I was involved in the community for years; it was partly a place to be gay and surrounded by other queer people, and the interest in the art and world-building based on the fantasy of that...to me it started with Fox and the Hound and went through Robin Hood, the Rescuers, Fievel, Land Before Time, The Lion King, Talespin, etc. and loving those worlds and those characters and just keep building more, new ones that are really relevant to the lives we were living. Fursuiting is so different for everyone; for me it was a very childlike space to inhabit, it brought out this desire for innocence and play that felt safe even when you've grown older and gotten cynical that was refreshing and enlivening. Plus the parties were a blast, a fun way to spend my 20s! I didn't get much hate for it bcuz I didn't flaunt it outside of safe spaces, to be honest, but if you live it even a little bit loud and proud you're gonna get hassled sadly. I found it to be a radically open world that really expresses some meaningful ideals, sometimes to the point where it's a problem; but it enables so much great people, vibes, spaces, and pursuits that it's not hard to have a really enriching, positive experience. I'm not as involved but it feels hard to ever drop it completely because there's real joy to be found there.

Furry culture, also known as the furry fandom, is a subculture interested in fictional anthropomorphic animal characters with human-like characteristics. While furries have been gaining increased visibility and acceptance in recent years, they are still frequently misunderstood and subject to negative stereotypes. One common stereotype is that all furries are sexually deviant or have a sexual fetish for animals. This is simply not true. While some furries may be attracted to other furries in their chosen animal form, this is no different than any other subculture where people are attracted to each other based on shared interests and values. Another stereotype is that furries are socially awkward and unable to connect with people in the "real world." However, furries come from all walks of life and can be successful, well-adjusted individuals who are simply drawn to the creativity and inclusivity of the furry community. It is important to remember that furries, like any other group of people, are diverse and cannot be accurately represented by a few negative stereotypes. The furry community is made up of individuals who have a shared interest in anthropomorphic animals and who enjoy expressing themselves through this unique form of creativity. In reality, furries are often kind, welcoming, and accepting individuals who value diversity and inclusivity. They should not be judged or misunderstood based on misinformation and negative stereotypes. It is important to approach the furry community with an open mind and to recognize that, like any subculture, it is made up of individuals who deserve to be treated with respect and understanding.
The thing is, so many people say "furrys are bad" and just because someone says something, it spreads cuz it's 'cool'. That's how people are it but honestly, furrys are chill people and some of the people you see that are really bad, isn't the whole fandom
Honestly, it's mostly just cuz it's the easiest thing to think up insults for. The most degrading thing you can do to someone aside from making inappropriate comments (which they do to furries too) is compare someone to an animal or their behavior to that of an animal, hence why people get pissed when you compare them to dogs, cows and pigs. Since the furry fandom is based around animals, it's easy to think up insults that require no effort but still feel degrading. Basically it's just people jabbing at something easy cuz they know they're going to fail trying to "roast" any random person without them fracturing their ego in return (while to them, it's harder to take a furry seriously) 😆
@@JewelWildmoon those people are just cringe. Ive recently searched for antifurry vid and then i just scrolled through the comments and i swear those people were writing so much trash you could just laugh at it. Also probably right extremism
@@Furrawri Most people harshly hating on furries don't get that it is much more perverted of fantasizing about killing a whole group of people who are just persuing their passion and spreading joy in animal costumes than the furry fandom could EVER be. It is so sad how indoctrinated people are and how they can't reflect for themselves what malicious and perfidious thoughts they have without a reason.

Personally as a furry I just think it's interesting. There's like 12% thats chill and not too cringy. I was always an artist, and when I discovered the Furry fandom I found anthro animals very expressive! The tails and ears, snarling, ect. Very expressive and very nice in comics or artwork that you want to be expressive.
Grouping types of furries into percentages isn’t helpful either, tons of furries are chill you just need to meet the right ones. All furries are cringe and that includes you and me

Yes ive gotten threats from coworkers and people on the street and i don't allow it to bother me, why would I when ive faced the worst that life can throw at a person, im a Retired united states Marine Afghanistan veteran so yeah, the only thing that would honestly scare me is loosing a friendship, now how much did my Fursuit cost? Even the NSFW side of the fandom is pretty wholesome tbh. It's basically a bunch of LGBT+ people exploring their sexuality and gender through their fursonas. Fursonas are a great mechanism for exploring aspects of yourself that you're not quite ready to actually label yourself as.
When the interviewer dooders was like "Three Thousand! You dont look like you make that much money" I think I woulda had to turn that around and be like ...What makes you assume someone in a fursuit doesnt make much money? My brother, being a male by biology and a Finn by nationality, is serving his compulsory service as a truck driver at the very same garrison.
Edit: nvm we're in NATO now
A furry developed my favorite plane? The more you know.
"taking a break from life" is actually such a good description haha
Thanks for taking the time to interview furry instead of just judging us immediately
3:55 to go off what he’s saying we even have military vets in Fursuits
I was so shocked to see my sister is in the thumbnail!!
Shoutout your sister!!! She was dope!
I’m a ninja dragon called Bane
Thank you so much for making this video.
seen you do those before, i really like that ur so honest and dont hate on 'weirder' communities, you are very underrated
Means a lot thank you!!
Comment section passed the vibe check
ya once they said how much they cost i came to the comments to check if anyone wasn’t believing it
This is a great video! As a furry myself, I give this a 10/10!
if i was getting interviewd:
im a huskchifly (husky chihuahua butterfly)
i have a dino mask and all together its $28
i would say price is $800 - $16,000
i like acting like an animal so i became a furry
i agree with them
idk what that is
i haven't gotten bullied before
i'd say: we are basicly just cosplayers
i have been a furry for 4 years
its not all about s*x
advice: i would just get a dino mask and go from there
im bored of typing 😭
That’s how “Anti-Furry” channels start. 😑 I really wish UA-cam would ban bullying videos like those.
This kind of thinking is exactly what leads to hate, war and intolerance on this world. It is so sad how indoctrinated people are and how they can't reflect for themselves what malicious and perfidious thoughts they have without a reason.
@@_Featch_ yeah its sad to see that happening. I mean its basically illegal to do that and its also just like why do they do that mind your own business yk what i mean?
Holy heck, a comment section on a video about furries that doesn't have any negative comments. That's a first, or I'm earlier than the haters XD
They consume the fan and it keeps them cool. Protogen confirmed.
Furries vs elves
Furries would win because we have big pew pew guns. Also most of us are just huge tech nerds for some reason, we would know how to control an f-15

