I recently installed a a spin down filter, and quad filter setup before feeding into my water softener. Your comment about the grit in your faucets is precisely why I installed a 5 micron magna filter post water filtration and feeding into the house.
Hey, Dave! I just came from your filter video... this is the route we need to go with the well that we are on...iron is building up all over everything. Thanks for the video!
Cudos for you for showing your mistakes. We all make them. It is how we all learn. After watching videos of honest people. It makes us all aware of what to pay attention to. So we dont do the same thing. Great Job! Dont change. Your videos will be perfect.
Ya pretty good. With no filters, just the softener when we bought the house, our toilets and clothes were orange with rust. The first 4 filters were good, but required monthly changing. With the new air injection filter i can go 3 or 4 months. Knowing what i know now, wish i had installed big iron filters from the start.
With as much iron as you seem to have, I don’t think an air oxidizing iron remover was the best choice. I would recommend chlorine injection (bleach), followed by a contact tank, then a backwashing manganese dioxide filter. The chlorine oxidizes the clear iron, the contact tank gives it time to work, and the manganese dioxide media filter filters out the chelate/iron. Backwash rinse repeat!
You had to do 10 or 12 wraps with Teflon tape because you got the cheap stuff. Buy the monster industrial strength Teflon tape and you only need 4 wraps. And 100% matters that you wrap the Teflon tape in the direction that the fitting screws on. Trust me I'm a licensed master plumber in 3 different states been in business for 28 years , I can't tell you how many calls I get because handyman or home owners wrapping the Teflon tape on the opposite way.
Same, but I only need to change the 5 micron filter every 3-4 months, instead of every month. I was hoping it would completely get rid of the rust though
It might be worth looking at the media you have. I noticed the amazon links did not call out media types I recognize from the "water guys" type videos.

Great job being honest with all of us about the incorrect installation - you are definitely an honest man and could have deleted that!!

Thank you for sharing your boo boo with us. You are an honest man and made me have a good laugh. Thanks!
Thanks for the awesome video. I pretty much have an identical system, after copying yours!
What kind of media is in the filter? Our current system has a Venturi air injector and calcite in the filter to neutralize the slightly acidic water.
Hi there, i have watched all your videos and enjoyed them. how has this addition to your system worked for you?
Ya pretty good.

Hey Dave, how has your water been after the filter install?
Same, but I only need to change the 5 micron filter every 3-4 months, instead of every month. I was hoping it would completely get rid of the rust though

Not level. Plumb. Vertical is plumb. Horizontal is level.
