It definitely does depend on the company policy. If the company is strict, only the admin can change the password, the admin has to reset it in the M365 admin center or in active directory. Or if the company allows users to reset their password, you can set it so that they have to change their password when they try to log in again.
Or you would have to go through their portal while logged in to the computer and then change the password. Afterwards, you then log out and log back in with the new password
