I did my Driver's test today AND PASSED!!! Only touched (didn't knock it over) ONE cone after about 8-9 trips around the entire course!! Easily passed. Only messed up the city streets test when they took me outside. I did all my turn signals but messed up the parallel parking by backing in at the wrong angle. Had to correct mid way thru and got the right angle and safely parked it. So glad I didn't waste all my time doing Orientation for 3 days, another entire day from 7am till 4pm doing driver safety course, and a whole shadow day on Friday for nothing!! Now my next challenges: Academy for an entire week, and then surviving the 90-day probation!! 💪💪
So you basically get free van driving lessons? Love these videos btw..so helpful man..hopefully i can get this job. I need it. Got a kid on the way and financials been hard since covid. I'm not afraid to work hard. And honestly this job seems perfect for me..deliver mail, don't have to talk to anyone, get exercise in, listen to and learn things using my phone.m
I had to train today for pro master. My “trainer” called me stupid under her breath multiple times. Yelled at me non stop. Mind you I finished first an hour early and the only one to not run anything over. She was down my neck like a drill sergeant! Talk about pressure. Never driven something like that before had to learn it all in 2 hours. Hopefully my future leaders aren’t nightmares 😫

You will pick up on driving that LLV with more experience like you said Nick. I am a retired carrier and I was a driving and carrier academy instructor. Here it is.. Do not be looking over at your mail tray while you are driving down the road. Keep both hands on that wheel and look straight ahead at all times. The fastest way to lose your job is a vehicle accident.
Well I've done a couple days of orientation in the classroom and then I just took my LLV safety drivers test and wasn't successful the first attempt. I had some good moments but I guess overall I needed some more time. I was forgetting to do certain things and to be honest didn't get a good night's rest the night before but I stayed calm and focused. Never got frustrated even though I wasn't doing as well as I had hoped and being a perfectionist that I am it was not fun. I was pretty bummed when my instructor said that we're just going to call it a day and I have to come back. I think like Nick said there is a lot of things going on inside the vehicle and then making sure you're using the right mirrors and doing all your checks before you pull out into the street or out of a parking space. Any advice or tips would be most appreciated.
@@garybesaw same here. I had mine done yesterday and the instructor said for me to come back. I was out there practicing it also but I guess not good enough. It is frustrating and depressing, esp when it’s something you really want.
When do you get the certificate....they told me I passed and I will get it in email the day of LLV testing or some time this week being 20 June 2022, day of testing, to this Friday.
unfortunately, driving the llv for the first time (power steering) really threw me off, I've just felt pressured to the point that i give up because of me and my instructor's safety. maybe the next time i apply, i'll stick with clerk.
Hi Nick. I just had my fingerprint to become CCA. I have a question is the LLV vehicle an Automatic shift? because I never drove a manual stick shift car and worry about that. Thank you and stay safe bro
Orientation isn't a pass/fail. They tell you everything about the post office. History, safety, benefits, ect*. All you have to do is listen. Easy money to be honest but I prefer being active.
Thank you boss. My instructor was busting my chops so he gave me some anxiety lol. The other cca girl got the cooler instructor. They want you to pass so just remember the things they say. You'll have it down by the time your done. Watch your mirriors and be patient with yourself.

8 hours with breaks

Can I see the page of paper that u show at first
What? What paper
Also, you shoulda told that instructor breaking your chops the whole time, YO! Why u treating me like a 204b? 😏😂😂
Am doing orientation but am really nervous about the driving test.
I was too. Stay calm. You have a lot of time to get comfortable with it on the driving course.
One more question what happen when you fail the driving test.
@@neverendingtravels6514 you take it another day but they said they only failed 1 or 2 people. That was because one of them was on drugs lol.
So you said you drive on the right side of the LLV, was it difficult to look at the left mirror and drive forward at the same time
At first it was, but you get more comfortable as you do it more. Don't overthink you'll do fine bro. I'm a horrible driver and passed.

Orientation isn't a pass/fail. They tell you everything about the post office. History, safety, benefits, ect*. All you have to do is listen. Easy money to be honest but I prefer being active.
It's a 6 hour training. Just don't have an accident, or get a ticket.
Do they make you take a test on the computer and then hands on driving test ?
It's not a test on the computer. It's just information you have to answer that won't be graded. Then driving test after.
