Wow, this is a really great video which helped me to understand how to use the Boss AD-10 in the best possible way, starting with setting it up and fine tuning it for my personal preferences. I have been playing and performing for over 45 years and this is the best sound I have been able to achieve on my acoustic guitar over a PA system using the Boss AD-10 and I am grateful to you for your detailed explanation of how to fine tune the sound on my guitar on this very nice pre-amp. Keep up the good work Thomas. Just so folks know what my set up is, My guitar is a Taylor Builders Edition 517-e and the sound goes thru the Boss AD-10 to a QSC CP8 since sound depends on all the gear and the person who is playing.
Thank you Thomas!!! Thoroughly enjoyed your video. Your product knowledge was incredible. It would have taken weeks to learn all that you shared, on my own. Im new to the acoustic guitar pedal universe. I truly look forward in using the AD-10. Now I will put your experience to good use.
Excellent video ! Very thorough. Just bought a used AD-10 on Ebay for $150. Waiting for it to get here. And at this price, I'm not going to complain about anything on this pedal. I'm semi-retired. Only doing church, open mic's, and an occasional stand-in or coffee shop type gig. Have been using a Yamaha AG STOMP, external EQ and Looper, plus a few others. Also do diatonic and chromatic harmonica. Have found electronics designed for acoustic guitar to be much friendlier when using a harmonica with them, vice using pedals and gear for electric guitar. Thanks again for the great in-depth videos. Your English is excellent.
Awesome review... sure beats the lousy book. I bought one of these and I am still figuring it out. It does an awful lot but I find it kind of overwhelming at times (I am old school after all). I like the 2 inputs with their own presets ... best feature for me. Anti feedback is very decent too. I use it wait hi as mentioned as this thing is just a pita if used on the floor. Worth a good look but the learning curve might be just too much for the basic acoustic player.
Great review! I stumbled on your channel looking for some AD10 insight. I bought it, threw it on the stage floor and wondered why the EQ was so bad. Thanks to you I now know that I never turned it on. The more I use it the better it gets. Thanks for the effort you put into this!
Great video! I loved the similar riff to Heroes del Silencio, Entre dos tierras. Great demo explaining functionality. What's your opinion compared to Boss VE8 acoustic guitar preamp? Cheers
Oh man, this is an invaluable info! Thanks for sharing! Actually I'm affected by "chronic pedalism" in its final stage. That leads me to consider to add to my current preamp (Fishman Aura Spectrum DI) this unit. Always I've used guitar fx separately for my stages, but this looks sooo handy that I forget how overwhelming can be the sack of options it can hide (I had the Boss VE-8 , and finally I got rid of it).
Good reviews, thanks man. What would you say about Fhiman's preamps? In comparison to aura's this one sounded with much more low end and much more full of tone (Apart from the fact it has reverb and delay, etc.) Aura's emulation doesn't sound much credible to me... I prefer to have my piezo's sound tuned than those failed attempts to recreate studio sounds. In fact, I would prefer platinum as it is more real and transparent.
I have this pedal and yes it can be complicated, but you can pretty much draw a line at how deep is needed to figure out programming and just use it out of the box manual mode more or less and it is great sounding! Not sure I will ever need anything else really, warmer than my previous PZ pre by Radial, which is good, but I am preferring this unit more so far.
Hello, thanks for this deep review that helped me much better with my new boss AD-10 than the user manual! One beside question though, what is the brand and model of mic that you wear in this video? Also using glasses I find this very practicle. Thanks again.
What parameters are stored in the memory mode? Specifically, does it save EQ, resonance settings etc to switch on the fly? I want to use this for a guitar and mandolin live (I switch between instruments).
Thank you Thomas. I have been trying to tame this beast. Yes the manual is plain awful. Lots of hidden features. Pairing it with a Roland EV-5. Spoke to Travis McIntosh at Roland Product Support and the EV-5 can only control ONE of the following parameters at a time. 1) Output Volume. 2) Ambience (reverb) level. 3) Loop level.
can someone tell me the specifications of the power adapter ....... in my country 220v is used. I want to know if I can use the one that comes in the box or will I have to buy another one?
Great video! Thanks! I purchased the VE-8 mostly to be used with my flamenco guitar and the Godin MultiOud, I wasn’t impressed with the noisy mic preamp on the VE-8 also the EQ especially the high end as it is very prone to feedback and sounds harsh. So I’m using the VE-8 as a guitar tuner/acoustic resonance and DI box. My question is does the AD-10 sound any better for an acoustic guitar? Particularly as a preamp/DI/EQ? Danke
Dear Friend thank you for this wonderful review. To prove my gratitude I bought the product by clicking on the below given link. I Guess you’ll also get something by Thomann :-). Please keep uploading more videos, I like the way you present the products....
Can you connect a fs5u and assign it to stop the loop? And is there an option to stop it anytime in the middle of the loop or to press the fs5u and the loop will have to finish the whole loop?

Big Dog how do you like the Yamaha AG? Thanks for your feedback
Yeahhh 20:31 “Entre dos tierras - Héroes del silencio” Excelent job!!!
Great video. The Manual only explains a small part of what this pedal does. I now have better insight on how to configure my pedal

Kevin Dollar how is the pedal going? Worth it?
thank you very much....great review
I've only gigged once with it so too early to say . After more testing I'll post a review video about it.

Are you able to use more than one effect at a time? Thanks.
@@Tom-db7bx yes, delay, chorus, reverb simultaneously
@@deanwolfechannel Thank you Sir. Still happy with it?

Wonderful review. Any chance you have the settings for your examples starting around 19:00 ? What are your favorite settings ( Delay/ Chorus) ?

I just found my new guitar tech!

Vielen Dank! Toll erklärt, soweit ich es verstanden hab :)))
Könntest du das auf Deutsch auch noch mal erklären? Wäre toll.
tintifax in the house Warum bemerkt niemand dass ich das Ganze immer auch auf Deutsch mache....
Och! Tatsächlich! Mein Fehler. Wär ja nicht so schwer zu finden. Na Ja, die unteren 90 % halt. Danke Thomas!
❤️🎵🎶🙏🎵🎶👍🎵🎶😎
they need to hire a UXUI guy
I cannot WAIT to plug a electric guitar into it!🤪
Why would you plug an electric guitar into an acoustic pre-amp?
Idiot
Holy shit. You need an engineering degree to run the blody thing 😅
