Hope you guys enjoyed this mind blowing card trick!
PRO TIPS: whatever random blue card I stuck to the gimmick, I remove that red card from the deck for the performance. If you keep it in there, there is a 1-52 chance that they will choose it as the random card and both selections will be the same.
Remember to clearly show the card front and back, you want them to have a good memory of it being a red card and not wonder if they ever saw the back of it.
I also get a lot of questions from you guys about starting a UA-cam channel, well one of the key component is learning all about video editing. Skillshare has tons of great courses that will really helps you out. For a limited time, use this link to get a free trial of Skillshare Premium Membership: skl.sh/spideyhypnosis09201

One thing that I found odd in your presentation was the insistence of telling out loud it was a red card... It kinda gave out the ending! Killer routine and beautiful trick though! I really like your style with the presentations!

Achille Broggi thats 1000% by design. I think the method is so strong that I want them to notice how much I’m Insisting on the backs of the cards being red I almost want them to know where it’s going coz when they realize they knew and it still happened. It’s even stronger. Also. Laymen don’t pay as much attention to the colours of the backs of cards so at the end I don’t want them to think “wait was it red when I signed it” so I make it very clear.

I've got to say I'm impressed with the sticky-tack seperation method you use in this trick.
I'm a huge magic nerd. I've read a bunch of magic books & watched thousands of hours of lectures as well as individual trick, sleight of hand, & gimmick construction explanations and I have never seen this method (or at least I don't remember seeing it) anywhere.

I was at my Dad's today for my little sisters 9th birthday and performed this one and a few others for them and it was my first time performing it for more than one person and they were all just completely blown away! The reactions were amazing and it was cool being able to let my little sister keep the card she signed as a little souvenir. I think that'll leave a lasting impression on her and make that birthday unforgettable! :)

    Hallo man. Great idea!
I've been performing the Chicago opener since I read it as a 22-year-old in Frank Garcia's brilliant book "Million Dollar Card Secrets". Today, at the age of 63, this feat is still an integral and successful part of my demonstrations.
In the meantime I have read and tried many variations of the feat, but I always ended up with the original, which is simply a hit due to its clarity and directness when presented accordingly.
But I am completely honest now; your variant is just great, and yes, I will use it in the future.
    with magical greetings from Switzerland
    André

Spidey, thanks for sharing this. I thought you were doing something with roughing balm but this is so much more clever and a more solid trick that can't fall apart. The stencil is cool and doing the edge makes separation easier. But the double thick card makes it easy to find in a deck, like a crimp card. Pretty cool on several levels...

This is beautiful! I'm toying with a variation using a double-facer instead of a different back: Force the gimmicked card and the real counterpart of the hidden face. Have them sign the gimmicked card. Tell them they've made a love match and those cards will always be together, and you can prove it by removing one from the deck. Put the normal card away somewhere. Lose their signed card in the deck and do the pharaoh split. Spread the cards face down and the removed card has reappeared face up. Set it aside. Show that their signed card has vanished from the deck. Flip over the card that reappeared to show their signed card on the back. (Obviously this will work better in person where they can then examine/keep the signed double-facer.)

Woah this is the best variation of this classic I’ve seen to date, I think a way of subtly reinforcing it’s a red back is by forcing a black card, then asking them “your card was a red card right?” When they say no, you then say “oh well at least the back is red right?”, then place it back in the deck and continue the trick. It’s a subtle joke, but it draws their attention to the back of the card so by the end of the trick they’ll remember you saying that instead of not paying attention to the back at all

An idea to make this next level, that would probably hit a lot of the time and is mostly just different scripting:
Once the cards are chosen, ask the spectator to name a color other than red. You have a pretty good chance they'll say blue. Then have them think of an object, a place, an emotion, ANYTHING that they associate with that color. Have them imagine it and project that thought onto the first (non-forced) card. Then have them write what they're thinking of on the second (gimmicked) card. Emphasize the uniqueness of this card.
As you shuffle them back into the deck have them concentrate on their thought. Emphasize that thinking about an object/place/emotion can almost make it a reality. Spread to show the blue card and do the first reveal (double lift). Place the blue card (now the signed card) on the table.
Then say that that thinking and imagining is fleeting, but reality is permanent. Tell them that they wrote their thought down, and ask them to say out loud to make it even more real. Emphasize the association between the color and their thought again. Spread the deck face down, act surprised that there isn't another blue card face down. Pause, then say something like "but sometimes, our imaginations reach out into our reality in unexpected ways. What we think is real, is suddenly our imagination. And our imagination becomes reality." Have them turn the blue card over. Mic drop.
Play with the scripting as you like! Reply with any ideas you have, I'd love to see them. And thanks Spidey for another killer effect!

    • @morganmay9149
      @morganmay9149 3 роки тому

And a possible out if they don't say blue: remove the color emphasis in the script, and don't call any attention to it. Place all of the focus on what they're thinking of, and the rest will still be as magical.

Spidey been following you for a little time now and love your tutorials thanks!! Regarding this trick,
Jim Ryan taught me this trick in 1980 and I have been doing it since then. I was a freshman in HS at the time. He credited it to Al Leech and I have a magic book by him that has this trick in it. The book was Jim Ryan Close Up 2. The book was typed on a typewriter and he took it and had it copied at a printer and published himself!!! Still have the book and the original patter he used when performing. He had a few good tricks in this book including one I still do called Ryan's Devilish Miracle.
