    I've used the jelly 2 (essentially the same as the star) for a few years and its the first phone that ever cracked the glass n it happened even though I had the thick rubber cover around it, a single half a meter drop getting out of a car and totally f'ed. No one can change it cause its a rare brand. Now it's been dying a slow motion explosion for longer than it should and I must get a new phone. Little bit concerned bout the panda glass on the tank mini but I think I'll pull the trigger on this one. Probably. Is it possible to only turn on the red light? I want to maintain my night vision when out star gazing or camping.

      If it helps at all, I have owned the jelly too and I bought the jelly star. The jelly star is a huge improvement. More RAM, more storage, and way better camera. It's also Verizon approved. I use the star as my walking and hiking device to play music. I only get about one day battery use, but that's with playing podcasts or music.
      I also own a blackview n6000. Verizon doesn't want me to use it. It only works with my older 4G SIM. Works great on T-Mobile, T-Mobile just isn't great in my area.

    • @swenic
      @swenic 3 місяці тому

      Did you notice that they came out w a N6000SE which is worse than the original?
      I've been eyeing the N6000 for a while and its main drawback for me is the lack of a 3.5mm jack, also a little unsure abut the size - seems there is a lot of bezel that could have been avoided. The tank mini is essentailly the same specs (same display and chipset) but wo a bezel, w a 3.5mm and humungus battery..
      Verizon n T-mobile are not in my country (europe?).

    been looking for a comparison like this. been rocking a jelly star for a few months, but the tank mini really caught my eye. it just seems SO THICK, especially compared to the jelly star which is thick

    • @TheTechPreacher

      Same... I love the jelly star, I have a blackview n6000. I like unihertz, and the atom L is the right size. The Tank mini has features I won't use. And it's just way too thick.
      Maybe they'll follow the atom L with an Atom 2 .

    Good comparison video; thank you. Looks like the camera is a lot better on the Tank Mini, which is pretty much my only gripe on the Star. Would be nice to see some low-light tests, as that's where the Jelly camera really falls flat.

      @AB-yt4hd Місяць тому +1

      @@TheTechPreacher Yes, bad software support is not nice. I have a Unihertz phone, but we bought a Samsung S24 for my wife as it has good software support (7 years). We do our banking on the Samsung and not on my Unihertz.
      Unihertz is making nice phones, but they really must work on the software side and provide at least 5 years of software support.

    • @TheTechPreacher
      @TheTechPreacher  2 місяці тому

      That's the specs from unihertz and when I run the device information app it says 8200 The only thing else is for you to buy it and open it up and see the chipset for yourself to be 100 percent sure it has the 8200 in it. Good luck and let me know if it's true when you open it up

    I don't need it to survive all elements of nature, just being dropped in the sink while washing dishes every few months and a toddler that gets ahold of my phone and chews on it - that is what draws me to the tank mini. The other unihertz rugged phones have OS's older than my current Pixel 3. I would like a minor upgrade on OS which is what draws me to the tank mini again. But I also like the idea of the small screen of the jelly star. The main draw to me on the Jelly star is "it's cute" haha. Otherwise It seems obvious that the tank mini is the clear winner.
