We didnt do zipties cause they break on wedges pretty often, and yea the idea of the side skirt was to help prevent being pushed too much for wallstakes, but they didnt really help too much
Heat bending is difficult cause its on a really long edge, and i didnt really have a good setup to do so. As well, hinges just made it easier to flip the side panels up to carry the bot. Spamming zipties is also kinda ugly and still doesnt help that they would snap. The hinges didnt add a huge amount of weight and it was centered relatively low on the bot since its just on the drivetrain.

@@brandonlei3616 this is all logical and true but you could also just replace the hinges with bent poly gussets to save weight
