  • Not sure if you want to be a for-profit or a non-profit... or maybe a b corp? This video will give you a clear framework to help guide your decision.
This lecture - filmed at Harvard Innovation Labs - is designed to help the social entrepreneur and her attorney follow a clear and simple process to select the optimal legal structure for a social enterprise organization. This framework has been developed and refined by working with hundreds of social entrepreneurs, receiving wise input from fellow attorneys in the field, researching, and teaching the topic. Though the decision is never simple, the goal of this process is to reduce complexity and confusion while giving the social entrepreneur a few clear options; narrowing down the number of potential legal structures from seven to two or three.
Kyle Westaway is the founder and Managing Partner of Westaway. He’s the author of Profit & Purpose and writes on social innovation and startups. Kyle is a Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School where he co-teaches a course on social entrepreneurship. Every Saturday morning he sends out the Weekend Briefing, an email on how innovation is impacting society.

How I define success for my interprise? People willing to work hard or are getting older will never have to worry about becoming homeless or not having something healthy and fresh to eat.
