Probably the only person who has kept their fan base after saying it I’ve been in games and heard black dudes dropping the N bomb on everyone 😂 it’s just a thing some gamers do. I won’t lie back in the bo2 days I was dropping N bombs even if I knew the person was white then again I was like 13 and never thought about what I was saying. Anything to piss the other team off I was screaming it😂

@@uNullify He does, it's just it's normal for his type of channel. Also PewDiePie is mainstream. Idubbbz although popular, is not mainstream and only associates himself with causes and brands he politically believes in. This means, most of the backlash he gets will be labelled as, and seen as, hate rather than controversy.
PewDiePie made deals with UA-cam red and Disney. He lost them because he broke out of the (semi) family friendly character he developed over his contracts. He could still have controversy, as long as it didn't go against their terms and conditions. The difference between PewDiePie and Idubbbz is that Idubbbz made his opinions, beliefs and personality clear from the start. PewDiePie learnt the hard way by putting up an act, breaking out of character and losing his 'mainstream' title. Sadly, the fact that he already gained that title means media has made him a celebrity. He is now constantly judged for his actions and even if it won't directly economically affect him, it will affect his social status which in turn affects his money.
Though this doesn't mean these UA-camrs are not popular or successful. If anything it probably boosted their popularity. It allows them to tailor to an entirely new audience, which also means an entirely new set of brands. It also gives them much more freedom on what they are allowed to do. I'm sure if PewDiePie was still in his contracts, he would of never started the t series war in case it affected Disney's and UA-cam's relationship with the company T-Series itself.
In conclusion Idubbbz made his channel for controversy. PewDiePie had to adapt to controversy, and now is tied in with mainstream media because of his ex-contracts. But escaping the mainstream title allows for freedom in actions and words (to a certain extent) and is much better for mental health. Not to mention the fact that it builds a lot closer connection to the audience.
Sorry for the essay, just wanted to write it somewhere.

I think his Forced Positivity video is one of the most influential videos among content creators on the site. That's why we get a lot of genuine content creators now -- and people love them. People want to watch content creators who don't put up a facade. It makes them more relatable, admirable, and in a way, make for a much warmer watching experience. And that's why people -- most, really, love to watch the Felix of now. Because he has graduated to being more than just a content creator for his audience. He became a friend to share the day with, and as a long time viewer, I can honestly say that my day really isn't complete without watching at least one of his videos.
That's what I think.
I was never a huge Pewds watcher, but I did watch a little. Now these days I genuinely enjoy his content. I like that he isn't sensitive like many people.

I’ve watched pewdiepie since the amnesia days. I’ve grown up with pewdiepie he is a part of my childhood, Felix made my day. I supported him and followed which ever path he chose to take. Long pewdiepie fans would understand how he feels and what the old UA-cam was like. UA-cam now is different from when you could upload what ever you wanted. Watching pewdiepie smile and laugh during his videos make me and maybe you guys smile. I could never really buy his merch or support him by giving him money since My parents never trusted “internet people”. His videos inspired me to be me, he helped me through dark times. Coming upon this video was like a nostalgia trip. I might just be one random guy who supports pewdiepie but this man inspired millions. My grammar might not be as good my words might not mean anything to you. Slush who ever you are your style of content is amazing keep doing what you do. This might look like I’m trying to get attention by writing a very long comment but I really like pewdiepie I’ve watched him since 2nd grade around 2011. I Never really understood the jokes, the adult humor but I had fun, watching his fan base grow from nothing to something big is amazing

If you think about it, him and his channel have gone through the stages we all go through in childhood
1. He started immature and rowdy but still sweet at heart like a child.
2. He then went to the angsty teen years where he did what he wanted and did things people find bad, even if it was in the moment.
3. Now he’s in the young adult stage where he still retains some childlike fun, but can also talk with intelligence and about serious topics.
He and his channel literally grew up with the audience. I find it so interesting how I have always found his channel funny, but when I go back to his earlier video`s I don`t find them as funny as I used to anymore.

Also I wanted to mention that in that same video that Pewds gave shout-out to Jack, he also shout-out other people who we now have known pretty well. I'm sure that their content wouldn't instantly skyrocketed, but the boost was enough for them to continue the process of creating greater content in the future.
funny enough i didnt like watching pewdiepie and instead i watched markplier and some of jack cuz pewdiepie felt soo fake and lame in his lets plays and i havent seen anything of him until late 2016 where his content changed and he was more chill and real and i was like wow... this dude is actually fun to watch and a little while later i saw that clip where he said he faked it on lets plays and its like yeah... makes sense.

I started watching him in 2018, I avoided him because the same reason "fake acting playing lame videogames" but now I find him entertaining. Also Gloria Poppy is a very realiable source of news which is nice.
yeah same, I unsubbed from pewds at the tail end of his gaming days because it felt too forced and resubbed when he started doing more commentary videos.
I started watching him at the very end of 2015 until I stopped, then the same for 2016... until I stopped again soon after... same for 2017 when people were saying he copied YIAY with LIWAY and I found that kinda funny. Yeah then while watching Mr Beast he kept mentioning Pewdiepie and then ine say said something about T-Series and soon later I found out about the whole thing so I said fuck it and I subscribed with like 5 accounts for the meme, honestly probably a decision I regret not doing before because damn I love this guy’s videos, even the older ones from 2015 even

I have had a channel since 2007 (my other channel "Unclearless") and this is one of _the_ best videos ever done. I am really blown away, great job, brother! 🤘
*The best biography so far. Two minor corrections and one addition, though:*
1. the adpocalypse has started not with WSJ's smear job against PDP, but a couple of months later than the media found a few obscure Nazi channels which had advertisements running on (though, of course, the WSJ scandal did indirectly help it),
2. the key point about the N-word is that it was not used in a racist way as it was not directed at any black people and nor it was used to describe black people in general or refer to them in any way. Obviously, the word is just too toxic so it was a mistake to use it, but we just should keep in mind that the case has nothing to do with racism.
3. PDP did indeed start his channel not to become famous as he has declined to have a celebrity lifestyle, attending endless premieres (he was only on one), parties and PR events. Even when he was making Scare PDP PR rounds it was obvious he did it only because it was a contractual obligation, he did not like the limelight.

The word that I feel really describes Pewds is just genuine, something that's actually really hard to come by these days, and although I may not agree with some of the choices he's made over the years, I deeply respect how he's stayed true to his beliefs, owned his mistakes and just had fun

Crazy to see how he grew and I grew with him I remember playing happy wheels in school and seeing one of his first happy wheel let’s plays come up on my feed it was 2011 maybe and I was like this is soo funny I watched till 2014 I wasn’t liking his videos as much anymore. so I unsubbed it’s like I grew out of it like smosh but came back to pews in 2016 since the controversy that happened and he changed his content its almost as his knew his core fans where always their like me 10 years old and he knew that shit my fans grow up too. And was able to adjust to never lose his fans. Unlike channels like skydoesminecraft and all the other og gaming channels that didn’t mature with its Audience
