The net house is proving traditional garden wisdoms aren't always true! You don't have to rotate your brassicas and you can grow them with strawberries! Love it!

Yes Indeed Claire 🙌 If the focus put on creating healthy soil/soil life/live soil .... anything is possible. I found soooo many worms in these when I was digging out the strawberry runners, I actually felt bad as I was concerned for the worms safety from my trowel ... They LOVE the semi decomposing woodchips on top 💚 Thanks for watching/commenting ✌️🌿

Harvested my last yacon plant this week - tubers all healthy, and some large rhizomes for replanting in a couple of months. Rhizomes in pots indoors from earlier harvested plants are already sprouting. Planted some first early potatoes today (Lady Cristl, Arran Pilot, and Belle de Fontenay), and just ordered a couple of pineapple guava shrubs...looking forward to hopefully sampling the fruit in a couple of years. Potted on the tomatoes yesterday - growing 8 different varieties this year including Cherokee Purple, which interestingly have got noticeably bigger root development than all of the other varieties.
Not having any undercover growing space i've struggled with growing any lettuce leaves for the last few months, so very envious of your harvest glut.

HI Tony - wow you have been busy! Good on you - we really must get our early pots in outside too this week, thanks for he reminder! We have a couple of Pineapple Guava's here too (or Fejoa as I know them in NZ) Dan's been growing them on in pots for a few year, but we just recently placed 2 into the food forest a few weeks ago. Undercover space is defo a blessing for sure - we are very grateful 🙏 Lettuce is pretty hardy though (especially winter varieties) they can be started quite early too, so you can get salads outside pretty early. Happy Spring, look fwd to hearing more ✌️🌿

Onions are a heartbreaker every year, I agree. I'm really sowing heavily next year, even more so that this year. Then when the ones that actually emerge start to die after a few weeks because they're not sown deep enough it's like NNOOOO! Just a hard seed to start I find, even with fresh seed. F1s usually very reliable.

Hi David, OMG - yes - I get exactly the same with seed not being deep enough too and I never seem to learn to trust and sow them a little deeper the following year either !! 🤣 I think home saved seed for onions would be a good option where possible 💚 thanks for watching ✌️🌿
