Dear Sandi, I grew up in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California listening to the sheep my Great Uncle raised and bred. Waking up each morning and falling asleep each night. Your channel takes me back home to my childhood. You are an inspiration to me. I now live in North Carolina and there are NO!!! sheep here. My Great Grandfather came to The U.S. from France in the late 1800's he was one of the first sheep herders in the Owens Valley. My grandmother and her siblings were all born in sheep camps. You have a great life, stand strong you are a string woman. You have my love and appreciation. By watching your channel I get to show my kids what I meant when id tell them how I grew up. Tha ks and God Bless

For some reason I thought Carissa was a University Aggie co-op student, must be because she seems so responsible and mature. Kudos to her parents for raising such a lovely young woman. Don't forget to sign your books.

Good luck, Carissa! Our daughter is 17, going on 18 too! She wants to be a animator, and like Carissa, has her sights on her future. I love your message behind the book, Sandi. Back in 1972, I fought for a position on the boys basketball team, at a Catholic school, no less, and won! They didn’t have a girls team. So, your message hits home for me, that girls can doing anything! Looking at that snow, I’m so glad I live in Florida! It’s going up to 80 degrees here, today! Yay! Happy farming! Get that Jess to work!

You should be so proud of yourself. Your book is adorable and quite an accomplishment especially being written during a trying time. You have been a great role model for young women every in addition to Carissa and Jess. What you do is for the love of it and it show. Women find it much harder to give themselves credit for the incredible things they do because we were not taught to as boys are. Each day you should say to yourself "I Am Brave I Am Kind I Am Smart I Am Strong I Am Beautiful I Will Succeed I Can Do Hard Things I Never Give Up I Am Loved I Am Enough." Good Luck to Carissa.

I can't wait to buy your book and share it with my 1st grade class. I was born in St. Catharines but have lived in the states for 67 years now. I love watching your sheep videos and the family farming together videos. My family is from the Ontario area but they are no longer with me. I love hearing your accent (especially Mark's) and seeing the countryside. It brings back happy memories. It also takes away the stress from my life and puts a smile on my face. You are an amazing teacher and great example for someone like Carissa. I know the hands on experiences that she has learned from you, as well as your wonderful example, will enrich her life. You are a great teacher! Thank you for all you do!

You're the true embodiment of a farmer -- you care for your flock 24/7 and weather through each challenge no matter what is thrown at you. You have staying power and more inner strength than you give yourself credit for. Thank you for everything you do and share -- we're all in it for the long haul right beside you 🤗

Usually, a teenager needs to be in her 20s before she starts accumulating friends that are in her parent's age group. Carissa is not a usual teen, she is so mature in what she does and how she does it, I never thought of her age. So cool that you have had her in her internship, I am sure she learned a lot from you. That relationship has been a blessing for a long time, I suspect that will continue on in some form in future!

My grandmother homesteaded on her own back in the early 1900s. She had to build a shelter, plant trees, and live there for 2 years to claim the land. She was a tiny woman, but fierce. I wouldn't choose to be a farmer but I've never felt limited as a woman.

Carissa was such an angel! The Q&A obviously flustered her a bit, but that's the way we love her ;) Good luck Carissa!
