Just found your video" how to make a wonderbag" online. They are really expensive so im going to give it a go myself following your vid. I live off grid and any way to live simply and cheaply is welcome. Now subscribed to your channel. Can see a lot of useful stuff on here. I look forwards to watching them and learning a few things. Thanks.
Thank you, I've been using alternative methods to cook, so this was helpful to see how others do it. I use an old camping cooler instead of the the Styrofoam coolers, but I do line with Styrofoam left over from packages for better insulation. I wrap my pot with wool blankets, works really well. Subscribed 😊
Have you ever tried coupling this method with water baths or similar? Where you put a small amount of food in a container which you submerge in boiling water - not sure of my terminology here - good for cake like deserts. I seem to remember my grandmother making deserts like this (although keeping the pot on the stove and not using heat retention).
Nice one, just started doing this and looking for ideas. Last night I cooked a stew which turned out good but was too liquid - too much water. So next time I'll put in more material (like carrots or potatoes or something like that), so still keeping the pan full but using less water - following your tip in the video.
Nice one Nev : ) Is this the same principle as the old hay boxes? I've even seen someone cook their tea in a hot compost pile too : ) BTW Where are all your subscribers? your channel is gold. Thank you.
Thanks Angela! :-) Yup, this is patterned on the old haybox idea, but with much more efficient insulation. Compost piles can be used as water heaters too! The subscriber numbers are creeping up slowly!

Sorry, I fail to see any advantage in doing that.......

Cool!
Your channel is great! greetings from Argentina :)
Thank you! :-)
Roughly how long would a stew take to cook once in hot box?
I generally leave things a minimum of 2 - 3 hours but I guess it depends on what is in your stew.