Subscribing 😌
I'm gonna be entirely honest, if I saw you at a con go up to me and be like "hey what's going on?"
I would probably be like "ah.. shit.."
Here we go again
Exactly!
I've been a furry for 11 years and I'm happy to see furries finally getting the respect they deserve.
I personally think that furries would win against elves cause I think elves are just tiny goblins that are probably the same size of a child 😌😌
I recently joined the community after getting curious and watching a few fursuiting videos. To be honest, I love animals (especially wolves) but had a distaste for anthropomorphic things until I started watching videos about furries. Almost a week in, and I haven't really seen or experienced anything negative yet.
All furries are cringe and that includes you and me
@@flarethewolf3967 Idk what you're talking about, I stayed far away from cringe. I've tried to meet furries and honestly they're just rude and, again, cringy. I think the fact that I've gotten better friends from anti-furs says a lot about the community.
@@fluffywolf8490why take advice from people that act like they can get nuclear weapons and cause a literal world war?
@@Pher_uite Huh?
@@fluffywolf8490 anti furry people I met are some of the saddest excuses of a person, they think they can get their hands on a nuclear weapon, the most powerful bomb that exists, and they also think they can get away with murder. That's why I'm kind of against them.
This is the best interviewing furries video I have ever seen! 100% valid questions. No hate at all. Love that people like you are wanting to know more in a positive way and setting an example for non furries around us.
Now this this is PERFECT media
Not hateful not intrusive not harrasment and just actually asking questions this is the best exanple of how youtubers should be no bias no hate just asking people questions joking and being decent people this channel is golden and i love it you have earned a subscriber pls make mode content like this
I'm not a furry, but thank you for the respectfulness. Things haters should know is what goes around comes around and that their ancestors have dressed as an animal
I want to thank you guys for having so much respect towards the furry community despite how weird we may seems to other people outside the fandom.
Also, I personally think furries will win against elves if you saw the amount of imagination we furries have, this community could totally outsmart the magic power of elfes like Batman vs Superman. You don’t need magic to fight against magic.
i love this man
I'm glad you are very nice because I go on other videos of interviewing furries and after they talk to them they are just straight up mean and talk bad about furries
To you man. I have to give massive respects to you. Your probably one of the most respectful interviewers and content creators out the right now. The commentary community needs people like you.
I’m a former furry but it’s so nice to see how much you respect furries, people make a terrible image of them.
All the suits are so cute and unique! I love being a furry it's so fun! :3
But there IS a sexual side to it. But that is not a bad thing! As long as it is consenting adults and it is legal material. Religion has made America very anti-sex. Meanwhile many European countries are open about sex and don't treat it like it is bad.
What got me into being a Furry? I love the artwork enjoy the homade Comics that ive seen and love the anthro movies , i enjoy being goofy and making people laugh and bringing smiles, i enjoy the Friendships that are made the Exceptance for everyone no matter who you are or where you come from, this is honestly the greatest community and fandom in the world, just my opinion some may think differently and thats ok . Now as far as my Fursona's i have 3 , a dutch dragon/wolf hybrid, A hybrid rabbit/fox and the 3rd is a shark/wolf hybrid. Now have i gotten any negative comments? Yes ive gotten threats from coworkers and people on the street and i don't allow it to bother me, why would I when ive faced the worst that life can throw at a person, im a Retired united states Marine Afghanistan veteran so yeah, the only thing that would honestly scare me is loosing a friendship, now how much did my Fursuit cost? I paid $350 for a Partial pre owned Fursuit so I got a deal, im definitely working on making Fursuits for my other 2 Fursona's.
this is such a wholesome video, made me smile :)
Even the NSFW side of the fandom is pretty wholesome tbh. It's basically a bunch of LGBT+ people exploring their sexuality and gender through their fursonas. Fursonas are a great mechanism for exploring aspects of yourself that you're not quite ready to actually label yourself as.
Do not get into this
I don't know why, but I have managed to respect almost every single fetish and with the lgbt community, well, I am part of it
When the interviewer dooders was like "Three Thousand! You dont look like you make that much money" I think I woulda had to turn that around and be like ...What makes you assume someone in a fursuit doesnt make much money? What aspects of it makes you think the person must be poor? Was just a shotty remark to make xD Good content nonetheless though!
He wasn’t trying to make a snarky remark lol he just thought she was a little kid (since she was really short), it came out wrong tho i agree 🤣
You're awesome! I haven't seen any influencer who would be this nice to our fandom, you deserve all our love
Okay i really wanna hug one
Just make sure to ask first! Most furries are okay with hugs and pictures, as long as you ask ^^
@@HarlowBrent oh yeah, 100%.
