If Lexi was putting in all that effort to get people to like her then its fair that they know her and can relate to her better. I could have 2 distant family memebrs with varying degrees of fondness for depending on how often I see them and what we do together and for each other.
What I really took note of in this story was how she talked up Lexi but she did not do the same for Kelly. Why is the mother letting the family get Lexi obviously more expensive gifts while getting Kelly the bare minimum. It must feel terrible to be less loved by your whole family. I feel bad for Kelly. It is not that hard to get a present that the girls will both enjoy within the same price range, even if one girl is an overachiever and one is average doesn’t mean they should be treated different and the fact that op is allowing it says a lot.
