I got up to 25 mph going down a hill and that is the fastest I have ever ridden. I do not want to go any faster on my little 20”wheel bike. I ride about 13-18 mph normally.
Cicadas are the extremely localized in how they come out. They come when the ground temperature hits 64. I live at the end of a cul de sac and I back to woods. Because my house is down in a treed valley, it was a full two weeks after they started to come out at the entrance to my street before they came out in my yard. The specific conditions on the land matter that much, even though we’re talking a 150 yards, it was enough cooler in my yard they were delayed.
My mid drive has a motor cut off when you shift . No noise. Think your gears need adjusted. If you shift more than 1 gear , at a time, it will grind. My truck run mid drive is silent. Mid drive give you more peddling choices. 7 gears and 5 pos. Probably why you choose 9 levels of assist on your hub drives.
It is always interesting when Russ is Right is arguing with himself. "I can go 28mph if I pedal harder" other Russ "No you can't you can only go 24mph". "I'm pretty sure I can get to 28mph if I pedal harder so this is a class 3 bike" other Russ "No it's not a class 3 you can only go 24mph" rofl

We haven’t had cicadas much yet either. They are usually out in blueberry season. Ours ripen in June. We haven’t had June bugs either (which are usually heavy in May). Our year here seems about 2-3 weeks behind.
Yup,stop pedaling and inertia shifts the gears
Blasted storms came through my area and knowked the power out. It is up and running again. My legs are still in bad shape, and my right leg is still ugly bad after my trail blazing incident (wiope out) on Holly Springs Rd. Did I mention that landing on rocks hurt? Yep, still hurting. Friday's Hospital visit didn't go over very well. The charge nurse yelled at me for not seeing my doctor. The cardiologist wasn't happy with me not going to the ER. But hey, I got back on my feet, repaired what I needd to fix to make the ebike operational, and rode 7 miles home. I couldn't do that if I was in mortal danger of dying. The good news is my ticker is still ticking, and I don't have to see the cardiologist for another year. Everything on the ebike has been repaired including repainting the brake levers, and the battery is all charged up for the next ride. No telling when that will be. My legs have a lot of healing to do before I rechallenge the dirt road. It is personal now, so you know I am going to do it.

Pedal hard, full throttle and index finger upshift simultaneously. Decrease and limit pedal torque, right when the shift transition occurs.
Hi Russ. We are having lots of storms here. But I did get out on Saturday for a wonderful ride. I tried yesterday when it was hot, felt better when riding with the breeze created by riding. I had planned for more time riding but met a couple people and started chatting. I ended up just sitting on my bike for 20 minutes. LOL. But it was nice to chitchat with them. The husband rides an ebike and the wife still rides a regular bike. He is trying to talk her into an ebike.
Meeting new people is good. Maybe you can join in with them on their rides when she gets an ebike.
@@RussIsRight Yes, that is what I am hoping, plus they said they just bought a new to them pontoon boat and I can go out with them on our lake. Woohoo. My hubby can go too but he works a lot. 🛥️

If you want to cut out the bun and crust, just skip the pig mess and make your own pizzas. We like the frozen chicken crusts for convenience, but when time permits i prefer to make my own by grading some organic cheese, cauliflower, add an egg. Stir smash and prebake. Load the sauce, ground beef, more cheese, and whatever other toppings and bake some more. Bam, best you'll ever have
Wow, that long grass was something. I feel bad for the neighbors who like to manicure their lawns and live next to that house. We live in a community with regulations and people get fined if they let their grass grow long.

A few weeks ago a woman here in the UK aged about 60 ish, yelled at another woman who was 70 years old riding a normal bike on the pavement, she scared the 70 year old lady so much she fell off the side of the Kerb and into a Car that was coming up the road behind her, the 70 year old Lady passed away from her injuries...Although illegal here in the UK to use a Non Shared Pathway for cycling, the 70 year old Lady was doing no more than about 5-7 MPH on the video, i guess the Lady that shouted at her leading to her death would feel some sort of guilt. Very Tragic, I think the Councils should make more shared Pathways or more designated cycle lanes.
So sad. 🙁
