More than a year later, look where we are now! Each member is doing so well individually and have achieved a whole lot since this video has been posted! Even after leaving JYPE, I hope everyone continues to support all of the members, and wait patiently for their comeback!
I've been M.I.A for a while now, which is my bad. Life kinda hit, yaknow? Lost my inspiration for making videos and I resort to writing now... But since I was missing GOT7, I came back to watch this video and your support towards me and wanting to help GOT7 is so endearing. I DO APOLOGIZE for the editing. I am sorry if I blown your ears out or caused damage. Honestly, I began editing this video trying to make light of the bad situation they were going through and when I added more to the video, the mood just switched. Im a JYPE stan but im also dissapointed with JYP, coz' he cant treat the boy groups from his agency well..
JYP is a classic example of narcissistic leadership. He only enjoy the mentor role earlier in the mentorship when his students (got7) still have much to learn and look up to him, are easier to swayed by his opinions, his artistic vision. But as everyone grew and gained artistic vision of their own, they could clearly see through his bs and want to project their ideal into their own works too. This is where they collide. You can see it in the vid where JYP shut down JB's music sample after merely seconds of listening, and tracks after tracks. It's not just about JYP's way of screening music but also a prime example of power playing. He simply shut it down because "not good to listen to". It shows how he don't respect JB as a professional musician but emphasize more on his power, like "I can trash your entire creative career because I don't see it fit", that's the kind of message he imply, and that's how he wants the power balance to remain. It's not a matter of compromise, discuss what could be improve, what works and what not, but what he decides, so they better work hard and obey the power.
Honestly, I believe each member will flourish after leaving the company but I feel really bad for Mark since he has so much potential in the music industry, both in Korea and China, if only he had the right footwork, support.
yeah this becomes clear when you take a look at how he still treats rain to this day. you can tell he still sees him as less than him, not as an equal artist whom he respects.

Like hyukoh or something. I followed jype groups from got7 to itzy, imo, none got as much downplayed/self esteem ruined by that hag jyp than got7. Aside from the lack of promos, and those times when they were not treated like decent human beings they were also downplayed by that hag a lot. At least groups like day6 and skz have better creative freedom better than got7. And groups like twice and itzy have better promos than got7. Got7 literally got worst of both things

I remember in 2017 when got7 and bts is in the same level of popularity. My classmates and I were so crazy over got7 back then, but suddenly got7 didn't got comeback and promotion. If only got7 have a better treatment by their company, they must've been one of the biggest boy group now.

Because every group debuts with a theme ? As idols they don’t make the theme but instead it’s their jobs to adapt to it? So sure it’s their individual colours but it’s not got7’s colours. He has the final say over the music his groups release hence why he can make his artists change their songs or reject them even though there's a 10 member board that votes on songs. He gives more freedom to Stray Kids.
@@ariesenergy7996 yeah, I think jyp is still experimenting with his boy groups. with got7, they are the group he produced, he learnt that artists need good character to success (learnt from 2pm, even though in the end it was his lack of investigation that ruined 2pm), so he chose 7 artists with good character, yes they did well (will do much better without unnecessary restrictions an Dif he isn't obsess with got7)... then during 3rd gen Kpop, self-produced groups have good reputations like ikon and winner, so he experiment again with skz. so he gives creative freedom for skz.

This is what he did to 2PM also. They blocked taecyeon from his Hollywood debut even after he was casted. The legendary song my house was only promoted for a week. He kept on rejecting songs produced by members and forced them to sing his songs. Didn't allow 2PM members to appear on korean variety shows. All the members kept on talking about sasaeng attacks even published about them on their social media accounts but jype did nothing. Finally taec had to leave jype in order to protect his acting career and his new agency took measures to protect him from antis also. Since we can't do anything for 2PM now I'm glad that igot7s are trying to protect the boys. Please don't let the same thing happen to got7 also

Whole of kpop use various genres and are mostly inspired by western music. Jyp himself has made songs that sound like western music. Well the girls are talented lyricists themselves, they've written some really great songs and besides they want to go for a girl crush concept, but JYP won't allow that. Twice became very famous in Korea because of Cheer Up and JYP wants to maintain their Korean popularity with cute and repetitive, catchy lyrics.

