amaze me
I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING IN THIS VIDEO
The riff of to live is to die was bited by dragonforce
3:15 cliff wrote this part, it was inspired by a david bowie song
Altlas rise riff sounded a litle like Iron Maiden
A lot
THE BEST RIFF ON LOAD IS “THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT” RIFF
Your take on Sweet Amber is on the money.
3:18 was written by cliff, @Ryu_Ake it's the reason he was included in the writing credits for the song
Yeah people really dont got the joke
I wonder what metallicas final concert will be like? Obviously by what theyve said it might not be for another 20 years.
Dyers Eve post solo riff is my favorite on Justice
Mustaine just reeks off the whole No Life Till / Kill Em All
4 songs not the whole
Kirk has a few kickass riffs on 72 seasons. You might mention that later on, I'm not at the end yet.
3:26 i think it's cliff who wrote that part
Gotta add in that bass for AJFA
3:46
where's the bass version of this album, is it on streaming
I personally like the main riff on ronnie but i agree with most of this list regardless
How crazy is it that my phone rumbled all throughout the AJFA section?
Hell and back main riff is awesome
He is in the zone
I would add Ronnie and 2x4 to Load)
素晴らしいチョイス
saw them open for Ozzy in 86.....Cliff was there......what a show! then Jake E Lee after
