Daniel, Y'all are good farmers, no doubt. But honestly, I don't think I'd buy a used wheelbarrow from you. lol The number of "wear parts" on your planter is astonishing! Not to mention the increasing complexity of farming technology! But you're doin' good (mos' specially in this dang cold Wx)
Those people who said you were full of hot air loved the padlock footage.I can't understand removing the old drive wheels. Didn't they give you more consistent ground contact especially on the wings which means more consistent planting depth which means more consistent emergence.which is the biggest buzz word in better yields these days.
How many empty oil jugs and paper filters have been burned in that massive wood stove? All of them lol. I like the guys that work for yall, never in a rush, take their time and do it right the first time
Great to see how you highlight the importance of wearing safety gear It’s a real credit to you It sure looks cold there …. Down here we’re struggling with 40 degree Celsius days and the threat of cyclones with big rain coming Great video as always…many thanks
we were a negative 34 with a wind chill of negative 54 and 12 inches of snow north Eastern colorado lived here all my life never seen that bet my mom is 93 and she has never seen it that cold 🔥
Good evening Granny! Daniel is one lucky farmer! My Daddy would have tanned my behind if he saw me hammering toward my face. Y'all be safe down there in chilly Alabama. Keep these great farm videos going when you you all can, but dadgum be safe in the shop Men!
Well, in this app it HAD to be big enough to swallow whole pallets.... Retired fuel tank would be my guess....a "wood stove" needn't be complicated. Just look at all the barrel stove conversions in use worldwide. It's "run what'cha brung" tech. The trick, if there is one, is gettin' the flue gasses back outside where they belong, and being able to clean and maintain that part of the system. You really don't wanna be around a chimney (flue) fire....they "roar" like a jet engine, the pipe gets cherry red (or brighter) and fear grows apace in the human breast.
I heard THAT! We Southerners ain't EQUIPPED (mechanically OR mentally) for ICE! "ICE" around here means "Immigration and Customs Enforcement" NOT that frozen water stuff....
Daniel I believe you need to keep the wheels on the planter. You won't be able to control your tool bar height and the level. It's gonna cause you problems when you start the planting season.
Still need it to follow contour of ground. Now when tractor breaks over a hill planter will raise up and take pressure off the units. The reverse will happen as tractor goes through to bottom of a valley or down in a terrace ditch or water-fur. So leave old drive wheels on the bar. At least on main frame.
@@lugnutzz75 With the hitch set in "float" the tool will follow, at least to some extent, the countour of the ground's surface. But I'd think the extra weight of the big tires and their attendant "fixings" might be beneficial in some circumstances. Plus their overall "steadying" effect (mass=inertia) may lessen the constant "shaking" wearing effect on all fastenings and especially pivot points. But perhaps down pressure on the closure wheels is what's needed in clay soils. I farm sand: furrow closure is automatic....
Hopefully you are going to get warmer. A week from Friday 50 in Michigan . Hang in there Granny spring is coming. Hope everything is good with you, take care and stay warm !!!
Plant24 coming quick. To test hydraulics make a hose about 3-4ft long with a male quick coupler end on each end. Then just plug into each side of remote. You’ll get full flow either direction or add a shut off inline to restrict flow and put pressure on the coupler.
Ok I am a trained professional. A new hammer like that needs to be taken out to the range and sight it in so it hits the target more often. WEAR SAFETY GLASSES FOR YOUR EYES. End of rant. Great video. Yesterday, Monday, we got 4.1 inches of rain. Hope this planter over haul goes well. Stay safe.
Yeah about the glasses and need to put anti seize on that shaft you were hitting with that hammer on that planter and all stuff, metal so it won't be hard to get it off and loosen up and not stuck
I think a nice run to harbor freight or northern tool would be nice. You guys are efficient with the tools you have, but itd be twice as fast with some decent tools. Im not saying snap on. Just some harbor freight icon lol
Lock it or Lose it. Some people will steal the shortening out of a biscuit . Too much money tied up in tools and equipment to take a chance on thieves.
Ha Ha! Good one! But you'll admit his camera skills are very good (and improving!) Great camera placement and views....sometimes even from the TREES! (Sorry, Daniel, I couldn't resist...)
Hello Granny and Triple R Farms another awesome video!!!! Stay Warm

I was not so lucky on the farm and took a piece of metal directly in the center of the eyeball. Wear those safety glasses.

I would like to hear the history of that giant stove. Is that repurposed from something else? Did you build it? Was it purchased as a wood stove?

You should've been up here in NW Bama, with this 1 1/2" of ice and 4 degree weather we had in Marion County! 😂

Hi Daniel and dad and the boys excellent video lots of repairs work and plus good to you granny as always you all be safe 🇺🇸🇺🇸

Tool bars can be set just like a cylinder
Indeed. This may be one mod too far. 😮
@@kenhofer8063Really? I'm intrigued...

You are a very lucky young man!! Really interesting to see how you replace the gauge wheels.
Good morning Granny have a great day

Safety glasses all ways. That is why I don’t want to give up my glasses.
Nice video thank you
Where did you get the trays that are in the top of your truck toolbox?
You're right about the sunshine...Alas, I live in upstate New York...we have both kinds of winter weather here....cold AND grey
any idea how many miles that nail had on it?
Agree with you on safety glasses ...

What the furnace made out of? An old boiler? That thing is awesome.
Per ChrisFix, a small amount of silicon spray in locks will keep moisture from building up and freezing...
Good morning Granny 🌞
Enjoyed the video Daniel! Hi granny hope all is well with you. God bless
Thanks for sharing

Someone needs a wider door
Great video yeah Daniel you was lucky that Piece of metal didn't hit your eye. 👁️
Are you sure you don’t need your old gauge wheels For your planter to maintain the correct height in relationship to the contour of the ground?
Yeah about the glasses and need to put anti seize on that shaft you were hitting with that hammer on that planter and all stuff, metal so it won't be hard to get it off and loosen up and not stuck
Stay warm guys stay safe
Dip that lock in oil😂

Need to put anti seize on all threaded bolts so y'all don't have those to tighten bolts and nuts on all your stuff
Why are you taking the gauge wheels off
Did y'all take all the gauge wheels off do away with them
Now, when your wife says you're full of hot air, she has video proof.

Yall must be in a high crime area as many locks as Yall have on everything.
Locks are to keep honest folks honest. A thief ain’t gonna be worried about a lock.
@@tommythompson3588 you got that right.
I am surprised that anything is clean around your shop !
