Mike!!! Add a 3 way valvee. One side goes to SH tank to work as normal, and the other side connected to a drop tube that goes into your buffer tank. When you finish washing a house, just turn the 3 way valve to the water position to rinse the injector.
Update:Mike mentioned a 3 way in another comment. Hopefully both women. Yup that's how I'm doing mine. Except in between the 3 way and DS inj I have another shut off so when I take the DS inj off nothing is guna come out via siphoning. One day I'll make the bypass set up. But one that completely bypasses the injector so it full flow. Also it has brass fittings on the metering valve.
You could use some sticker paper and design a sticker to go just outside the grommet to show the metered settings. Still super cool! Thanks for another great video!

Hi Mike, really enjoy your videos. I also own a pressure washing company in Ohio Chillicothe. We are now rounding out our first year in business and I had a question I have a 800 IGX Honda pressure washer like you do. recently we’ve ran into issues where with the 20 inch surface cleaner when we go to wash concrete it is severely Boggs down the engine to the point where it sometimes dies. I took out the unloader, cleaned it out even soaked in vinegar. I got it adjusted where it doesn’t die but it really bogs down the engine and the pressure isn’t what it should be. The surface cleaner used to float in the air when you pulled the trigger and pulled up on it but now I won’t even do that and you can tell the pressure is much lower. It’s still cleans but the pressure is not what it used to be. Is there any problems that we could look into ourselves that you can think of that I could be thanks again.
Great question. I would like to say it’s the unloader. I could very well be wrong. The only thing that will make the machine bogg down is some kind of restriction. You might also look at the gun on the surface cleaner.
Do you change your Pentair valve yearly? I used one just like you show in this video and it disintegrated on me about 1/2 way through the season. I had a few issues with my downstream injector getting stuck open and found small white chunks of plastic lodged in the injector. Last place I looked was that Pentair and sure enough the internal threads of that valve had started to flake or chip off when I opened and closed it. I cut the valve in half to discover this because I was down to this valve having to be the issue and I had to see. Anyway that was my experience just wondering if you ever had issues with it either. Thanks Mike great stuff as always.

This comment is for anyone who can help me better understand what is going on here....this was my first year washing. I built a 12v system and it has worked great, with the exception I would like to get a few more feet in distance and a little more volume. I have been looking into DS'ing and thought I about had it figured out until I watched this video. I thought the different size injectors took care of the percentages for DS'ing? In general, I thought a 2.1 would be just under 1% and a 1.8 would be right around 1% or maybe just a little more. Why the need to put a valve in the mix when these injectors are so close in percentages? I may just have to stick with my proportioning valves and 12v if this gets too far in the weeds with the math for about a few tenths of a percent.
You ask a great question. You are correct, the different injectors will shoot different percentages. But removing/replacing injectors takes time. This little Pentair valve can be turned in seconds.

Yes sir. It’s on the list. Thank you my friend!

Thank you Walter. Great idea.
Great job! You can use a non-metering valve also with Viton seals. Lot cheaper!
Thank you my friend. A lot cheaper than $30?
That's a good nugget right there. Nice Mike!
Thank you Rick!
Looking sharp young man👍
Thank you!
Get after it Mike!! coming along nice!!

I may do something like that for this season. Curious to see how you rinse your downstream injector with the set up you described.
He'll see the comments about the 3 way.
I didn’t read the other comments but will take a look.
I don’t, usually. I need a 3 way ball valve for rinsing the injector.
Hooray, I'm not the only one who makes things more complicated! Nice rebuild, I'm doing the same right now...making just as many corny jokes too 🤣🤣
It snot funny! LOL
Yup I like super complicated but it works. Got to keep the old noggin working.

Have you thought about throwing in a small 3 way valve to rinse out that downstream injector?
Yes. It’s on the list. I have it ready to install.

@@jasongarrett1390 I can absolutely see that. At least the latter.
With the valve wide open, your still only going to be able to draw a little over 1% correct..?
Thanks,
Bryan
Right. It doesn’t create more… only less if you don’t want as much.
Thanks Mike. ✌🏼
2.5% is the theoretical maximum but that's theory. 20% of 12.5% SH.

I will be adding a 3 way for rinse. Still yet, they certainly don’t last forever. Hey man, I appreciate the comments.
@@TheFreshRinse I had a three way as well. Could have been a bad valve, I know they are supposed to be bleach tolerant. Thanks for the reply.
@@mperry7434 Tolerant is a good word. Certainly not bleach proof

Great video Mike. If you had to guess, is your injector an 8:1 or 10:1?
Thanks
Prolly 10/1 or 12/1
Yo fresh… just thought of this.. does this rebuild include your strobes on the back gate?
It does not… but it’s not out of the question.
Why no dual barb injector on this rig along with a metering valve for degreasers?
Great question Todd. I found I rarely used it. And batch mixing is extremely simple for me.
Do you have a plan to downstream degreaser if needed?
@@TDiller419 I don’t. If it is absolutely necessary, I’ll just remove the drop stick from my SH and put it in degreaser
