I have always recommended a custom tune on vehicles. I usually wait until any mods like intake and exhaust are done and then have a vehicle specific tune done.
Carnt wait to see the follow up video to see the power and performance upgrade. What are the thoughts on the hot V set up? Which vehicle that you have tuned and modified do you rate as the most fun to wheel? I had a similar thing with a ecm upgrade on a 5cyl ranger and then pop new engine required. Within a few months just general driving too not wheeling or flogging it.
Have the tuners played with Excavators or Skid steers, if so, are there any Vids on this stuff as well as the Ag machines??? I think it would be interesting to see the gains & what fuel consumption changes there are......
Great video 🤙🤙 the truth is the best way to be conservative is just not to touch it at all.. But if you are going to tune something definitely agree it needs to go somewhere legitimate who actually knows what they are doing. And personally as much as we all hate dpfs and EGRs, my opinion is if the engine was engineered with them in place they need to stay there, otherwise you risk having to make alot of other changes to the engine to get all the heat, cooling, flows and pressures etc back where they were intended to be
Wow what an eye opener, Reuben can you ask what Mark thinks of chips as i have a uni chip with 5 maps and im not sure im getting what i paid for mainly are they safe.
Toyota are fussy with warranties so I imagine they will use it as an excuse for anything that goes wrong. Legally they have to show that the modification is relevant but who has the money to take them to court. I would work on the basis it will trash the warranty. Doesn’t mean I wouldn’t be tempted with my 200 series though.
Rueben I know you love your V8s but the 1VD is such a lemon (yes I’m a 70 series owner ) with stupidly long pipe from air box down to the turbo, shitty air box that lets dust in, low mounted alternator, starter in the valley, lots of goop if you don’t EGR delete/catch can it, needs a second fuel filter (the 1HD had two stock). Im confident the new V6 will be a better engine in combo with 10spd auto, it just won’t make a sweet sound 😏
It’s the bogan factor, so many boof heads running around in 79’s or 200’s modded to within an inch of their lives. So many turds running around, all the gear, no idea 😂
Hey Anthony, we will show power and fuel economy details in another video. Wanted to drive the car for a few weeks before we released a final video to get some meaningful figures. make sure you stay tuned and thanks for watching our videos
G'day guys. The best way to tune a Ranger is with a litre of petrol and a box of matches, isn't it
Sounds about right to me

Good call, mate! Cheers!
Great vid!

Wow what an eye opener, Reuben can you ask what Mark thinks of chips as i have a uni chip with 5 maps and im not sure im getting what i paid for mainly are they safe.
This’ll be a cracka
Was it the unicorn chip you had issues with?😜
Did I miss the 300 on the dyno 🤷♂️ or was that just numbers on the dyno screen 🤦♂️
Are Flash diesel 70 series master tuners?
Wheres the angle grinder gotta get that weight over the back axle 😅
Sorry to state the obvious but what about warranty issues with flash tuning the factory ecu?

So Rueben is not happy with breaking axles, so now he is going after crankshafts. Keep breaking things mate.

Agreed, only good thing about the 1vd is the sound, such a turd motor

Rueben money bags.
35kw is 47hp
Hmm they are already failing in normal tune
Failing? What are you referring to?
