I agree, some stuff is good in generic brands while other stuff is terrible. Trial and error I guess. Fun video!

One more thing. We are in Kansas and cinnamon rolls are an absolute must with chili!

This was an interesting video. I liked your comparison and honest review. Thanks so much, and your chili looked great! You look very pretty in that pink top-good color on you!

LOL - I have used generic Walmart kidney beans and Walmart diced tomatoes for YEARS in my chili. I have also used generic chili powder in it always. I DO use Contadina tomato sauce and Contadina tomato paste. So, I combine the generic and name brands for mine. My husband pretty much threatens me any time I say I'm gonna adjust ANYTHING in this recipe, so I just keep making it the same. I send it with him for work functions and for functions with his buddies, and always get compliments and it always disappears. People are just a little close minded when it comes to brand names. Understandable, but if you've tried something for years and don't have any complaints, don't let someone convince you that you need to change it.

On the spice seasoning, just use a little more of the brand you like and maybe it will add some zest? Just a thought.

I don't like chili. I don't really cook much. But I love more Guilkey! Thanks for another video! You two are just such nice, decent, wonderful people!

For canned tomatoes, any variety, I prefer DelMonte over Great Value and Aldi. DelMonte is only 2 cents higher than G.V. One more point I just have to make: try Hunt's San Marzano style tomatoes. They are the best by far. Their taste is vibrant and sweet, and they are obviously better than traditional canned tomatoes. I am going to make Chicken Cacciatore this week, and I am using those tomatoes.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll have to try those. And now I want to try to make chicken cacciatore. I’ve never made it before.

Oh! It HAS to be stewed tomatoes for my chili! I don’t cut mine, but use the meat chopper in the can after draining the juice into the pot. But being on a limited income, I usually do use generic products. Some things, though, I agree! I love Bushes beans over generic brands every time!

Love this! We are a great value family. There are some name brands that we do buy, but I'd guess about 75% of our food is great value. Thanks for giving an honest review!
BTW, William, our fave peanut butter is Peter Pan honey roasted, but when we can't get that our 2nd fave is great value!

The brand of chilie power williams uses changed a few years ago. I used to have it shipped to Alaska. It's so gross now. I thought i was pregnant bc it tasted so off. I only buy the Walmart brand now. Glad to know the beans were better

A friend of ours down south said he stopped using Williams too. I’m with you… Walmart brand from now on.
