what was painful for me was them constantly thinking 'meets it beats it' for the enemy health, only to be proven wrong time and time again, and still thinking it...

Seems like the heart is the enemies health and the yellow circle in the opposite corner is their armor got to get above the armor to hit or to dodge their attack and their health or higher to attack for an instant kill
Heart is health. your roll does less, you take damage. roll is equal = no damage to either, roll is higher, you kill. the yellow circle is how many coins you get for beating it.

When you match your damage with the constitution of an enemy I’d imagine it cancels out. Probably why when delirious got 3+1 damage on a spider with 4 health, he didn’t take any damage and didn’t do any damage.
The loot sound being ripped from My Time at Portia and My Time at Sandrock is throwing me off.

To kill the monsters you need to be one over their health. Tie equals dodging the monster attack. Below the monster health the monster hits you.

Just a theory, but maybe the combat is based on a difference system. If your roll is higher than its health, you beat it. If it's equal, you dodge. If it's lower, you get hit. Never played, just a theory based on observations.
