Had to come back and rewatch…this is one of my favorites for the steering wheel and taillights. That mod makes the back end of the truck look so much cleaner. This is on the to-do list…👍👍
I'm in Oregon also, and have not taken possession of my lmtv yet still doing their background check, I was trying to see where you might be, when you started your trip, and could not, what area are you? I'm in Grand Ronde going to the beach.
You are going to need some red reflectors on the back of the truck with those lights. The factory lights will reflect red at night if you are parked on the side of the road the clear led will not. I have had friends ticketed for it and I received a warning for it.
Can you tell me what the thread size and pitch of the puller holes for the original steering wheel. Also, any chance you know the thread size and pitch of the hub nut and shaft? I have a typical shop puller kit, but none of the stockers fit, I'll have to order something in. My nut came off with a few thread and will need chasing prior to reassembly. Appreciate you.
I don't recall. That was almost 3 years ago. I used unistrut to pull the steering wheel off. I covered it in depth in my build series. Check out the playlist to look for that particular video.
A turn signal canceler? What's that? Apparently, it did not come as standard equipment on Malachai. LOL! The steering wheel is awesome and your lights placement & cabling look great! Functionality is top-shelf, with a very reasonable price tag. That, my friend is a double win!
Awesome build progress. Glad you are back. I like all of these mods. One question, I did not see you test braking while turn signal is on. What would that look like? Like a trailer or only one flashing?
Sean, what's the main advantages to the new steering wheel? Is the slightly less diameter advantageous in giving more room/clearance? Is the additional height an advantage or disadvantage. I really like the look and want to do this mod but am curious of the pros and cons. Also, what's the best way to pull the steering wheel? I remember you struggling with yours the first time you removed it. Mine has threads in it that look appear to take two M10x1.5 bolts to pull the wheel from the splines but I don't have a puller/gig.

The taillight setup is a definite must on these trucks
Nice upgrade. Good job.
I'm a big fan from Puerto Rico
Hi Jorge! Have you checked out the playlist I created for this build series to watch the episodes in order?? Thanks for tuning in!
Nice job on the lights👍

The lights look awesome, 👍😎
Its great to have y'all back on. As always good job
Very nice, Sean. Just think eventually you'll get it all finished, lol
I hope so!

Yeah mine worked once that I can recall. I just manually reset them now.
Hi, Sean is there a video for the locking cover to prevent someone from grabbing the ladder?
Yeah, it's in my build series somewhere. Check out the playlist view, you can see details about the videos...
How's the paining holding ? I'm wondering if it peals with the wear.
The paint? Both the interior and exterior paints I used hold up very well. No issues yet.
Thanks for the links Sean, I'm going to steal both of these mods.
Anytime. Glad to help. :)
I concur.. Great tail light idea!! I'm going to order myself a half-dozen!!
Holy crap that will be bright!!!
Why paint it? That grey matched the black dash! lol
If you have a trick for finding cheap high speed gear sets, that would be amazing
That trick no longer exists. You have to pay to play now.
Did you get rid of the gunner seat?
Is that box in the back held down by those chains and you can remove it?
Hi Jacob,
Great videos and awesome ideas. Where did you get the utility boxes mounted under the rear bumper on each side, the look great!
I am not sure who Jacob is?? LOL I am Sean. I got the buyers boxes off of amazon. They were included in previous build vlogs...check it out... :D
Awesome build progress. Glad you are back.
I like all of these mods.

Same as stock setup. Nothing has changed except for the lights. All function as OEM. Side not signaling would be bright from the brake light function.

It sits a bit higher. A bit smaller in diameter. It's growing on me. Cheap mod.
@@SeanFillner Cool, thanks. I think I found a pretty good steering wheel puller. Hope it doesn't give me such a hard time.
What's the name of that huge heavy duty wheel it's my favorite
It is just a freightliner steering wheel. I have updated it since this vlog...
@@SeanFillner I'm talking about the one you changed to the chrome one
Looks great brother semper fi I have a 1088a1 we are converting. send me a message with your contact info also where did you get your high speed gears
