Sir I'm a CA student along with a full time job. How can I use the VUCA ideology to take a decision under the following circumstances : 1.How to decide on the amount of subjects to study? 2.Whether I should quit the job and study full time? (Family needs financial support from me; and my ability to generate monthly income greatly depends on progress in CA qualification) Sir you are shaping lives of many in a positive way; may the almighty Allah bless you.
Rian, your overall pace, visuals and presentation of ideas is exquisite. You are adding so much value to Steven and the Flow concept. I have useful quote: “Be regular and orderly in your life (low vuca) so that you may be violent and original in your work (high vuka)”.
it kind of annoys me how you move only one hand around the screen, it gives the uncomfortable feeling that you have only one arm. I saw the other pictures where i see both arms, but still I get a sense of uneasiness watching you moving only your right hand around
It’s like those moments in life when everything starts going wrong and you get this simmering motivation coming out of no where, to change that dreadful situation
Your videos have changed my life. I have always had high laser-like focus at night between the hours of 5-11pm, but never really understood why, until I found your channel. Keep the videos coming! Thank you! You will hit 1 million subscribers soon! 🎉🎉🎉
I got this channel in recommendations on yesterday and can't stop watching! I am strugling with ADHD and helped myself gain more focus and structure due scientific based podcast on youtube to practice in my daily routine and built a stable life. You are explaining these topics i watched so far so clair that everyone can cromprehend these and turn them into a daily practice. Thank you for charing these knowledge and video's 🙏
Your attention is your most valuable asset. Don't waste it on things that are not aligned with your goals. A big thank you for sharing this useful information.
This is so timely. I am currently overwhelmed because I think everything is important that at the end of the day, I didn't do anything. Just stuck and paralyzed. I need to reorganize and rethink of what I should remove and prioritize.
1. Set the VUCA in my personal life as low as how big my professional goals are 2. VUCA is not bad, it is the same as external Flow triggers 3. VUCA only overwhelms you only when you have VUCA in all of your life's aspects
I love downhill biking because I do get in flow...I have ADHD, anxiety and OCD...but riding my bike through really risky terrain....wow....I feel so in control but I've also been doing it for awhile and know I'm pretty good at it but I can still get hurt and I know that. Challenge, skills balance is what drives me most likely. One of the best feelings is getting to the bottom of the mountain and thinking...phew...I made it and didn't wipe out...I'm awesome! It's a high!
I kinda have discovered the V.U.C.A concept some time ago while realizing how less I wanted to have a stable romantic relationship while my V.U.C.A in my professional life was low (you need to get what I thought was adrenaline from somewhere in your life). A nice routine makes you feel grounded or might feel like a chore or be overwhelming based on the type of challenges you're facing. That's why I believe knowing how to adapt and react accordingly is important. Very nice video! I've discovered this channel recently but I am already hooked. Thanks for sharing
I started a business 3 years ago. I realized that focusing on establishing myself i stopped caring about fashion as much as i used to. I started wearing staples that were comfortable for me. I went out this weekend with my cousin and she told me to wear something different and “try”. I started to feel as if i need to start wearing other clothing to be in “style” but after watching this I’m more worried and focused on my business that impressing others.
Your video on caffeine was incredible. Really helped me on the days I felt unnatural struggle. I didn't take any today and still worked hard, because the struggle was high but I was able to lower it naturally by using the time variable. I will be using caffeine again. I was in the camp that caffeine is bad as that's what I was taught by a natural health book author. The only problem I encountered was forgetting the recovery phase, which I am well aware of now. Did way too much work with zero recovery. You are bringing cutting edge knowledge, while holding nothing back. The sky is the limit for you.

Fan of your work.... Literally ! I am a great.fan of mr Steven kotler's and your discoveries on flow.... Suffered all my life with ADHD thanks for reviving my hopes of getting better focus....😢
Hello Rian, i have seen quite a few of your videos and honestly i am very impressed. first of all thank you! your videos have bought a positive change in my life, second of all i would like to share my situation. I am a JEE aspirant and cracking it requires months of consistent effort, along with the IQ you possess ofcourse. I actually am here to request a video or niche advice for my case and around half a billion people who face things such as: Low motivation, attraction to the other gender, procastination, burn out, lack of mental strength, sometimes even mastrubation. there are a lot of issues we face but only have one reason to go ahead............you have said bits and pieces of everything above in all of your videos spread out but trust me i would be absolutely thrilled to have your advice as an expert. i have made countless plans only to relapse to my old ways.......so i know i am doing something wrong......but what exactly is i cant figure that out........
This video made me realise that I am putting a lot of my vouca chips into less important areas of my life because I subconsciously know that my professional life is lacking them. a compensation i was not aware of.
Rian, this is awesome! Thank you. I want to add something here. Many people struggle because of an untreated adhd. Really... This is the kind of issue that can totally break you in half if you do not do anything about it. So if anyone is having a big struggle despite of trying reallly hard, it would be good to check if you have an adhd.
I really think majority of adhd is failing this challenge/skills balance. In other videos Rian suggests challenge should be roughly 4% higher than skills for flow. Too much deviance causes negative symptoms which can manifest in adhd in some people. Worse, if you don't realise this is the case you will keep yoyoing between too much and too little challenge.
Hi Rian. Great work. Thank you very much. Just one thing about your style. If you stop for a small while between your sentences, you give your listeners some miliseconds to grasp the meanings of your words. It is not your talking fast, but it is your sentences coming on by on.
At the end the speaker suggest I "click here". I don't see a button to click. Android phone, I paid UA-cam to remove the ads and enable downloads, playing a downloaded video.
Your video is so useful and life changing, I recommend this channel to my community which I am part of. Your work is truly detailed. When I make notes of your video, it literally takes me more than hours. I applied your concept to my life and its works. Thanks a lot. Love from India.

This is,I think , the very best video of Rian. Really spoke to me esp wrt personal VUCA ---I have wayyy too much - and it certainly does affect me.
It’s hard to think when you’re overwhelmed and Don’t know where to start. Thank you for oversimplifying it so that you can excel in all the confusion.

However I listen to UA-cam videos like podcasts during my morning routine. So it's very distracting and thus not possible for me to listen to videos with dramatic music, or any music for that matter. Imagine if all of your podcasts had music the whole time. It would be awful.
So I humbly yet strongly recommend releasing videos without background music. I'm ready to dive in to your stuff today for the first time but I can't listen to any of your videos because they all seem to have dramatic music throughout.
I just want to hear you talk man. Thank you.
Yeah but I have so many things, and I can't legally drop some of them
I been saying !!!
Shouldn't you also take into account that socialization/time with friends helps most people to relax/destress?
As an introvert, being around people drain me and causes me more anxiety, so probably not true for all.
Jeez how many times did you change the thumbnail of the video, every time I open UA-cam is always different😨
It's a 'UA-cam thing', everyone is doing it, it's called AB testing
