    I love the flow meter which tells the valve to close and pump to shut off on the HLT. The peristaltic pump flow control is also very badass! Automation Bling!

    That was fun to watch! It has us excited to order our 10bbl once all the funding is secured. Cheers!

    The setup looks wonderful Joe. I appreciate all the explanation provided. I've been on brewery tours, but their info is much less technical than this. This gives you a look into the nuts and bolts of running a 7bbl system.

    So six years in, still happy with the system? Eyeing going electric...

    • @ManSkirtBrew
      @ManSkirtBrew  3 роки тому

      Sure am. The only thing I don't like is the geometry of the mash tun, and they totally redesigned it, so it's no longer an issue. The electric heat has been great and I wouldn't change a thing.

      @@ManSkirtBrew Do you have a feel for how much power you are using per brew? How long are you taking to reach boil?

    • @ManSkirtBrew
      @ManSkirtBrew  3 роки тому

      @@GameStrata I use about 5000kwh per month, if I remember correctly. I'm at a boil within a few minutes of finishing runoff. It's surprisingly fast

      @GameStrata 3 роки тому

      @@ManSkirtBrew Right on, thanks. How many brew days/week and is that 5k kwh all in electrical consumption (i.e. walkins and whatnot) or just your brewhouse? Sorry for so many questions but reaaaally considering selling my gas and going electric before we start our build.

    • @ManSkirtBrew

      @@GameStrata all up, including walk in, air conditioning, etc. I'm brewing 1-2x per week.

    living the dream, so bitchen to see this come together. Since this is commercially produced equipment, is your efficiency already established, or will you have to make some initial batches to determine a value? And if you wore one of your kilts, you'd not have to roll up your pant legs,, just in case you didn't know. Congrats man.

    I didn't see any sort of "filter" to make sure your wart is clean when it is pumped into the boil kettle. I assume, when actually running, there is something to perform this task? It isn't really practical or realistic to Vorlauf at these quantities. I am just curious is all, this is a super cool setup!!!

    • @codyandargo906
      @codyandargo906 9 років тому

      +Joe Fisher Ahhh, that makes perfect sense. I am still stuck thinking small scale, I couldn't figure out how you would capture wart coming into the boil kettle in order to Vorlauf... the actual solution is much simpler. :) Thank you!

    Hey Joe, not sure if you check this video given how busy you probably are, but I'm curious, 9 months later, if you still are happy with your Stout system. I'm considering the same system and looking for some feedback. Thanks!