I really don’t like that JYP doesn’t let a lot of his groups have creative freedom over their music. I’m pretty sure the only reason he lets Stray Kids have free reign on production, no matter why he says he does, is because Chan literally would not back down about it. He had to work himself to exhaustion and really bad health JUST for JYP to let him and the rest of 3racha produce music for Stray Kids. And JYP has shown that he is actually lowkey terrified of half of them. Especially Minho. You can certainly tell that certain members of Stray Kids are still not that fond of him. And even recently, you can see that Jackson seems irked or uninterested when JYP is present or mentioned. Not to mention that JYP has treated Youngjae like shit for literal years.
But the fact that he rejects JB’s work over and over until it’s to his personal liking, completely destroys the aspect of an artist’s sound. GOT7 have been described as not really having a set in stone “sound” to their songs. Something that tells you “oh this is definitely a GOT7 song” and I feel like that’s because JYP doesn’t let JB produce what he feels is right for his own group, he forces him to rearrange it so he likes it himself and I hate it. The rest of the group have input on their songs and they like them and make them the way they want to sing it, but then they’re shot down because it’s not to JYP’s personal preference. GOT7 could very much have a “sound” by now, but it’s JYP’s fault that they don’t.
Tbh if their mistreatment continues, I want them to move under Jackson’s label. Jackson knows what he’s doing, he’s built himself a successful solo career and his own label from almost scratch. He would take care of Got7 and JB would be able to produce music that he loves and that he’s proud of. They’ll be able to grow and have freedom and promote in the states. Because JYP doesn’t like when his boy groups do better than him or when they have more fans internationally. So he limits them and mistreats them. That hasn’t happened with Stray Kids because they became so popular so quickly and if he tried any shit like that with them now he’d get the wrath of not only Chan but the entirety of STAY.

Totally agree. The way both groups are intended to be marketed plays a role as well. Stray Kids debuted as self producing idols. That was their image from the start. GOT7 debuted as an idol group. Their debut song girls girls girls was made by JYP along with other title tracks. Also their image was a copy of 2PM's, so they didn't have their own unique identity from debut. Their debut was rushed, so they can hurry up and pay off JYPE's debt and avoid bankruptcy.

The thing with JYP himself is he's controlling. If something isn't the way he wants, he rejects it. People always bring up the fact that Twice is his favorite but Twice doesn't write their own songs so their music is 100% controlled by him and he likes that. The thing is he wants Got7 to have their own sound, and there's nothing wrong with that because you should want a group to find their identity but he also wants Got7 to have his sound, songs that he would sing. I don't want to go in on him because he is an artist and has a technical view on things when it comes to vocals, dancing, song writing etc but he has to give them more freedom to express themselves or the guys will fall out of love with their music and you never want an artists to hate the music they sing. Thats why people sh!t on their discography because its mostly songs he (JYP) would release, which he fails to realize isn't something teens/20s year olds want to listen to. Instead of giving them a chance and letting them release the songs and see how the public/fans react to it, he shuts them down because it doesn't suit HIM.

Watching this 6 months later and still nothing has changed. Last piece comeback is worse than the others, there are no promotion, no tv show appearances, they put the albums on amazon but we were not going to get them until January. The GOT7 instagram posted nothing of the upcoming comeback and still has not posted anything. Mark was the one keeping the fans updated with the music videos. JYPE promotion for GOT7 is a joke, and they are not taking what we said and have done seriously and it annoys me because the boys deserve so much more and they are not given the recognition due to the lack of support from the stupid company and JYP himself. This comeback was sabotaged just like the others, there was suppose to be no activities of the other artists on the day of comeback; however, a group released their English version of their title track, and another released their 2021 seasons greetings.

