Tbf to that guy in your chat talking about everybody doing jazz parts now, this album came out 6 years ago or so, so they were kind of doing it before anybody else was jumping on the bandwagon
Yeah second song in (first proper song) and he's just giving negative feedback ugh the worst
Dude, this is one of the top 5 best albums in my lifetime. From the technical death metal, to the soundscapes they use, to the atmosphere. This album gives me chills still to this day. Influences from Pink Floyd and a lot of other older bands lie in this album and next. Sets them apart from the rest.
Unfortunately the main vocalist (Jake Dieffenbach)and one of the guitarists has left the band after ‘The Work’ (vocalist: is partially deaf) and the bassist (Adam Biggs) has taken over harsh vocal duties for their new songs ALSO brought on Andy Thomas of Black Crown Initiate for cleans (which for a long time fan of RoN, is an amazing fit). Will always miss Jake, but they’re heading into a new chapter. Check out the new singles. Different vibes. Heavier. Shit to smoke weed to.
Also the drummer is Jared Klein. Check his play throughs and live performances from the songs you thought he was wild in’ on. He is for REAL.
Glad you got to check this gem out. Everyone was talking about this album in 2018.
Thank you so much for your videos. You have introduced me to so much music.
Subtle change is a god tier song!
One thing about this album i never picked up on at first is that the end of subtle change is actually the end of the dissatisfaction dance part, thus the reason its so unsatisfying 💀
You need to check out some Dvne. Proggy sludge metal from Scotland. They are fucking fantastic. Also Rivers of Nihil are like progressive tech death I would say.
the main screamer jake is no longer in the band and i haven’t really been vibing with them without his vocals
Nah the new songs are rly fkin good in their own unique way, for real
Highly recommend rivers of nihil's 3 newest singles
Man Ive listened so much to this album already but this reaction brought the freshness back, so enjoyable!!! What a masterpiece. Btw not tired of recommending their predecessor Monarchy very strongly!!! People seem to always ignore. Imho it’s almost if not just as good
This album is a masterpiece
This album is SICK
HOORAY! Love Where Owls Know My name! Glad you checked it out
