Same for me, the tech in modern mirrorless cameras took away the enjoyment of slowing down and creating images. I own the 907x 100c and it inspires me to create.
As a working photographer I need the fast reliable camera like the Sonys but they don’t inspire me to get out and shoot for fun. They will always be just for work to me. That’s where a camera like this or something like a small Fuji x100 comes into play. I feel like I’m making art with this camera and it’s inspiring to shoot with.
The more I see about the 907x, the more I want one. I got an X1D II - I have the 45p but have the new 75P arriving today. I love doing portraiture work The P series lack nothing optically from the V series. The Hasselblad Color science is second to none and the way it renders skin tones is amazing. I am not a run and gun shooter and the pace the Hasselblad makes you work at suits my style perfectly. It makes you think and get creative.
The 907x is the one camera I would actually buy if I could afford it. Mount a Minolta Rokkor 58/1.4 that I modified into a pancake and it's a tiny portrait monster combo. There is a bunch of full frame lenses that cover the 44x33mm sensor and it's possible to do some great stuff with them. The "XPan crop" is kinda funny cause I see a lot of people really hooked on that ratio for creative purposes, and while on digital cameras it's a crop, the original XPan was... kind of an anti-crop? It was using double the width of what a full frame camera allowed. Cool stuff anyways!
As a Pro for 35 years I have had a fair few cameras go through my hands - but nothing is quite as exquisite as this little thing - You can hold it one handed at waist level or arms length - you can hold it upside down and it corrects the image. We sometimes use it wirelessly overhead on a boom in the studio - it just does everything - "What about portrait mode" I hear you say? Well we have two X2D's for that - but yeah it is its only weakness - shoot square and crop if you have to - its the Hasselblad way
Yeah if you want to shoot vertical (portrait) the screen isn’t really made for that but you can still do it. And like you said because of the sensor size you can shoot and crop it vertical 👌🏽
@@LeeZavitz 55 2.5 like in the video and a mitakon 65 1.4 (ES works well in 14 bit mode). I will add the 28p or 38 for future but can not decide between the two.
technical yes. It’s only a crop compared to a proper xpan camera where it was using almost 2 35mm frames and the lens was designed for that wide panorama look. Some day I want to buy one but they are kind of expensive and I don’t know who develops xpan negatives
@@LeeZavitz The XPAN MODE has completely lost the sense of extension that the xpan had in its time. The current XPAN is more like a 4433 frame line cutting aid stacked on a Hasselblad 503. I really hope that a true digital XPAN can be born into this world... (even a film-based camera will do). Additionally, any film processing business can handle XPAN film. They just need to avoid cutting the film. However, scanning is a bigger problem...
I know. And social media is not made for that aspect ratio so it makes it a tough choice. Thankfully all the raw shots are full sensor so I can still use those for everything else
To me the biggest unique aspect of the original XPan was that the lenses also gave an ultra wide angle of view (2 of the 3 lenses in the system at least). With the 907x you'd have to use the XCD 20-35mm lens to get to that kind of wide angle the original camera could get to, and then with the crop factor could have a "true digital XPan" look.
I don’t need it, I don’t need it 😅 how did you find the little control wheel on the front/shutter in practice? It always seemed to me that it would be uncomfortable to use due to the small size and location.
Does the Hasselblad Color Science still work if I shoot RAW and post-process with Lightroom? Or does it work only with Phocus or the camera's JPG output?
Man, that aspect ratio’s is horrendous… lol. Hasselblad is a beautiful camera, but it’s missing that magic. Like Kasey from Camera Conspiracies says, the newer lenses are losing their wow factor. Can’t believe I’m actually quoting Camera Conspiracies 😳. Miss seeing your Fuji magic you always shoot better with Fuji in my opinion. Also, it’s time for you to reunite with your two best models Meg and Beck. Their style and quirkiness are unmatched, and I really love what they bring to your work. 🧑🎄🙏🏽✌🏾
Colors off the Hasselblad are absolutely 🔥🔥. Almost a shame to convert to B&W lol. Props to Hasselblad for sending their cameras to a lot of influencers to keep, so you can really see what the cameras can do out there in the real world.
I agree about the colour but my intention for this shoot was to do it all in B&W due to the vibes I was going for with the all black outfit and gray stone background
@ it seems to be. C1 always hints at that changing but who knows. So personally the GFX system is the way to go for medium format. Sad because it would compliment my 500cm
I look at it as a luxury car. you are paying for the quality and experience. A Honda civic will get you to the destination the same as a Ferrari but one is more fun to drive and costs a whole lot more
I like the style of the model and the focused review of the Hassel's strength.
I’ve been waiting to see Lee cook with this 🔥🔥🔥

I really want to get the 75mm. It will probably be the first lens I buy for this system.
@ that’s a good first choice. I got mine with the 45p which is also a great deal.
What a fantastic camera to give away to a subscriber!

Lets go a dedicated xpan video on the 907x

sono preoccupato del fatto che non c'è la stabilizzazione sul sensore e ci sono 100 megapixel
I really admire these people who play with overpriced devices without a strap..
Straps are annoying. You won’t see me use one unless I have two cameras on me
This is just an in-camera crop, right?
Yeah the crop affects the jpg. And I show how it comes in as a raw if you watch later in the video
That form factor looks awful but wow those shots
It’s a unique shooting experience that’s for sure
The biggest gripe I have is that due to licensing I cannot use Capture One to edit.

Is that because they have phaseone? Conflict of interest?
