    As a bloke that took 4 hours to get my car up on jack stands with enough clearance to do an oil and filter change, its awesome to see how fast a pro can get the front of his engine off 👍 deffo no fornication with arachnids

    As demonstrated, it's compulsory for a bloke finished tensioning a ratchet strap to say "That's not going anywhere".

      You don't have to do the Twang test. But if you don't, it might go somewhere. You don't want to risk it.

    Dropping a bolt into the bumper 20sec after Gian says "this whole thing's staged" is perfect 😆
    You're saying you can't afford to put a JZ in, but y'know you already have the one in the crown, just a little build..

    If you are running a Gen 3 or 4 LS. There is an oil passage barbell you should swap out if you haven't. In racing apps like your. This little part can be a pain in the ass, and cause all kinds of oiling issues.

      Seems to be a more common thing then it used to be on aftermarket pumps. I havent tried a better spring in a gm pump but i have shimmed one and ported a little of the poor inlet and outlet casting on them and had success. Good luck this time round 👍

  • @Low760
    @Low760 11 місяців тому +4

    Wow 25w60 for an ls! Those guys are keen. They must widen the bearing clearance a lot when they rebuild them. Because all it does it make it slower for oil to return to the sump so it can't Cool as well in the driving your doing in the video.

      @@BennysCustomWorks I wrote that as soon as you poured. There's a blog that does oil testing but starts off with an essay on oil viscosity and it's made me rethink oil thickness even on old motors if they are fresh.

      @@BennysCustomWorks im no expert but id remove that spring unless you have clearances to suit.
      Stock pump is enough but cavitates at high RPM which your accusump should be able to compensate for, an extra volume pump might be a better choice.
      I run similar melling pump high volume/high pressure on an L98 6.0 with the normal pressure spring, 5w-30, rock solid high 60s PSI
      Solid barbell/F body improved racing pan /w baffle
      Ignore my oil selection as this is a freshly built engine, for track days I’d go a little thicker 15w-50 (GM recommends this for Corvettes)

      @@BennysCustomWorks I think the internet has made people think it's a race motor and you can chuck a $2000 LS in a car and skid for years. I think like most stuff you gotta spend the money and do all the goodies on the inside to be reliable track engine.
