    Call me cynical. But using any such words to sound more advanced is asinine.
    Translation: Employing particular words in order to appear more sophisticated than you really are demonstrates a level of false sophistication.
    One sentence is more nuanced and a bit more precise, and the other sentence seriously gets the message across in an unmistakably colloquial way.
    More often than not ... any attempt to sound more advanced ends up failing, unless your audience is as dumb as a rock.

    • @RealLifeEnglish1

      In any case, it is good to develop vocabulary ;)

    • @scotthullinger4684
      @scotthullinger4684 2 роки тому

      @@RealLifeEnglish1 - Developing vocabulary is at least as important as communicating as much as possible with the fewest words possible, which will always win points for me. There's never a good reason to be deliberately verbose. But in this day and age, verbosity seems to be the goal, rather than communicating. This is very easily enabled by the new woke vocabulary. The worst example I know of is Joe Biden, who can neither use words judiciously, nor communicate anything worth listening to.
