    Tips:
    1.I’ve used Dutch oven, cast iron, or heavy bottom pot.
    2. Foil the bottom of pot prevent damage
    3. Preheat stones for 45min on medium low heat
    4. Add little liquid smoke to the marinate (gives that smoky flavor)
    5. After packing food, cover with foil, on top foil, weigh it down with few foil wrapped bricks 🧱. Cover again
    6. Cook for 2hrs at low heat.
    7. Enjoy 😉
    You can do this in oven as well, trays with lip, or use foil as sealing lid.

    Was the gas on high or medium or low??

    • @VinaySingh-in5ck
      @VinaySingh-in5ck 3 роки тому

      Medium high heat for an hour and medium to low for the second hour. I suggest put dalo or Kumala towards the top as it gets really soft if you leave it towards the bottom of the pot.

      Bula Shaleen, just depends. The most damage it’ll have black soot which can be cleaned.

      Hello Aunty, bula Vinaka.
      I'm planning to try this, this weekend.
      But unfortunately I dont have the banana leave or the stems....wat else can I use unstead

    • @VinaySingh-in5ck
      @VinaySingh-in5ck 3 роки тому +1

      Yes the pot will burn with the juices from the lovo wrapped food. What i do is have aluminum tray at the bottom of the pot and lay the rocks on top of the tray. The burn will be limited to the tray and for easy cleanup.

    • @VinaySingh-in5ck
      @VinaySingh-in5ck 3 роки тому

      @@shaleenchand7331 I didn’t have banana leaves either. Just damp towels and place is over the aluminum foil. When you cover the pot, ensure to place something heavy on the lip to prevent heat escape.
