thanks for explaining all this, especially for a lot of the younger guys out there who might be thinking about embarking on this journey. I thought they were letting the 4th guy on the team event fence too. also, just wanna put in my 2 cents and say that this whole system is fucking stupid because it leaves out lots of strong fencers based on where they were born. There are guys literally in the top 20 of the world who might not participate in the olympic games. It should be based on FIE ranking or simply open to top 4 from each country. all the rest is a robbery.
for the zonal individuals is it possible for kim junho to qualify instead of Yan? He is getting worse and worse results but his ranking is still much higher than Yan
Kim Junho will not qualify with zonal quotas it's impossible. He will qualify with the Korean team for sure. And even if the Korean team did not qualify, zonal quotas only apply for one fencer per country, so logically Oh or Gu.
@@fencingbrothers6266 Yes, but if he qualifies with the team as a reserve, he wouldn't qualify for individuals, right? So he could qualify from zonal individuals, or is there a rule that you need to be from a country that has not already been selected teams?
@@gabrielbabayev2842 if he is in reserve he will be in reserve... Max fencers for individual is 3/country so if he wants to fence in individual he needs to be at least the 3rd korean
@@fencingbrothers6266 Yeah, nobody knows... FIE requested additional information on 110 of 120 russian fencers from the list presented by russians. It looks like all of them are connected to military services.
Amazing video!
partly thanks to you!
5:31 i believe lokhanov actually retired due to injury

Appreciate it !
Thank you for the compiled updates bro 🤙🏼
Hello from South Africa. Great video, although you have the wrong picture for Renier Veitch when you mentioned zonal winner takes all
Thanks for your comment, I thought I had found the right photo...
It's understandable we are a small fencing nation😄.
Stay safe✌
Thank you! 🙏

Does USA still have a chance of having Daryl Homer on the team due to his injury at the last World Cup?

One important note: Ukraine will miss all the tournaments where russians will be present.
Yeah we'll follow this closely... We don't know what's gonna happen