After Day6 Jae called out JYP yesterday for not promoting his solo stuff like they did the other members, and not allowing him to continue to upload to his (very popular) personal UA-cam channel, and now watching this video about GOT7 being mistreated, I'm seriously questioning how the narrative that "JYP is a lot better than SM and YG" came about.
After doing a bit of digging, I also found that other former JYP artists have spoken about their time at JYP in less than fond tones (Jay Park talking about trainees being physically punished when they made singing or dancing mistakes (although he states that it's not like that nowadays), Sunmi talking about JYP being controlling in how and what she performed, pushing her to sing in the signature "JYP style", her being pushed to do stuff the ways they wanted, even if she didn't like it or agree, as well as rejecting the songs she had written herself. Sunmi herself said that many former JYP artists, including herself, don't want to work with Park Jinyoung (JYP) again)
Also, jyp forces his artists into strict diets and stuff,treats Got7 this badly, overworks Twice and Skz,causing health problems..like wut??

jyp is controlling his artists a lot : basically if you don't do it like he wants then you can say bye bye to your project. remember how he didn't wanna let sunmi release siren ? which gave her a big exposure and was a huge hit for a solo artist and many songs by got7 feel weird and out of touch because everytime jyp choose for the group what he wants for HIM, he doesn't care about artistic freedom or identity. he have also this weird superiority/mentor complex, for exemple when one of his group/artist receive an award jyp is always here to remind them that it's because of jyp and jyp alone if they succeeded, that he still have a lot to work on and try to dismiss the awards recognition his artists gets. i seriously can't stand him anymore.

I think the worst thing after the boy's direct mistreatment is the problem with the albums since it is directly affecting their careers. Mind you, since 2017 ahgases have been sending emails and asking to put got7 on amazon with a US label. And what did JYPE do? they did it for their rookie group stray kids, completely ignoring the seniors who are doing way better in the states and internationally when it comes to sell (300k on average for got7 against 50k for stray kids). They also refuse to print old albums, which means that got7' sales for previous albums are low when they could've reached the same amount as of now. yet they do reprints with twice. not forgetting the pre-order links that arrive one week before the comeback when other groups get it a whole month before.it's as if they're purposefully trying to sabotage them.
I'm a Stay but I also like Got7 so I can't agree more.

@@MrKJ444 all previous got7 albums sold more than 300k albums and even reached 400k for the last one, these are excellent sales especially compared to other groups. they are gaining more traction so there is no reason for jype to not print older albums. and when I say old albums I'm talking 3 years old, not their debut ones. keep your lame excuse to yourself.

I’m kinda starting to hate JYP, like Got7 deserves better they are all so talented and JYP doesn’t see it. What upsets me the most is that I thought YG was a bad company, and they still are, but the things JYP is doing to Got7 is not right and I’m not trying to bash any other groups apart of JYP, but Got7 has been a group more longer then almost all the groups apart of JYP or all, and it looks like JYP is giving up on Got7 which I don’t like to think about that cause I been listening to Got7 for so long and I can never imagine Got7 disbanding :( I just hope that they get treated right, because I don’t like to see the members upset or get mistreated :’(

I am a new ahgase and I started stanning them after ''ENCORE'' (I wasn't into stanning a k-pop band/group and when I listened to ''ENCORE'' I was so touched that I cried without even knowing their story, after checking their other songs I found out that I have listened to half of them and liked it literally, sorry for being late and not be there to support them)
now whenever I see how they were mistreated I feel so happy that they left JYP, they got their freedom and it's time for them to fly high with their own colors (I am so happy I found these guys who 100000000% proved that their friendship is real and remaining as a group doesn't need a contract)
Being in a healthy environment is what makes the artist more productive, I can't even imagine the pressure they went through specially JayB. I am thankful they managed to survive through this sh*t.

The korean public seems to have forgotten that there is a group called got7 because they haven't been on variety shows in the recent years, they aren't promoted at all in korea. Really, I've been a K-pop fan since 2010 and was a YG trash but from the moment they disbanded 2NE1, everything went and still goes downhill. Artists leaving and quality of music not as before. I really miss days when BigBang and 2NE1 dominated Kpop, they're such wonderful performers.

No wonder GOT7 songs are not that good because It is in JYP style. I think Got7 can produce way better songs on their own and they are talented enough to do so.
Their side tracks tend to be better than the title tracks because the members compose most of the b sides.
I'd recommend listening to You Are, Look, and You Calling My Name. JB worked on those three titles. They all are good songs.
