I visited Santa Monica hundreds of times when I lived in California between 1999 and 2013...and I wondered what kind of people were fortunate enough to live in such a fantastic place...
Now I am back in my home country, South Korea, but still reminisce the years I walked and had good time there as well as people who I hung out there with.

My mother talked about going there during WW2 to see big bands. A lot of my family members went to California to work in the defense factories during the war and a couple of them stayed after. Sadly that generation is nearly gone and what they fought to rid the world of has now come to America and found an audience.

I read your comment carefully and felt somehow heart broken...
Your precious family members were almost gone with their generation and the values they fought to defend.
I live in my home country , South Korea and feel pretty much the same way when I see what my parent generation have fought for seem to have become in vain.
I lived in California and visited Santa Monica many times between 1999 and 2012, and had great time there.
Here in my home country, South Korea I miss and reminisce Santa Monica and people there...

There were Two different piers in this clip. The narrator doesn't realize. Ocean Park Pier, and Santa Monica Pier. It's confusing I know.😊 But great footage still!

Is the year in title supposed to be 1892 not 1992?
